Not to beat a dead horse, buttttttttt.....
You men don't get it. Its ok for men to get older. Sexy even. Men get distinguished as they get older. I know I def prefer older men.
Most women prefer older men. Most men do not prefer older women. FHDM, I said MOST. :P
Even hubby will admit that he finds younger women sexier than older women. Physically anyways. (Not that I am worried, Hubby <3's me mostest!) :D But aging is hard on us, society tells us its not ok, that we should hide the wrinkles, tuck in the tummy, cover the grey, and dress like we are still in our 20's. :P
I do enjoy plucking out my wife's grays when she is distracted. And I still think women preferring older men is more than a bit ridiculous, all things considered (save perhaps money -but that's taking the convo into a potentially ugly direction). Older women with younger men just makes more sense to me, I can't explain it, other than to say that younger women to me seem... Unfinished, somehow.

I know this sounds stupid but I hate when two good job opportunities come up at the same time. I've been unemployed for a year and have had a bunch of near misses and now suddenly have two great jobs interested in me. One is actually still more theoretical right now but I could work from home and make more money if it goes through (and I'm the only candidate). The other one has a better future in finance but a little less money but better benefits. And I have to take a financial test within 4 months. If I don't pass, I'm fired.
Sigh... I know, it's stupid. People would kill to have this opportunity in this economy, I just hope I make the right decision when the time comes.

You're thinking about it in the wrong way. A young woman can be trained to be just like you want her to be. ;)
That there's a joke by the way. :P

I prefer older men because they are (theoretically) patient, experienced, and more into the woman than themselves. They know who they are and what they want in life.
Younger men are selfish, less experienced all around, and have yet to settle. And younger men also seem a little unfinished to us as well.

aeglos wrote:In Germany the normal form of adress is Herr Lastname (Mr.) and Frau Lastname (Mrs) in school the teachers stop calling you by your first name when you are 16 and call you Mr. Lastname.
Usually you use first names only with close friends and people your own age and soemtimes co-workers but it is quit common that two germans share a office or are neighbours for 25 years and never get to first namesI'm really asking, not being mouthy: how does Fraulein figure into that? A unmarried woman of 16 or older still reserves the right to withhold her first name as a form of address, right? Like a spinster, I mean.
(Whatever, go read the kotaku-male-privilege thread, this is just the way I think.)
Fräulin = Miss. It is no longer used, to call a young women Fräulin is today almost and insult (it is only used condescending). Women of every age starting at 16 are Frau Lastname. Old people sometimes still use Fräulin

Under no circumstances is anyone else allowed to call me Bob. I have a step-brother named Bob, so it just doesn't sit well with me.
First name is Holger, my friends call me Holg......The Holg

Re: age, I'm 35 and lovin it. :)
I so lacked confidence and self-knowledge in my twenties and I think unfinished is a good way to describe it. I like myself better now. I don't think I look old so I don't worry about it. Well, I do dye my hair, but I started going grey in my mid-twenties so I don't really think of that as a sign of age....now if I could just get my hair to not be red. No really, I dye it brown, it comes out red, I dye it black, it comes out black for about three days and then immediately fades to red. It's maddening. My natural haircolor was blond for crying out loud. Why is it insisiting on being red???
Re: nicknames, for some reason people are reluctant to use a nickname for me. Although most can't seem to get my name right either. It's Larissa. Not Melissa, not Marissa, not Clarissa or Carissa. Larissa. Although when people use my full name I feel like I'm somewhere official and formal like the DMV or the dentist or something so in the last couple of years I've started introducing myself as Rissa and asking people to call me that. And yes, I was named after the character in Doctor Zhivago. My parents intended to call me Lara as my nickname, but my grandma kept calling me Rissa and it stuck.

So, I saw the most PATHFINDER books I've ever seen at Half-Price Books: Advanced Player's Guide, Ultimate Magic, and Ultimate Combat. I was shocked, until I saw that the covers were somehow imperfectly laminated on the boards.
I've never seen any PF books. But oh man, all the 2e and 4e...

So I was trying to convince my wife we needed one of the new iPads, because ooooh shiny. However, I somehow instead convinced her we needed new iPhones, so we got those today. I guess I will have to wait for the new iPad.
