We made some outstanding progress today.
The only thing more fun than putting together a puzzle is being the one that gets to decide what the puzzle looks like.
I got us as far today as co-worker expected we'd be at the end of the day tomorrow.
Which is to say, the patio is mostly done, cuts and all, the fire ring will be installed in the morning, I get to bring in a couple of truck loads of dirt and then the paver edging and we're done.

Given that trees don't grow in the Underdark, and hence wood will be a rare & precious resource, what do its denizens make spear/arrow shafts, etc., out of - dried fungus? Metal? Bone?
the bones of disobedient males, strewn with the guts of obedient ones. Or maybe its the other way around? Either way, those crossbows are deadly.

I like it.
I didn't even think of that.
That will certainly come in handy if I ever make a Vanguard or anyone that uses a shield.
I'll be using them as absalom *station* security forces :)

Woot, my dwarven forge hellscape has shipped.
And Fall of Plaguestone is scheduled to arrive stateside at end of the month, so I might have it in hand for birthday gaming.
And Wildlands launches Aug. 9.
On a sadder note - selling my truck. Just too much maintenance for something only 7 years old. Will revisit truck ownership if/when we leave work from home. Guess I should know better than to buy an italian truck.

Gotta love gnomes.
GM: And the Merula family is logging the Boarwood...
Gnome: Is that a euphamism?
So after recovery at the table (which took several minutes), the rest of the evening was spent accusing people of "logging the Boarwood".
It was a fine evening.
(And notice NobodysHome doing his utmost to avoid mentioning the weather in his area, and almost succeeding...)

My gnome tinker and fighter/weapon master/stalwart defender spent last night trying to convince an entire party - an actual party, fancy dress and all, at the opening of an arts and crafts school and museum - that a device of unknown operation and purpose donated to the museum by a local eccentric who happened to also be a gnome was not going to explode, even if it occasionally made strange sounds and emitted colored light, please stop poking the displays miss elf druid, please stop threatening to bash the machine with a rock miss elf druid, and no we don't know what it does but by Garl one day I will figure it out.

I really hope it's essentially one of these .

I was supposed to be off work all this week for a long-ago-planned-and-cancelled vacation, and decided to keep the days for GenCon purposes.
However, I gave back my PTO day on Monday in order to hide from my in-laws. They don’t know we are off, but my mother-in-law was visiting, knowing Mondays are my husband’s normal day off. Is it weird that I would rather work than spend the day with my MIL?
She’s pleasant enough, but it can be... a lot.

I'm even worse in that I don't "idle" well -- if I don't have a project, I'd rather be working than sitting around the house. So for both my planned time off in April (3 days for the high school trip) and June (5 days for the Ashland trip), I cut my time off to 1 day each.
Which, considering I get infinite vacation time, is just bizarre by most people's standards.
But, "I have nothing to do around the house, and plenty to do at work," is something I actually think on occasion.

I have updated drivers for the gfx card earlier today and played a game I couldn't play on the laptop for a few hours.
And after that, problems with graphics started - with the screen turning completely dark. Possibly an issue with the drivers. For now, I am back on laptop while going through system reset on the new computer.

OK, I wasn't going to mention the weather but it's the time of year when I leave the windows open 24/7 and this morning it was 54°F (which isn't so bad at night), but it's almost 9:00 am and it's still only 56°F with a decent breeze.
So I may actually have to close the windows. That's just wrongness.

Ha! We just hit 80 degrees! Only another 8 degrees before we hit our peak.
I still wouldn't trade it for your weather, I thrive on warmth and sunshine (so I guess I'm a solar powered perpetual motion machine.

Drejk...I actually think you're in the right direction by looking at the drivers as the culprit.
I've seen situations where a driver issue is causing what amounts to a BSOD, but what you see is that black screen instead of actually showing you the BSOD. You might want to check it with an earlier version of the drivers.
EDIT: I know you're checking with the latest version or the "best" version of the drivers. Sometimes those latest versions are the problem. You didn't mention having the problem until after you updated the video drivers.
The most recent time I've seen this issue crop up was with the latest publicly available drivers from a PC manufacturer. In my case I was able to get a beta version of the next driver update, but that was due to it being an enterprise situation. In your case you should be able to download or find the previous version.

After the first two crashes (which happened some time after udating the drivers in the device manger), I reinstalled the system and the third crash occured shortly after, without update to the drivers (unless the windows secretly updated them). Then I updated the drivers using AMD's program that allows for configuration of their gfx (when another crash happened).
Interestingly though - I am repeating the previous test - without Chrome, using Edge at the moment to browse (and listen to music). It's been over an hour now without crash...
Could it be some sort of Chrome issue (possibly interfering with the drivers)? Would it cause an immediate black screen crash?

Possible but not likely, particularly since Edge is using the same underlying base code as Chrome.

Huh. The computer stayed stable for two hours and a quarter of browsing the internet with Edge and then Opera (which I just installed).
I opened Chrome and the computer crashed within a minute or two...
I opened facebook which I have set on Chrome, though. I didn't bothered with logging into it on Edge or Opera.
Yeah, yeah, I know, just another proof that facebook is evil...

I started the computer again. Then I tried to close it to apply the updates that it downloaded earlier, and it crashed almost immediately during the preparation instead of applying the upgrades. Chrome wasn't involved. I am not sure if the update involved drivers. The crash happened before it even started to show it applies the updates.
