EDIT: *gets dressed*

Sigh. Of course.

Freehold - who do think N.H. is? Part of me wants to say Prof.X, but Xavier seems a bit too serious and not enough Ex-punk.

CY hit the nail on the head:

Inner Sea Magic declaring that all of a sudden the Thassilonians couldn't use their opposition schools was published in July of 2011.
Curse of the Lady's Light was published in September of 2012.

So of course the author was expected to be aware of the latest rule changes and wasn't.

Which is another reason I prefer companies that focus on expanding their campaign settings and published adventures, rather than new rule sets: You inevitably run into conflicts when running older modules.

Ah, well, the poster was "right", but I'm not blaming the author one bit for it.

Except the rule is not a general Thassilonian magic rule, but merely an ability of a specific wizard archetype. So if the character in question was not Thassilonian specialist then everything is ok. The adventures tend to focus on main books archetypes most of the time anyway.

*takes away NobodysHome's old man's cane*

Extremely Minor Shattered Star Spoiler:
Considering that the complaint is about Sorshen herself casting Gentle Repose on a corpse the PCs find during their exploration of one of her ruins, I think the whole, "She couldn't have cast that, she's a Thassilonian specialist," is a fair cop.

(grabs cane back)

Maybe Limey is that one Captain America villain with a sword? Oh! Or maybe the Black Knight?

Drejk may be Forge - hard working, creative, and rarely rewarded enough for his awesome.

Lisa Marlene is like Forge - hard working, creative, and rarely rewarded enough for her awesome.

CY could be Forge - hard working, creative, and rarely rewarded enough for his awesome.

I'm kind of like a mix between Cyclops and the Beast. I like ordering people around and have a fairly good sense of tactics (hence Cyclops), but I'm not a whiny helpless angsty boy.

But I'm not as cool as hairy Beast. Maybe pre-hair Beast. He was a total loser.

Man, it will never stop being weird to me that they turned Cyclops into such a... ah, hm. “Loser.” Yeah, that’s the word.

I’ll probably be bitter about that forever.

Hey! Human Beast Hank was awesome, too! Did you see the size of his hands and feet!

I will say, I’m not certain if I’m supposed to be furry beast because of my name or if he’s too cool for me. Most definitely too cool. Maybe during that one angsty part in the early aughts where someone thought it was a good idea to make all their lives suck more and ruin everyone’s relationships for no real reason. But my family relationships and my friendships with you guys are awesome, so I guess not that one, either.

Regardless, it’s okay - I know the ones who I’d want, but I virtually guarantee those are not my superhero expies. XD

I don't really know enough comics to weigh in, and I'm kind of afraid to see what you do with me.

Either Scint-Woman, with her powers of growth(Grows exactly one foot in height[no variation], and is able to reach things no normal Scint ever could without the aid of a stepladder), or a power like semi nerfed Prodigy, where you have a super eidetic memory and dont forget anything you learned.

Yeah, I will never understand some players.

GM NobodysHome: OK, I've agreed to take a turn GM'ing by popular request, but due to time constraints I'm going to be running an unmodified AP. These things are all written in "easy mode", so here are the only books I'm allowing without explicit permission, and you should avoid overkill builds because you will find the fights boring if you do that stuff.

Players: Sounds great! Let's play!

(Sessions pass, and by the time the players are 5th level the encounters have become utterly meaningless)

Players: Y'know, NobodysHome, these encounters really seem too easy!

(One of the players invokes an ability whereby everybody within 30' gets his teamwork feat for a number of rounds, so NobodysHome starts reviewing the offending players in Hero Labs. Cheese build. Check. Disallowed books. Check.)

So... if I tell you I'm NOT going to adjust the fights and you're going to have to control your power gamer impulses, and you just can't, don't come whining to me that the fights are too easy.

Just sayin'.

Maybe you should have listened to that whole, "This is going to be a really rich storytelling AP, so focus on non-combat feats and skills as well," discussion we all had.

I'll happily do Xavier with a mohawk.

But Patrick Stewart is cooler.

Jokes aside, I'm guessing you think of Aquaman because of Momoa, CY? I can see that! Though I'd put you akin to Wolverine: you're the best there is at what you does, bub, and you're tough enough to take a beating and keep on going!

For the record:

Forge (he was one of my favorite character concepts back in the day)

Jubilation Lee (she was a kidhood crush, of sorts, back in the day; it helped that she was the POV character for the X-Men cartoon, and the designated side-kick of the Wolverine comics)

Cyclops (Scott used to be awesome; now he is whiny and a jerk - a move I think they made to make Jean's "thing" with Wolverine more palatable, though it feels to me more like it just makes everyone worse)

Hank McCoy (a sometime Avenger, member of the X-Men, played by Frasier in the movies, and all-around awesome dude)

Black Knight (a reincarnating knight spirit what gives the villains a good thwacking)

Professor X (awesome telepath; can't walk; dreams of peaceful co-existence; former best friends with the villain)

Wolverine (fierce, tough, regenerating mutant; super cool)

Hercules (come on, you all know Herakles; I'm sure you've seen the biography done on him by Disney! Also, I totally linked the wrong Hercules, previously.)

Tony Stark (I mean, come one, if you've seen the Marvel movies - any of them - you probably know who he is!)

I think that's all we've mentioned so far?

EDIT: minor corrections

Limey can only be one person.

Drejk would make more sense as a certain anti-hero/villain

Yeesh! Terrible writeup for a guy whose powers were super interesting!

Lisamarlene, with all the work she does, reminds me more of her than Forge.

EDIT: updated!

(The following are in alphabetical order by poster name.)

(These are my personal canon, though I can be swayed.)

(I'm much more familiar with Marvel, so there's gonna be a bias, there.)

Supers so far:

CY + Wolverine (alternately: Aquaman via Momoa)
Drejk + Mobley
Freehold + Hercules (Marvel)
Limey + UJ
LM + Spiral
NH + Xavier (with mohawk)
Scint + Jubilee
Sharoth + Beast

oooooooh.

I'm sorry I misunderstood.

Spiral has changed somewhat over the years. She is now more of an antihero, and is in the running to be the next sorcerer supreme if Strange and Brother Voodoo kick off.

Besides you can't tell me you would not enjoy having 6 arms. You would multitask like a mofo. And the kids would become INCREDIBLY OBEDIENT. Y'know because mom/miss lisamarlene KNOWS ACTUAL MAGIC.

I had to write 6 arms as a number because my phone kept turning it into sex arms.

Which I totally wouldn't give you.

So gran is Morph for obvious reasons.
Clearly i'm wolverine because of all the facial hair. Oh and my 6 inch razor sharp blades that extend out of my hands.

If you wanted to compromise with CY since he likes aquaman but that is DC he could be Namor who is technically a mutant and I think has been on the x-men a few times.

He does come back in later episodes.

You know in the last episode where they added him back to the team they made him super OP. Unlike mystique who just copies the appearance in the last episode he had the powers of the mutant he turned into. It was kind of insane.
