Alright guys I am hitched. the location was great. It was on a overlook on a mountain. The photographer is still working on the pictures editing wise but what she has showed us looks great. The whole thing went well. I think Mrs. Master was very happy with everything.

Alright now I got about 200+ posts to catch up on.

And I'm doing it in the buff.

This is kind of long:
A party of adventurers saved a kingdom from an invasion by a lich's army. In thanks, the king threw a lavish feast. During the party, the king asked the adventurers a few questions.

First, he addressed the fighter.
King: "Sir Parvical, you are mighty in battle. How came you to be so skilled?"
Parvical: "Your Highness, I trained in all manner of weapons and tactics at the finest military schools throughout the lands. It took long years of hard work, but it has paid off handsomely."

Next, the king spoke to the monk.
King: "Brother Tarvis, your skill in unarmed combat is unparalleled. How did you achieve this?"
Tarvis: "Majesty, I have spent my life honing my mind and body to the peak of human perfection. Through years of effort, I learned to tap into my innate energy to push myself beyond what is normally possible."

The king then turned to the cleric.
King: "Sister Carrow, your divine abilities are most impressive. What is your secret?"
Carrow: "Well, sire, through a lifetime of piety and devotion, I have forged a connection to my deity. I serve as a pipeline for my god's power so that she may affect the material world."

Finally, the king turned to the sorcerer.
King: "And you, Steve, your mastery of the arcane is beyond compare. How did you come to wield such power?"
Steve: "Well, I'm glad you asked. What happened is that my great-great-great-grandad f%@#ed a dragon."

Should be a fun day, I get to bring in a truckload of dirt to reinforce our patio and then I get to go over about an acre of pavers with a four foot level and fix any low spots that might have occurred during the last two weeks of cutting.

And then, I get to put in the edging, which is actually cement, and recycled Christmas tinsel that comes in 70 pound buckets that I have to mix up myself in a wheelbarrow and then apply. And one bucket only covers about 15 feet, so a lot of really heavy buckets. At least I'll be ripped heading into the holidays.

I do have some advice.

1. Pick your battles

2. Always say you're sorry before bed, even if you were initially in the right, it's a classy thing to do and she'll appreciate it.

3. If she (or you for that matter) cooks a type of food you don't like, don't pretend that you like it because you love her, if you do she'll (or you) will continue making it for years and years.

4. Always say "I love you" before you leave the house, you never know when you'll be struck by a meteor.

So today is my last day of on-campus teaching until at least MLK day. Our school goes by the county prevalence rate, and it's been above 1.0 for fourteen consecutive days, plus we don't trust people not to be stupid over the holidays, because Texas. If the prevalence rate drops by then, we'll come back to campus, but I'm betting we don't actually get back to the classroom until some time in February.

And next week is a vacation week for all the students, so my kids are going to be squirrels-on-crack all day.

But. There will be pizza and beers at the end of it. And gaming on Sunday.

TN is about to close all their school again too. well the classroom part anyways.

Scint's school is giving them an extended thanksgiving vacation to "let the quarantine time run out" then expecting to resume at the beginning of December like nothing happened.

I predict there will be Issues with this.

I miss NM today particularly bad for some reason. It has been on my mind all week because of module/adventure I am writing, but I can almost taste the pine scent in the air and the crisp mountain air near Cimarron.

Schools around here just closed down yesterday.

We are all concerned for Thanksgiving. I am trying to get delivery from Katz' myself.

Next month is the real question though, as we were supposed to go to St. Thomas. At first infection numbers were down and we were liking what we saw. Then things went back up.

Grandma used to give me whiskey when I was teething as a baby. Numbed up the gums and relieved the pain. Not like I remember that, but there's probably multiple reasons for that.

This is what it's like working for Global Megacorporation:

2017: (NobodysHome): Hey, dev(elopment)! Your product still uses Adobe Flash. Don't you know that:
(1) That's horrifically insecure, and
(2) that Flash is being phased out?
Dev: Yep. We know. Don't worry about it.

2020: NobodysHome gets a notification that dev did NOT pull Flash out of our product, so it's going to be unavailable to customers for at least 6-8 months while they build an HTML5 version of their tool from scratch.

Boy, it's too bad they couldn't have, y'know, predicted this entire fiasco based on the THOUSANDS of articles telling everyone that Flash is going away!!!

Interesting thought of the day: I have a strong preference for female vocalists. Impus Major has a strong preference for male vocalists with deep voices.

I'm wondering -- is it because I've always been more comfortable in the company of women and I don't sing, while Impus Major likes to sing along and so chooses vocalists in his own vocal range?

Just one of those "curious about human psychology" moments.

EDIT: Good example: I had a lot more fun being barefoot and in the kitchen preparing hors d'ouevres and drinks for the women at the Portuguese Hurricane's bachelorette party than I did at my cop friend's bachelor party.

Please tell me you were wearing fishpants, nothing else, and shook the drinks by shaking your moneymaker while they shouted at you to take it off.

True story: I had a friend who's girlfriend would clean his apartment when she got really drunk, but this would get her hot, so she'd strip naked while she cleaned.

In college one day, me and a bunch of hetero guy friends are sitting at lunch discussing what gets us going that our ladies do. One buddy is staring off into space so we prompt for his answer. "Baking... cookies..." was his reply in a dreamlike trance.

I feel like the 2 of us would get along if we ever met IRL.

With the exception of my ex wife I've kept in good touch with every ex I've ever had. When we have in person game nights I spend as much time gabbing with my female players as I do running. My dept is all women with the exception of myself and one other gentleman; on the rare occasion we socialize outside of the office I'm called "one of the girls" as we all gossip.

I've always felt it was fate being kind that I had 2 daughters.

Also, I have an affinity for female vocalists as well NH. As for you and your boy, I don't know. Could be nature, could be nurture, or a combo of the 2.

I get so exhausted with teachers who assume that spiritualism, symbolism, or tradition are so essential to everyone.

Impus Minor's English assignment today? "Choose an object that is deeply meaningful to you. Answer these questions. Why is it important to you? What would you do if you lost it? Etc., etc."

And this is for the son of Mr. "What else can I throw out today?"

I could literally go into Impus Minor's room, tell him I was going to replace everything in his room with new stuff so he should grab anything that had special meaning to him, and watch him walk out of the room empty-handed.
What makes it even worse is that last year he nearly failed a similar assignment because he had to come up with a "family tradition" that had been in the family for generations and we pretty much didn't have any. His choices were, "We do a Christmas tree every year because everybody does it," or, "We do Thanksgiving every year because everybody does it."

Not every family has deep emotional connections to objects, nor generations-old traditions that must be passed down. Heck, we didn't even do Halloween this year and it was no big deal.

You're Impus Minor's English teacher. Can you just have him write an essay about a book he read or a topic sentence YOU provide?

"My body" is technically an object. And as for reasons why, he can be like "because I feel physical pain when I damage it and have yet to figure out how to exist without it for longer than 3-4 REM cycles a night."

While I have many objects I am very attached to, I am (and was) always the kid who would use these assignments to make something super sarcastic.
