If you're being an anarchist with all your clothes on, you're doing it wrong.

Been a while Puffin, how's tricks?

They're turning. :P

Yay for house rules! Fighters in my campaigns just got a boost. They get 8 plus int skill points per level and a bunch of new class skills.

Well as long as it's moving, then maybe it'll move up. ;)

With as much as it's turnin', it sometimes gets hard to keep it up. :P

Ahh Blazing Saddles.... so much better with out the cuts for language.

Some movies are improved by censoring. Many are not.

Censorship is awesome.

And, on an unrelated note, have you ever been deer hunting in South Texas? I have a lease. :-)

This is clearly a trademark violation. You will be getting a cease and desist order from my attorney.
Pfft. I don't argue with my clones. Shouldn't you be at the Wal*Mart opening in Sheboygan eating babies?

FIFY.

Loser.

0.o

That's uh... a bit much.I've heard people going 4 + Int before, but 8? That's a lot of skill points for a guy that swings a sword.

That's not even worth watching if edited for language.

Probably not the best time to mention, I'm not a huge Mel Brooks fan. Is it?

So bored.

Sovereign Court

So I suppose Karl can't boot me out of here.

Sczarni

Cheer up mate!

Liberty's Edge

Who's Karl and where is he booting people from?

Sczarni

I think he's some kind of electronic bouncer.

Either that, or a bookie.

You'd know him better as Karelzarath, and he's one of the mods over at the Paizo chatroom. Karl is my nickname for him.

Liberty's Edge

I see.

Geez, it’s been a while since I was a chatroom (semi-) regular. I didn’t know there were moderators, or bootable offences.

You have to watch those bookies.

I am trying to kill time while I wait for work to finish (finished up what I was working on with just over an hour to go until I could leave, and didn’t feel up to starting anything else). Unfortunately I’m up to date in all my pbp games and I can’t find any particularly interesting topics on discussion here at the moment.

Liberty's Edge

On the plus side, I put in an order earlier today for more than $130 worth of Pathfinder goodies and only had to pay about $50 (thanks to various discounts and promotions and a gift certificate I had forgotten about). Now I just need to wait three weeks or so before I receive the shipment ...

Most of the time there isn't. I saw someone booted for hacking into chat and using profanity, good to know that I'm now on that level. Or I'm just lucky. Either way it's clear that or my humour isn't appreciated.

Sczarni

Bummer, guy.

Probably you’re just lucky. It can be tough to follow the rules if they’re not clearly stated or arbitrarily applied. I don’t know if that’s the case here, but my previous experience with the chat was that it was generally pretty free and easy as to what was discussed and in what way.

I don’t know what went down, but it sounds as if some comments made in jest were taken seriously or deemed offensive or something? Well I can’t honestly say who I’d side with had I been there, but you’ve always seemed like a decent fellow to me.

I’ve discovered from time to time on these forums that humour often doesn’t translate well across cultures, or amongst people with different life experiences, or just given the medium.

I also read a comment by Ricky Gervais yesterday where he said that offense is always taken and never given. While I’m not sure that’s true in 100% of cases, it makes you think.

Also, yay to employment!

Liberty's Edge

Anyway, I’ll leave it at that. Karelzarath seems like a decent fellow as well, and I really don’t want to take sides, especially as I wasn’t across the situation. My point was that misunderstandings can happen, and hopefully they can be moved beyond.

Liberty's Edge

I have the stomach pains.

Damn you diabetes medicine!!!!

Also, thank you.

I have an idea. What if I wrote a series of short stories done by the Pathfinder RAW?

Here's how it would work. Create the 5 most awesome PCs I can think of (level still being thought up, thinking between 5 and 10) using the Pathfinder rules and my house rules, and set in my campaign setting. Then, I construct the conflict of the short story (think adventures in Pathfinder, with a short story equivalent to one, and built like one). Then I begin writing, but everything that happens is handled by the Pathfinder rules. So, when the heroes of the short story are fighting, I'm actually rolling dice and then building the narrative around what the dice say happens, even if it means killing someone off. I could post these short stories in the Campaign Journals section.

Cool idea?

Liberty's Edge

No, stories that have anything to do with rules invariably suck <redacted>... X_X

I'm not writing a novel, I'm just thinking it might be fun. I never really get to be a player in my homebrew, and this is my chance.

Far be it from me to stifle creativity! :)

Yea. I know rules and dice are bad for a serious novel that aims to get published, but this isn't one of those. This is short stuff written for fun and shared, with no intention of publishing.

I do understand that comedy doesn't translate well, and there can be misunderstandings, but I'd have thought that after being a regular in chat for a few years now they'd have given me the benefit of the doubt. They did not.

I'm not interested in returning unless I know I'm welcome back. From what I'm reading from Lilith she seems fine with me gone. Not much reason for me to return at this point. Besides I'm sure returning now would be like walking on egg shells, never knowing what people would find offensive or not, and I'd rather not return to get booted again.

Good Morning FaWtLys! I am excited. I found a new job that allows me to stay in the Houston area and it is a great opportunity. It's been a stressful few weeks, but now that it has been announced at work, I feel like a great load has been lifted off of me.

In the "it's a small world" category, I will now be working only 10 minutes from AZ's brother who is also a player in my Rise of the Runelord's campaign. Wolfthulhu plays in that game as well.

Since I have a lot of projects to wrap up, I gave my current employer about 4 weeks notice so I don't start my new job until February 6th. Grrr!

While rolling dice seems like a stupid way to make decisions for a novel. For a really great author anything is possible. I might point out that The Man in the High Castle written by Phillip K. Dick was partially written using the I Ching. Which while more specific than just a dice roll, still takes some big brass ones to make a novel by random.
