Would I do that? Like it's a thing to do? I got more sense than that!

So anyway, after I hit F5...

Bad middle-school joke:

Person 2 "Sure"
Person 3 "How did you get their little legs apart?"

Wow. Happy New Year!

Awake already because I have to go pick up the kids from Grandma's.

There's nothing like trying to sleep when your neighbor has a huge party and is blasting cumbia and Norteño past 3:30 a.m. We did NOT call the cops, because they're usually pretty quiet, and if you can't whoop it up a little on NYE, when can you?

But WW has to go open the kitchen at the food hall this morning.

There will be So. Much. Coffee.

And since I have the opposite sense of smell as Cap, mine get triggered by smells that nobody else notices (or they notice it 5-15 minutes after I already announced it) or I simply wake up with one due to my neck issues.

I rarely see auras, but usually its light sensitivity and nausea.

Its just the stress. It was just MrT and me this year with new year, and the fireworks stress me out so much. With other people in the house I'm distracted from most of it.

Of course there were teenagers throwing fireworks in gardens last night. And today there is still fireworks going off so I'm a stressed out teary mess.

Since we're now back in the Roaring Twenties, my New Year's resolution is to learn how to make bathtub gin.

Any chance of planning to get away someplace quiet next year?

You know what, I need to add quiet rooms to the abscondi-cave.

You take swarm damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 2) = 15 plus cold damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 5, 4) = 20, and make a Fortitude saving throw against DC of 20 to avoid being nauseated, and suffering creeping frost penalties.

Oxycodone makes me suuuper drowsy.

I've realized the real danger of me getting addicted to painkillers: With my history of insomnia and oxy putting me under like nothing else, I'll be tempted to seek out more just to be sure of a good night's sleep. And given how well it masks the symptoms of a diabetic sugar-low, I could end up literally sleeping the sleep of the dead.

So bonus points for sudden-death addiction, wooo!

Recognizing it as a potential problem is a big step towards not letting it happen.

There was still fireworks going off yesterday, but not a lot. So I calmed down. Head feels better. Have developed lower back pain. Could be stress. Could be the onset of age.

At least I'm back at work, which is located away from residences, so it will be hopefully firework free.

When you're working outside and with limited bathroom options and a firm grasp of sanitary conditions you train your body to go when you're in the comfort (and known sanitary conditions) of your own home.

Ymmv, obviously, but that's how I roll.

The nice thing about being a senior member for a professional company that cares about safety is I get to go to off-season safety conferences.

I have two already I have to go to this month, one for digger's hotline and the other for trenches, or trench warfare, I'm not a hundred percent sure on which.

I always take breaks when working outside to ensure I dont injure myself.

Nothing like getting back to work, finding out that the rest of the team is out for the rest of the week, and then getting asked to do something utterly stupid.

As I might have mentioned, we didn't have any work for December, so we were helping out another team by recording demos for them. Cue handing off recordings to the editors who started a cycle of endless nitpicking to the point of my manager openly declaring that she was never going to make this mistake again.

So, since I'm in charge of the department this week (by complete accident), the editing team just came back to me with a doozie. On one video, we weren't supposed to do ANY recording; we were just supposed to update the intro and outro and leave the rest of the recording intact. So not our voice, not our work, just editing someone else's file.

We did it and handed off. The editing team has declared the audio unacceptable and wants us to re-record it.

So... the audio on the old video? The old video that YOU passed two years ago? The audio that you said was just fine when OUR team wasn't doing it? THAT audio?

Yeah, I said, "No," because I can get away with it.

It's good to be old and grumpy.

Not being overly enthusiastic about Age of Ashes and being frustrated in trying to make a character without character sheets I'd decided to wait for the APG before giving 2nd edition Pathfinder a serious try.

Then my brothers made fun of it all party long and I happened to find character sheet pack on sale.

So guess what we're doing this week.
