Yeah, I'm following the manga on One Punch Man, and I'm really worried that One is suffering from "George R. R. Martin syndrome" and losing his focus while trying to create an epic tale.

Once a month, I eagerly read the next issue. For quite a while now I've been disappointed with most, hoping against hope that he'll manage to wrap up at least one story arc before starting another.

Fortunately, Chapter 132 was pretty darned good, and makes me look forward to seeing what happens in 133... in another month! But at least that's better than 5 years!

I think he already has one. He seems able to adjust his level of black manliness at will.

its not a super power, but years of training. When I get up to Black Dynamite levels of power, it will be a super power.

A few OVAs feature him, but as of the webcomic, which is quite further than the manga, he has faded from the scene entirely. He existed for one purpose, filled it, and ONE is a good enough writer to not rehash his points over and over.

I see Murata is adding a few things ONE didn't in the Manga, like the entire martial arts tournament arc, Orochi as a character (in the manga Psychos doesn't use a puppet leader beyond her gyuro form), and such, and I feel it's hinting the end a lot more than the webcomic was.

OPM's foreshadow:
God/The Earth
will be the final big bad guy, I'm sure now. If Vaccine Man and Homeless Emperor weren't enough of a hint, Psychos kinda confirmed it in the latest strip

I can't wait to see Garou return after that...thing with King by the waterfall happened.

Those are called Charles Atlas Superpowers.

Speaking of OPM, half the S-Class has "I trained too much" as their power.

At least OPM isn't Berserk levels of slow.

I feel like I'll never see Guts kill Griffith.

Teen Titans GO is the Godfather 3 of cartoons.

Is that good or bad, I've never actually seen any of the Godfather movies.

The episode where Robin teaches the titans about how rental properties/money works is the single most educational episode of any cartoon I have ever seen.

It's a good thing the kids don't play poker.

The General walks into the room and Tiny T-Rex hides something behind his back and says "Oh, hello, I'm not doing anything suspicious, you're looking younger though!"

Godfather 1/2 are both considered two days of the best movies...pretty much ever. Critics disagree on HOW good, but they're both near universally loved. They pretty much perfectly follow the novel, (which is pretty good itself) BTW.

Godfather 3 is just...not. It is even worse because it follows two such amazing movies. Also, it does not follow any source material IIRC.

Teen Titans was awesome.

TTG is just terrible. It is even worse because of how good TT original was.

Thus the analogy.

Somehow I feel he's seen enough TV to know that is funny (seems like a scene from a typical sitcom), and is trying to make her laugh more than failing at lying.

That's just how he is, he's not good at covering up but a pro when it comes to flattery and positive reinforcement.

Its always find it a bit interesting to me at how well DC's animated stuff goes and how poorly Their live action is while Marvel is about the opposite.(I think the Marvel ones are just going for a younger audience really but same for me either way.)

I think it goes back to the whole DC heroes are gods trying to be people and Marvel heroes are people trying to be gods (with the exception of Thor ofcourse.) I think directors and writers are naturally better at telling the second.

Probably not as hard to figure out as one would think you just have to measure the foot print she left in the second ghost busters movie.

Scarab Sages

Headache again :(

I sent co-worker and Crookshanks in to deal with the aliens in the the northerly stone supply yard.

So they can finally understand what I usually have to deal with.

Ha! The aliens f#%$ed us again! This is why I keep telling the boss and co-worker not to deal with the aliens.

My top technician and I had to be in the office on Tuesday due to needing to deal with both in=office equipment and getting some new laptops prepped for some remote users.

On Wednesday he told me he had to get a COVID test due to symptoms that showed up on Wednesday.

Today he got the results and he's good. No COVID.

loved the first season. Finally, some positive, Gary-centric programming.

Second season left a bit to be desired. Waaaaay too many extra characters. And this is ME talking.

glad you dodged that bullet.

We have had similar scares (my step-son's father carpool buddy had been exposed - both confirmed negative). Several friends who are HC workers have had co-workers confirm positive (no surprise, but so far all our friends are still testing negative).

I think I am up to 10 people I know who have confirmed positive. One death, although as I think I said here before...she was 95 or so.

stay safe. be smart. wash hands. wear your mask.

Yeah, when I called in to get the warranty repair job on the fridge, I had the typical "conversation with a Texan about the virus". "Oh, no; I won't wear a mask. They're too uncomfortable, and it's too hot around here. And I'm healthy, so I don't have to worry. But I really feel bad for all the people with compromised immune systems who can't leave their homes."

Er... yeah.

If you weren't so d***ed selfish to refuse to put up with a little discomfort to help them out, then maybe they could leave their homes. Heck, if we'd all pulled together and just listened to the doctors we'd likely be in decline right now instead of in a second surge.

*SIGH*

[/tirade]

EDIT: And while I realize that at this point the most logical course of action for the U.S. is to just continue slowly re-opening and allowing the virus to run its course through our population (it's become obvious we can't handle anything requiring any more personal responsibility on the part of our populace), considering that Houston is already near or at capacity and Southern California is already sending ICU patients to Northern California for treatment, that whole "slowly" thing is being completely missed.

The Boss and co-worker were expecting a fireplace you build from the ground up, instead it's a three piece set that you build a veneer around.

So, it should be a shorter day today.

And a fairly interesting Monday (as everyone gathers in a circle talking about how to do it while I quietly get it all done in the background).

Not really a counter point, but an observation. The initial response from the medical community was pretty much universally - wash your hands, don't shake hands, don't touch your face.

A little later it was social distancing, and only much later wear a mask.

Meanwhile in Arizona, we have 150 ICU beds open and hospitals are now allowed to triage patients based on chance of survival. >:(

In other news, I'm starting an elimination diet this weekend. I'm hoping that my digestive problem over the last year is caused by some allergy that I'll discover, though honestly I'm pessimistic. But g#~%+@n I'm tired of eating like a bird and still feeling like a stuffed turkey.

I believe someone started a petition to recall the mayor because she's making everyone wear masks in public buildings or because she didn't tear gas enough minorities, I'm not sure which, probably both.

Oh, yeah. The medical community deserves a lot of the blame. Their initial, "Don't wear a mask because it won't help you," followed up by, "Never mind, please wear a mask because it protects other people," is a strong arguing point for the whole anti-mask movement.

But no one ever wants to say, "I don't know," so they say something, and in this particular case, a lot of what they said did more harm than good as it's being brought pack to accuse them of being clueless.

Nothing good has ever happened on a birthday I chose to celebrate.

Your experiences may vary.

There was the time when I was forced to march in a parade behind a former manure spreader turned in to a float when it was ninety degrees out and got sick and I fell asleep exhausted afterwards and everyone ate the Batman cake and my mom never made the cake again.

And of course the year I actually got my parents to throw me a party and it snowed.

And then of course the year I happened to be walking home past the hardware store, five minutes after the alarm was set off and was suddenly swarmed by police with guns drawn I spent over an hour being searched and questioned by the police.

At any rate, Happy birthday, Tacticslion!

Stay safe and healthy!!
