Of course, I may be viewing this through partisan glasses, but in the end, I base my philosophy on what I observe with my own eyes, not what some policy wonk puts out in an internet article.
The nurses telling me that 'oh, Jim had your number, but he must have assumed when I was calling the wrong number that I was calling the one he had.' was a corker. Or, 'Well, the MICU had your number, but they have a different computer input than we do, and we couldn't access it (the MICU and her current bed are but a dozen steps away from each other on the same floor). OR, 'Well, we have the wrong number in our computer system, but we have to call to get that removed, so we'll put your number in another place in our computer systems we like to put numbers in such cases.' (leading me to speculate, 'why can't you CALL this mythical place and have the wrong number removed to resolve any further issues like this?')
*sigh* bureaucracy at its best.
Lowry: Excuse me, Dawson, can you put me through to Mr. Helpmann's office?
Dawson: I'm afraid I can't sir. You have to go through the proper channels.
Lowry: And you can't tell me what the proper channels are, because that's classified information?
Dawson: I'm glad to see the Ministry's continuing its tradition of recruiting the brightest and best, sir.
Lowry: Thank you, Dawson.
Indeed....

I pity addicts, but I keep them at arm's length. I have been burned all too often by their b##!+~$+. Active addicts are a social cancer, and destroy almost every life they interact with.

It's Cinco de Mayo. A day you should all be very happy about. It's the day that gave you - me!
Happy Birthday Zombeh!
I am happy about today, as my daughter is home! YAY! My wife went early yesterday and talked to a few supervisors about the treatment we got from the staff. From what I understand, a few heads will be rolling. They totally went sideways to established proceedure, and the supervisors were horrified with what my wife told them.

Thanks Mothy!
To everyone else, thank you for all your positivity and support. It has helped quite a bit.
Leafy: Sorry to hear about your back
E7: Sorry to hear about your daughter's issues, but I am glad she is getting to the prom.
Lynora: Gratz on the high grade
I am sure I am missing a whole lot of things, but I hope everyone has a good end of the week.
