It was pretty accurate for me.

Which tells me a couple of things about myself, 1) I'm uncomplicated, B) would not survive long in The Walking Dead.

What no zombie food alias?

It's not my favorite genre, to be honest.

Besides, I can't take All the aliases.

Yes, that's right.

I think its time for a new Yuugasa. Or mufasa. Whatever.

I too am zombie food. Or I survive by being an a&!&*@!.

I threw away the result when I saw it equated cynicism with psychopathy...

I'd probably be one of the first to fall to zombies.

And now, the highest-stress part of the day: I put up a "No Parking" sign and moved the car to make way for the roofers.

There are enough a$$hat drivers around here that someone is likely to just grab the space anyway, so I'm paying careful attention out my front window to try to chase them off.

Speaking of cynicism....

I don't know how I feel. I'm so conflicted. Clearly. Just look at my numbers. Please, please fill my narcissistic needs and look at my numbers. Oh baby. Those numbers.

We had a guy that moved our cones and parked in our place, so I boxed him in with ten pallets of block for two days.

He wasn't happy, but we didn't care.

I just realized that I can take advantage of garbage day so all my garbage cans are now in the spot. So someone will have to stop their car, move the garbage cans, ignore the No Parking sign, and park.

I honestly don't think anyone's THAT bad around here. And if they are, I'm right here in the living room and I won't feel bad at all about yelling at them.

I'd be that guy that shows up for 3-8 episodes that teaches everyone to hope again only to be tragically beaten/shot/eaten by other people during or leading up to a climactic bloodbath.

For the record the apartment complex sent everyone notices that we were going to be using a bunch of parking spaces and we put out the cones at 7 the night before and there were literally dozens of free spaces to park, and he had an hour to move his car because our block delivery was late.

To say, "There are enough jerks in the world that I should block off the parking spot," is cynical, but not psychopathic.

I thought this seemed familiar! This is dark triad vs. Light triad stuff!

Havent read this in a long, long time.

One should indeed take it with a grain of salt, but it is interesting.

I argue that it's not even cynical, but simply realistic.

Putting up a sign that says "Do Not Park" is an exercise in futility because people don't/can't read. That's cynicism.

light triad and dark triad are misleading anyway as it makes it sound like one set of personality traits is good and the other evil where it has way more to do with social and anti-social.

Also the fact that it's extremely limited and based on self reporting isn't the greatest sign of its usefulness.

its an ugly case of not all cynics in this particular perspective are psychopathic, but all psychopathic individuals in this perspective are cynical. It goes along with the "challenge authority on a regular basis" aspect of psychopathy in this perspective.

also, firmly believing that their way of going about things is not just right but fundamentally correct is an aspect that goes along with a lot of personality issues.

Yeah but that's where a lot more detailed questions would help parse the two, as cynics more often then not care too much, which is what led to their cynicism, while folks with psychopath traits are often that way to justify doing what they like regardless of consequences to others. i.e. "Everyone is a piece of s#+& anyways, who cares what I do to them?"

Depending on how you look at(and heavily reliant upon your position within) society, it is.

tests do suck that way.

Well, I'm using social and anti-social in the psychiatric way.

Tests can be way better than that though, the fact that it shows what is presumably a Jedi and a Sith fighting at the top of the page would create a decent amount of bias about the test going in I'd wager.

Was that illustrating your point well enough, or should I continue?

My strongest dark traits (or whatever they called them) were Machiavelli (whatever that is) and narcissism both at 30%.

A little narcissism isn't always a bad thing.

Both Machiavellian traits(manipulation and lying) and Narcissism(either an inflated sense of self importance and/or a fundamental lack of understanding you aren't the center of the universe) are actually fine in lower doses, it's only when they get pathological that they become seriously destructive.

Manipulation can be used for good in leadership roles and even when you are just uplifting a crowd from a stage, it mostly becomes anti-social(i.e. nasty) when it is used to pit people against each other.

Narcissism is fine in both senses, in the inflated self worth sense, which adds great confidence and leadership skills and only gets really bad when it gets to the Narcissistic abuse stage, where your sense of self is so inflated and godlike other people must be beaten down and dominated least they show you up and put a crack in your sense of superiority.

The fundamental lack of understanding you aren't the center of the universe is fine too and is actually where we all start as babies(supposedly at least) that's one of the reasons babies will scream at all hours of the day and night, they need stuff and have no concept of waking you up and stressing you out.

That's partially why I don't like the 'dark' and 'light' labels, they are just talking about personality traits, not good or bad traits.

Even on the 'light' side those traits become self destructive if they become pathological.

Oh yeah, it's a crap "test" or whatever they call it.

I dunno, I had no issue with the test when I thought it was a silly "Which Kardashian are you?" internet test but when I realized it was trying to be science I was like hey! Do a better job!

Thus proving I'm a giant nerd and also I need to chill out again.

I miss vacation....=(

Anyway, speaking of psychopaths I highly recommend the Killing Eve TV show, it's quite good, though I am wary of spoiling why.

The first season is on Hulu, which is free if you can stomach commercials.

I can't even stand commercials touching my teeth or tongue, let alone making it all the way to my stomach.

Yeah streaming ruined me for commercials, I'll gladly pay a small monthly fee to be rid of them.

Speaking of psycho TV shows, we were originally going to name Tiny T-Rex Dexter and then a week before he was born I told my brother that and he says "like the TV show?" so then I google it and that was the end of that.

We ended up naming him after a comic strip character.

Dude. Next time I'm at your place I'm definitely going to call him Dexter the entire time I'm there.

It won't end well for me.

I was reading some world of darkness stuff not long ago and I have to say this would make a FASCINATING spirit/antagonist for werewolf, mage, or scion(old school, still digesting new school).

You are open to people who have other viewpoints than you, some of the people I work with well and truly are not and need help in dealing with people who think differently than they do.

Ah, Impus Major, dump statting Wisdom AND taking no points in Perception... ever.

"Hey! I'm pretty sure that dumpster in our driveway wasn't there before! I guess that explains all the hammering on the roof."

*SIGH*

As I was typing this, Impus Minor came in and asked, "What's all that banging on the roof?"

I still associate the name with Dexter's Laboratory.
