Wow... gotta LOVE Production.

TWO WEEKS AGO:
Our Team: We'll be ready to hand off on Friday the 22nd.
Production: We can't possibly take the files before Friday the 29th.
NobodysHome (To manager): That's actually awesome news! I can leave the review cycle open a bit longer since we're getting really good feedback, and take care of the updates after the holiday.
Manager: Sounds good!

LAST NIGHT AT MIDNIGHT:
Production Bot: We have rescheduled your production to start Wednesday the 27th. Please have the files in place no later than the 26th.
Production Worker: Where are all your files?!?!? You were supposed to have uploaded them by the 22nd!!!

So yeah, I'm heads-down today trying to do in a single day what I was planning on taking a week to do carefully.

Because pulling in the deadline by several days the morning of the deadline is just awesomeness...

Anyone ever wanted to make a DnD monster based off a 5-horned fanged deer that really existed? Use the Hoplitomeryx as a guide!

Well, on Sunday, I went to sleep past 7 am in the morning of Monday, because of deadline. Thought that one was all on me. I had almost two weeks to finish it. Self-twisting sleep schedules didn't help, though.

Hello, everyone!

So Scint and I have quartered off an hour and a half/two hour block of our day lately to focus on our creative projects - her writing her novels and me working on my PF Classic adventures.

The one I'm working on now involves hobkins gremlins showing up to wreak havoc at an autumn equinox harvest festival. I was taking some time to explain some of the setups to Scint, including a couple using their combined illusions to trick people into thinking someone had fallen in a well then pelting them with sling bullets, and another pair maneuvering some guard dogs into destroying their owner's brewing equipment.

Her immediate quip was, "not to mention all the saves you have to make against contracting non-hobkins lymphoma."

<headdesk> The puns, they hurt...

This is the price for leaving TN. You no longer have an escape from the puns.

It's 82°F with a light breeze.

I'm sure lisamarlene will be reading about the apocalypse on FB tonight.

As I've mentioned countless times, air conditioning is virtually nonexistent in homes and apartments around here, but it's ubiquitous in office buildings. So with everyone working from home, the poor, poor people dealing with 80°F interior temperatures for the first time in their Bay Area lives are going to be having a massive whinefest.

I lived in Davis as a grad student. I couldn't afford to have my AC set below 80°F during the summer.

We haven't put in our window AC units yet. It's only 80* here in the Hudson Valley, but my mid-century modern house has west-facing floor-to-ceiling windows so the place heats up like a greenhouse. Fortunately there is a breeze coming through the open windows.

The weather is supposed to be the same tomorrow. It will be my birthday and I was planning on baking bread and making boeuf bourguignon. I will be saving my ingredients for Thursday when it will be cooler. My birthday dinner might be hotdogs. That is okay if I can look forward to my French couisine the next day.

For the last week I've been wondering why I keep waking up early filled with anxiety or why my sinuses have felt swollen or what the sudden neck pain is about.

This morning at work it dawned on me it's been a year exactly since I nearly severed my nose from my face.

Man, I love it when it gets above 80.

Any excuse to wear the least amount of clothes possible.

Change of plans. Moving the hotdogs up to tonight. Was going to grill up some frozen shrimp on skewers along with some asparagus - I will do that tomorrow for my birthday instead.

They are quite my name.

In other news, I've found a ready and easily replenishable source of prime meat!

Don't tell anyone it's wolf and fox, they won't know the difference once it's been cooked and prepared.

Now, there's a tower on top of that wall with my name on it, and a view from which I can scout out all manner of new cuisine! Huzzah!!

So, I've complained about it before, and I'll complain about it again: People who walk down residential streets with their phones on speakerphone at maximum volume, yelling into the phone and broadcasting the entire conversation throughout the neighborhood.

Admittedly, I grew up backpacking; getting used to the sound of silence and getting comfortable with your own thoughts is part and parcel of spending two weeks hiking alone for hours on end in the wilderness. So many people need some kind of noise or distraction as they walk/run/jog/drive/whatever. I can accept that, even if I'm not that kind of person.

But broadcasting your private phone call to the neighborhood? Nobody wants that! Spend $15 on a pair of earbuds for your $400 phone already!

The Irradiated template exists and we do have plans for a plot later that takes place in the ground zero of where some archmages magic-nuked a dragon.

STOP GIVING DREJK MORE HORRIFYING IDEAS FOR MAKING MORE HORRIFYING CRITTERS!!!
The funny thing is is that Orthos' exact response to the hobkins comment I made earlier was "I hate that I want to stat this."
The Irradiated template exists and we do have plans for a plot later that takes place in the ground zero of where some archangel magic-nuked a dragon.

...oh, dear. Are you sure that was one of ours?

EDIT: awwww, you fixed it

I think It's Claws gran isn't posting his jokes. It makes things a bit more polar towards quiet without him around. Even if his jokes are a bit hairy.

I recently found a round, black piece of plastic, with a hole in the middle and grooves on both sides. I picked it up and threw it. It flew for more than 300 yards.
I'm sure that must have been a record.
