Wow! The terrible reviews do not do it justice for how truly terrible it is!

I've only watched 22 minutes... This might be a multi day affair.

Edit: Yes, I've decided since I can't afford a hazmat suit I'm going the other way in order to repulse the corona virus.

You're already on easy mode! Why is this a problem? Some of us didn't have a dishwasher growing up, and got saddled with the job of doing it by hand when we got tall enough to reach the sink.

You know what, just find something else that's circular and is less necessary, if it's an issue. You've got to have something in the house that fits that bill. A clock? A frisbee? A circular potholder? Something.

Some of us still don't have a dishwasher. I guess technically it's "don't have one again" since I have had dishwashers most places I've lived, but don't now.

I've never had a working dishwasher.

Frankly, I don't want one, I've seen how they "wash" dishes, I'm not impressed.

I've had some that really sucked and one that was practically magic. Most have been okay, you just had to get any crusty stuff off first.

Yeah I saw it in theaters the day it came out I don't think I've ever been more disappointed with a movie. Still didn't walk out. Only movie I ever walked out on was elektra but avatar may have still been worse hard call really.

I didn't walk out on Elektra, but there was one scene where the makeup was so 'off' it made the actress appear to be in-transition to another gender. When it was 'okay' for the rest of the movie, it kind of messed with perceptions.

When we went to see Bram Stoker's Dracula at a theatre in Guam ages ago (in the Navy at the time) I'd just gotten off a 48-hour duty rotation. I remember the intro, and then I remember one of my buddies waking me up by throwing an empty popcorn container at me to wake up.

When I went to see Attack of the Clowns Clones, I'd pulled a double shift the night before. The 'romantic' music would put me to sleep, and then the action tunes would wake me up.

So when we left the theatre, I was actually pretty impressed at how much *action* there was in a Star Wars movie (after Phantom Menace) and I couldn't figure out why people were disgusted and wanted their money back.

And then someone started talking about the 'romantic' scenes and I was like "Wait, what, there was WHAT in the movie?"

Oh yeah episode 1 2 and 3 are great if you just watch the action scenes.

Unless you have your own bar, you can't get draught beer at home.

Is it 4x as good? Because if it's "rather better" that seems to me like it should cost about 1.5x as much. Doesn't seem to justify the price to me, and surely not the annoying drunks.

But when you're sober, (or even less drunk than they are,) drunk people are really annoying. I don't think I've met a more annoying group in my life.

That's because they have a regular supply. You'd be surprised how uppity we get when you take it away.
I'm from Brooklyn, the main reason I hate weed is because of how people act on 4/20 and how ugly many potheads get when they find out they arent getting any/you arent secretly into weed.

Truth is, I just get depressed if I don't get weed, not angry. But then, that's probably because it's been about the only thing that helps with my depression. Medication is either entirely useless, or has some of the worst side effects.

Some of it literally lowers your dopamine levels. You know dopamine? The brain's reward chemical. The thing that is so wonderful it is the root cause of almost all addiction? Yeah. There's a reason you see so many bipolar and schizophrenic people (we have similar meds; theirs are just in higher doses, usually) end up refusing to take their meds. It actually makes you depressed. Why would a doctor do this? The medical community has some sort of idea that mania is worse than depression, and they will treat it primarily at the cost of ignoring, or even worsening depression.

The a#*@**&s.

I think I've said it before, but exponentially fewer people kill themselves over being manic than depressed...

Frankly, I don't know how I made it through more than 3/4 of my life
without weed.

Drunk people are annoying, but depending where & when you go, you may not have to cope with people off their faces. A nice old man's pub on a weekday evening is unlikely to be full of lairy types.

True, I do remember doing open mic at a couple chill joints where people were only "just drunk enough to be friendly"

mania isn't just feeling good. It is also getting angry when people arent having a good time with you, or are keeping you from having a good time. It is putting your fist through a wall because it is "cool". It is drawing up divorce papers because your spouse won't go to the movies with you. It is not sleeping for 5 straight days and being angry at others because cant keep up with you. Mania has a thousand and one faces, just as depression does.

I dislike boasting, but at least we are not part of the problem.

Our housecleaner texted last night to find out what we wanted to do about the lockdown. After hemming and hawing for about 45 seconds, GothBard asked, "Can't we just pay her to stay at home and not come?"

So yeah, we're a 1-employee household and we're managing to pay our employee sick leave so she can stay safe.

C'mon, corporations, it's not that hard.

(Shiro pointed me to an article where the airline industry is asking for a $58 billion bailout... after spending $45 billion on stock buybacks over the last 11 years. If you're going to behave grossly irresponsibly just to enrich the already-rich, then why should the taxpayers have to bail you out?)

I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

Got into a huge fight last night about me continuing to go to work. However I not only work for a non profit that is the only neighborhood venue for people on my caseload to come to and feel normal and sometimes get something to eat, I am also non union, and without a union backing us, we are at the mercy of the vp, who did indeed say the equivalent of "get back to work". There are no gloves and masks here for us to use provided by our employer, and many, many, many people are angry about that. I could see the non union part changing as a result of this, and a big ugly fight breaking out as it is formed.

Preaching to the choir. I've broken my hand on my wall, lost relationships from pushing things impatiently, and more.

But depression is ALWAYS worse when you're the one going through it.

"Worse than expected with many downsides" still isn't as bad as "100% bad with no upside whatsoever".

It is NEVER worth sacrificing your mind to depression for mania. Anyone who thinks otherwise is like a 13 year old boy saying that single moms have it easy - no f~@@ing idea of what it is truly like. It's like a blind man painting and daring to insist it's art. No. F#&%ing. Idea.

Mania can ruin a life...but depression takes it away entirely. And so I reiterate a heavy and hearty "go f$&! yourself" to every psychiatrist who prioritizes despite the begging of their patients eliminating mania at the cost of depression. I would shave my previous doctors' tongues with a cheese grater for what I went through for years because that is the medical industry's entire modus operandi.
