I am very, very scared.
Not so much for myself but for my children, and WW, and his mom, all of whom have been exposed if I have it.And I felt perfectly normal yesterday.
I'm also hoping you are OK, and that you weren't infected. My allergies (still pretty mild, all things considered) have been acting up this past week, and the air conditioning has dropped the apartments humidity enough that the much dryer air has given me an occasional cough.
If I figure out how I broke the panic attack center of my brain, I'll let you know how I did it.
If we can do anything to help, or even make you feel a bit better, let us know, ok?
This.
Also, for what it's worth, before everyone was quite as scared, I thought I might have had some version of it, so we were a bit nervous. (I'll have lost the fever symptom a week ago this Saturday? Or maybe Sunday? I'unno.)
Fortuitously I, the walking bag of bad-health that I am, came through it. Might not have been it (my Eldest had the sick first, then I got it from him, pretty direct line), but we're being careful as if it was. Either way, I had those symptoms. Doesn't mean everyone will go through it the same way, but please let us know how you're doing! Hugs from across the internet!
EDIT: Outside of quoting someone else, I can't see my post and have no idea which page it is on. Either way: *gets dressed*

OK.
You have a Gundam army, Freehold has a Gundam army, although I imagine his is less practically dressed.
Providing I'm not caught in the middle of it, you two go right ahead.

Oh no. I'm building a Transformers (fembot) army. The only thing a Gundam or Macross mech is good for is as a source for more Transformers parts.
Once we crush Freehold's forces, we move on to obliterate Michael Bay.

I have no idea whether to be proud or appalled.
Tonight was lentil curry night.
Impus Major declared it the best curry I've ever made.
He's had my lamb curry.
I am pride and sadness.
When your own perfection is your greatest enemy...
On the other hand...
Isn't he the absent-minded and forgetful one? Maybe the quality of the lamb curry slipped out of his mind?
You could try to make the lamb curry some time from now and see if he declares it the best curry you ever made?

So about six hours ago they made the announcement that everyone should Stay At Home*.
So *exactly nothing* changes for me, except now we'll have even *more* idiots who don't understand that keeping 6' away from people is recommended showing up at work demanding to know when we're going to get hand sanitizer/toilet paper/baby wipes/cleaning wipes/paper towels/rubbing alcohol/aloe vera gel/hydrogen peroxide/flour/sugar/milk/eggs...
...and the sinking realization that even if we get everything we order, it's going to be weeks of work to restock effectively plus we *don't* just get a 'vacation' when everything 'goes back to normal'...

My favorite thing about today came from The Chicago Tribune, covering the announcement:
"Grabbing takeout, ordering an Uber, taking a long walk or dropping off dry cleaning are all still permitted. The order even allows liquor stores to remain open for business should the second week of impromptu homeschooling create an essential need."

Y'know what, screw it... go big or go home and all that.
We're sitting here, taking the hits, taking all the risks, we get something F'in HUGE out of this.
No, not a pay raise ( big effin' deal)
No, not some sort of commendation (ditto)
No, not health insurance (already got it)
Nah, what we should get, at NO charge, is advanced education, up to a Doctorate if we so desire, completely free of charge (including the fees for staying at a dorm or whatnot). AT THE INSTITUTION OF OUR CHOICE.
If folks deem us so effin' necessary, then they need to put the money where the mouth is.
EDIT:
NH?
Yes.

Of COURSE liquor stores are essential!
I didn't start drinking until I was over 30, and I know that!;P
(My favorite post in that article? "You cannot close both schools and liquor stores! Think of the parents!") :)

Downside of working from home on extended basis on deadline driven tasks - every day looks pretty much the same and if you are already up at 4 AM and your gym is closed, you might as well knock out the next project so you can have family time while it is daylight.
On the positive, we have scheduled our roll20 test drive today with sunless citadel as the guinea pig module. We all know it and can maybe more readily understand the platform since we are not focusing on the story.
On the more positive, my paint station is set up and maybe, just maybe I will resume painting some of the miniatures in my box of shame.
On the still more positive, scheduled pool opening so we have that option if weather permits.
On the also positive, we are not on complete lock down, so I may be able to get bike out and put a few miles on the greenway if weather permits.
On the bestest positive of the general stay at home order - we have finally managed to get our toddler mostly potty trained. He was resisting heavily. But always have mom or dad around (instead of school/daycare personnel - not knocking them, but it is not their priority/job) has gotten him to focus on the what/why/just do it.
So yay?

Calmer now. Today is the second day of the high pollen alert, but we closed the windows again yesterday and turned on the air system inside the house, and I had a drink with dinner last night and got about nine hours of sleep, and I woke up with my chest feeling almost normal. So it appears it was likely a terrible combination of allergies/anxiety attack. Scary A.F., though.
I'm really, really sorry for freaking out at all of you yesterday.

MrT made me bacon cheese pancakes. That helps a lot.
You (and everyone else) are entitled to be worried, to be scared, to have panic attacks. This is real. This is some scary sh!t with which we are all trying to cope, with varying degrees of success. Your brain is just trying to process an overload of scary stimuli from an abundance of sources, and most of the few sensible valid steps we've been given don't do much (if anything) to help most of us feel like we're adequately protecting our loved ones and ourselves from this very real, but insidiously invisible threat.
You're having a perfectly sane response to an insane world.
I am glad you have Mr. T (and hopefully others) in your life who can help ease you back down and/or blunt the sharper edges. If any of us can help you*, even if it feels like it's stupid, please let us know, ok?
(* That goes for the rest of you too, ok?)
Thank you

Well, whatever I've got, I'm getting downright tired of it. Did about 1.8 miles with Impus Major today, came back, and have a 99.4˚F fever. Considering I've had a low-grade fever on and off for weeks now, I'm fairly sure it's hay fever, but it's really annoying to have pretty much *no* other symptoms.
It's like, "Hey, body! I understand you want to feel sick sometimes, but can you at least make up your mind and get it over with?"
Unfortunately, this is all totally normal for me from late February through mid-May. Have I mentioned I have bad hay fever?

There are two types of motorcyclist in this world. Those who have crashed, and those who are going to crash. And there's very, very few of the second.
My number already came up. Like anyone with their first motorcycle, I misjudged something. Had to go over a trench to get onto the incline up my driveway, then go over two steel railings. Gave it too much throttle, came in at an angle instead of head on, got intimately familiar with a stone and iron fence. Luckily, I came in shoulder first, right onto my jacket, which is a pretty good motorcycle jacket, and as such actually absorbed most of the blow. My helmet absorbed some, too, the bike just got some scratches because I hit first and ended up between the bike and the fence, and all I ended up with was some bruises and a sprained finger.
So, yea. Good motorcycle gear. Pricey, but it just paid for itself by virtue of the fact that I'm enbarassed instead of hospitalized right how.
Also, should have walked that bike. Throttling up a driveway is bad news, crossing those two metal rails is bad news, and that trench is just unsafe. Ideally, I'd have just pulled the bike up with the clutch, but the trench prevents that, so in the future, I need to walk it.

You learned an important lesson.
I would much rather it be this one than "I'm sure I can squeeze between these two cars!" because you would be the latter.

Well, today should be "interesting".
It'll be my first major Roll20 session since the Serpent's Skull game disintegrated in late 2018, and those sessions were 2-2.5 hours, while this one is scheduled for 5 hours, which'll be significantly harder. Plus, GothBard is very much like Esmerelda trapped in Notre Dame in the Disney movie: She just doesn't do well with walls, and is going very stir-crazy, very fast, so when I suggested that it would be easier for me if everyone used a remote connection, she immediately nixed that idea with, "I spend too much time in that studio anyway! I'm going to be at the table!"
Trouble is, that means that instead of a simple headset I need to set up speakers and a microphone that'll pick both of us up, plus run the projector, plus manage her token. It's a PITA, but if it'll help her sanity, it's worth doing.
I guess that's the advantage of being a troll. "Oh, no! I can't go out into the big, open world! What will I do?"
...(Snuggles into his corner and enjoys a justification for not having to go out)...
"Absolutely nothing!"
