Meanwhile, if you're in the mood for some well done stupid physical comedy, here's How Animals Eat Their Food.
Not having had time to see that yet, I suspect it is much like I do...

Why did Karl Marx hate Earl Grey? Because all proper tea is theft.
That was Proudhon...

Yes, happy birthday!
I'd say something funny (or at least something I think is funny) but I have to conserve energy so I don't have a heat stroke at work.
Maybe in a couple of weeks.

Well, I finally got my Mac Mini up and booted for the trip, but for all the wrong reasons: We used a booking site to reserve High Tea at the Ritz, they charged us for the booking, then they didn't pay the Ritz, so the Ritz charged us as well. It's easy enough to write nastygrams to such booking sites to get your refund, but painful enough that I prefer an actual keyboard.
So this morning was the Tower of London and this afternoon was tea at the Ritz. Over half our party is drooping (especially since it hit 80˚F in London today), so it's a good thing tomorrow's a travel day: We're heading out of King's Cross(ing?) in the morning, and hitting Edinburgh in the late afternoon, which'll give us just enough time to find our hotel, unpack, grab dinner, wander the town a little at night, and get to bed.
The rest of the week is a car tour of Scotland before returning to Edinburgh. Should be a blast!
EDIT: I think that's the difference between gran and vidmaster's clientele and us: We KNOW the people at the front desk didn't have anything to do with us and can't help us out, so we take care of them, get double-billed for a while, and then get our money back through the "proper" channels. I know I'll be reimbursed eventually, so I don't sweat it in the meantime. And I don't yell at the staff over it, since they have NO CONTROL over 3rd-party sites.

Weird... Did I hear gran chuckle? Or was that Vid?

I would be cursing up a storm to the appropriate parties, especially as the hotel I was in most recently decided to inform me last minute they would be charging incidentals by the day.
“Appropriate parties” is the issue. Neither my waiter nor the restaurant manager had anything to do with the booking, so yelling at them would just be venting at an innocent party. And big hotels like the Ritz usually have their booking IT off-site anyway, because space is precious (and they can hide from complaints).
Orthos’ point is valid, though I’m thinking in this particular case (high tea at the Ritz), people aren’t shaving it too closely.
Anyway, gotta go join GothBard and Shiro at the pub!
(Totally weird being ahead of (almost) everyone’s day, though.)

Oh, they can laugh, but this was one of those, “Go to the Ritz’ site, click ‘Reserve a Table’, and get redirected to BookATable.co.uk.”
So it’s not third-party shenanigans; it’s your partner screwing up.
Now it’s just a matter of getting the Ritz to lean on them to pay me back. Which they’ll do, because partner, not third-party.

I have some good news! My mother's colonoscopy exam yesterday had a clean result. No polyps, lesions, or scars. The doctor said that she's good for another ten years. I'm pleased.
Happy birthday, Tac!
No problem.

Awwww...
Playmobil was unreachable dream here when I was a kid, seen in a few catalogs of German things we had at home.
Incidentally, I watched a few playmobil set ups on Monday while in shopping mall. The space station was there, as were a castle or two, a dinosaur hunter base, firefighter station, and some others.
The dragon and some knights looked surprisingly similar to some lego designs I know from the past.

I'm normally not one to go English teacher on people for whom English is not their first language.
I just have to say that the word you're looking for is "nibble". "Nipple" is completely different.
