Heh.
I can help!
Here is an article that hates it, but the reasons feel kind of flat and a bit hipsterish to me; effectively hatred leveled at the game seems, "It's only funny because racism." which... no... and, "I hate corporations, because they hate anyone who isn't a white male." which... again, this seems just not as valid a reason to reject the game. There are many reasons for saying a game isn't good; these are not really well-developed.
This negative review is actually more reasonable, noting that it feels quite insincere and is shallow.
Almost all the reviews on Steam are positive - and most are hilarious.
... I'm sincerely tempted to play the game with some KFC, though.
(So, you know, it worked.)
EDIT: for a bit of clarity, maybe.

No idea how that would have happened.

In a slightly more reasonable questionable life choice, does anyone know how either the wife or I can actually play Grand blue fantasy? It’s not available on the App Store, even though it seems like it should be, and although we could get to the website, select English, and play a new game, and whatever button comes after that, it then would spend an inordinately long time loading. It never actually stopped supposedly loading enough for us to actually play. Just a black screen and the words loading until we both gave up.

No, although I find that particular menu item slightly less outlandish than many others did. I mean, if you’re actually avoiding carbs, it’s not that bad. The fact that they put bacon in it, though. Look, Internet, I get it-I really do. But there is such a thing as too much bacon.

Sure, weird, persistent problems are fun to solve. But I'm telling you, 75% is user error, and at least another 10% is user error that we have a fix build in for but they are too stupid to find the button for.
For example: We have a problem with firefox process remaining active in a user profile. We have a button in everyone's start menu, literally named 'reset firefox'.
People are too dumb to find the button.

And when anything between 60-80% of the reported problems that come in on a daily basis boil down to "you're doing it wrong"...and it's the same people day after day, week after week reporting the same problems...it gets very hard not to say the "you're doing it wrong" part out loud.
And when it's "either the username or password you entered is incorrect" and they insist IT has to do something about them not typing their password or username correctly...well...I can't make you type correctly. "I DID TYPE IT RIGHT!" Obviously not, or you'd be in and not getting this error. By the way, how do you spell your name, because that looks really close to "Jenofski" and not "Smith".

It's stupidity born of royal arrogance. So one learns not to question the orders upon penalty of torture/death, and for most people that's a good enough motivator to sail into a demonic hurricane, which they'll be doing regardless of the one person standing up to say this is stupid.

It's back end code that you have to have to make other stuff run properly. The program is basically looking for code that resides in that Redist Package.
That stuff is usually some rather universal/basic functions that a lot of different programs need to leverage, so rather than recreating the wheel with every program, they just point to that package as a requirement.

Five seconds in and I got a successful game over!
I wasn't sure it would let me, but it does! Nice!
Okay. Having intentionally done poorly, it's a fun game, though I'm headed out, briefly, and thus not going to keep going for now.
So it is just as shallow as that second negative review accused it of being, and it's rather glorious.
It is a strictly a joke-cum-advertisement, and it's pretty slick. The opening animation is smooth, the art is lovely, and the music is both professional and tremendously over-the-top trope-y. You know the music. You really, really do.
Also, most of the "correct" answers are stupendously obvious, and there is literally no one to date other than the colonel. I do think it would be better if there had been other options, but the entire thing is to set up how terrific the Colonel is.
It has Demon City: Shinjuku-levels of dialogue, and this not a bad thing. It feels like a poorly-done dub at times, but in a good way. I am certain it doesn't go for any deep cuts - the humor is rather surface-level and the dialogue feels phoned in, but because of what this is, it actually feels like it's supposed to feel phoned in... making it seemingly pretty decent. Over-all, it's free, I ate some chicken, and have no real regrets.

It also seems to crash for some games when Steam attempts to install it for them despite it already being installed (hidden conflicts with security programs perhaps?). I often end opening Task Manager to kill the installer to actually play the game if the "installation" process lasts too long (it should be rather quick process, depending on connection speed).

You better be right on this one.
Note - dubbed dialogue. I don't know about subs. (Or Japanese.)
The difference is that this is intentional, and not voice acted.
(It's not as good as the The Devil is a Part Timer dialogue, because that was not only intentional, but heeeeaaavily and cleverly referential to all sorts of nerd culture. But the DC:S analogy works just in how completely... doofy it is. I cannot guarantee that the magic will be there for you. It's a dumb commercial of a game. But the same level of nonsense is there.)
