A friend and I were talking about nicknames. Specifically, the name Dick. He said "It's easy to see how someone could shorten Richard to Rich, or even Rick. But how do you get Dick from Richard?" I said "Buy him a drink".
Keep your pants on rich I haven't bought you a drink yet.

Like even working out 3 times a day I get the are you over exercising thing from them. Hey, it's my body. Shouldn't I know better then you if I'm abusing it? Besides why should I be taking advice from people who don't even get much physical activity in their life or done any research on that subject for that matter.
And what, you're skipping lunch? You'll get gastric! Dudes, don't you know what intermittent fasting means? Sigh, I don't think I'm ever going to be able to explain that one to them.
At the end of the day, it's my body, so what I want to do to myself is my business.

I suppose I could be charitable and saying that they're just trying to show concern, but one thing I hate is people getting in the way when I'm setting out to do stuff. I want to get myself to 110 lbs. So since losing weight is essentially calories in < calories out. Since there's limited amount of time that you can exercise(work and all etc.),you do need to control what you've been eating.
Honestly whoever came up with the 2,000 calories per day thing didn't do us small Asians any favours. If we ate that much, we'd become round tubby balls!
That's not to mention the average office worker doesn't even move around that much so 2,000 calories is waaaay too much.
And of course not eating that amount gets me comments from my family I'm not getting enough nutrition.
I have a body composition machine at my gym and I've been measuring my body composition every 2 weeks to make sure while I'm losing weight, it's fat and not muscle loss. The last time I started getting muscle loss, I quickly moved to correct it by eating a bit more and adding in weights training.
So yes, I'm keeping an eye on things.

Of course I've whined a bit to Vidmaster7 about gaining more muscle(so I get to eat more) but I know it's not realistic to expect that since I know I am running on a caloric deficit.
And I'm distinctively unmotivated to pump weights at the gym and body pump classes are very popular and hard to book classes.

Then I sit around having pizza for breakfast (that I bake myself and top with fish and capsicums) because I don't like eating yoghurt(the healthy ones are sour), and smoothies are a waste of good fruit imo. And Im already drinking milk every morning.
And of course I'd get the complaint on high cholesterol if I ate an egg or two every morning.
Well, I guess this is what you get. A pizza eating cat.

Maths eats the thoughts out of my head!
Though technically if I wanted to maintain my current weight, yes with my physical activity level I can go to 2,000 calories per day.
Also the Singapore government has been very encouraging on working out.
Just look at the whole spread of activities here!
And they're all free! Except for transportation getting there.

Yeah I should get more exercise myself than literally none at all and I admire your self control with food, I don't have it, I'm just rarely hungry, cause, you know.

Hi, everyone! Yes, I know it's early. Again. Supposedly, the morning guard had to go to court this morning. So guess who they found to come in early? For the second day in a row.
So, now I'm sitting down, in moderately-severe pain centered around my lower back. Just took an Aleeve, but I don't think that it'll help much.

Vidmaster7 wrote:Lower back pain? Have you had it looked at?I think that I might've slept wrong.
Ah so like the muscles are tight? Heat should do the trick. get one of those heating things they make just for that. Thermacare I think. I've used it before. It worked OK. It did make my back super sweaty.

Had my little munchkin over the long weekend, went down to Galway to spend it with the rest of the family. Video-called my bro in SF on Sunday, and otherwise took it handy. The little one doesn't like parades, so we went for a walk, Pokémon hunting, in the opposite direction while it was on, so it was nice and peaceful. :) Caught a Rayquaza, but his one got away. :( Oh well, there's always next time! :)

LordSynos wrote:Oh yeah? Not super familiar with anime, though I like it alot, are there some of the other 'go to fantasy world, be godlike' animes you would recommend?Yuugasa wrote:There is kinda an interesting question in that show though, if you were transported to a fantasy world and had basically the power of a god and no real pressing business what would you do with it?
Might be a fun premise for an adventure sometime.
There are so many anime with that story these days, you can see a lot of different takes on it. Overlord is the only one I can think of going the evil route, which is kind of refreshing, but it's starting to wear on me a bit.
I'm actually playing in a similarly themed homebrew RPG atm. We weren't godlike, but the tech we brought with our characters is far beyond that of the world we arrived in, so we're pretty high up there as long as the batteries last. :P
If you're specifically looking for the 'go to fantasy world, be godlike' ones, going from highest recommendation to lowest:
- That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei s!&&ara Slime Datta Ken) - A man who dies a seemingly random death finds himself reincarnated in another world. His dying thoughts are used by whatever unknown force reincarnates him to decide what powers and abilities he has upon rebirth. As a result, the man finds himself as a slime! A particularly over-powered one, at that.
- Gate (Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri) - A gate to another world opens in modern day Japan, and a fantasy army invades! However, they don't know anything about modern Japan, and their weapons and armour are all fantasy scale. They proceed to be decimated by modern firearms, and the story focuses on one of the soldiers that goes back through the gate to investigate. Not Godlike in terms of "Over 9,000!!!!", but yes in terms of modern military gear making any obstacle they face effectively meaningless.
- The Saga of Tanya the Evil (Youjo Senki) - An atheist salaryman in Japan dies, and finds himself confronted by a being claiming to be God. He refuses to acknowledge that the being could be God, as a non-believer himself, and refers to him as Being X. Frustrated by the man's refusal to acknowledge him, Being X reincarnates the man in the body of a young orphan girl in another world. The once-salaryman has to survive long enough to die a natural death, or his soul will apparently be removed from the cycle of reincarnation. As the name might suggest, he's not overly pleasant in how he goes about ensuring his survival.
- In Another World with My Smartphone (Isekai wa Smartphone to Tomo ni.) - A young teenager is accidentally killed by God. To make it up to him, God resurrects the youth, but can't send him back to Earth, as he's dead there. Instead, he sends the boy to a fantasy world, granting him one special request. Our protagonist chooses to bring his smartphone with him, which God modifies to make it still functional in the new world. God also powers up the kid, so he doesn't get himself killed. Adventures ensue. FYI, there's harem stuff in this, so if that's not your thing, best give it a miss. It didn't bother me at all, but I know some people are touchy about that kind of thing.
- Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody (Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku) - A game programmer falls asleep at his work desk and wakes up in an MMORPG he was working on. In the first five minutes, he uses an overpowered boost item (he had put in the game for new players) and winds up max level. He then proceeds to become an adventurer, while trying to keep his actual power level a secret from those around him. Similar to smartphone, there's harem stuff in this one too. If memory serves, not to the same extent, but it's there.
- How Not to Summon a Demon Lord (Isekai Maou to Shoukan Shoujo no Dorei Majutsu) - A socially reclusive gamer finds himself summoned to another world, which is based off an MMORPG in which he had an extremely high-level character. He possesses the avatar of his character and, not knowing how to interact with people normally, starts roleplaying as if he was actually his character, who was nicknamed a Demon Lord in-game for how overpowered he was. Very heavy of the harem stuff, safely into ecchi territory. Again, didn't bother me, but if it's something you don't like, just skip it.
There's quite a few others that I like, but the protagonists don't have god-like power, either just being relatively-strong compared to most others, or really just average, but get involved in grand adventures anyways. Several of them, I would recommend before those in the list above, but they're not what you were asking about, so I've left them off for now.
There are also a bunch more that have translated light novels/manga, but haven't been made into anime yet. I don't know much about them though, light novels ain't my thang. :P

I gave up on Forgotten realms quite some time back. Just found the newer books not to my taste. Think I dropped it around the avatar series.
Also LM - have you baked with whole wheat flour before? If you have, what is it like?
It's slower to rise in anything baked with yeast. I typically use 1/3 whole wheat to 2/3 bread flour or all-purpose flour, depending on what I'm making. Avoid "white whole wheat", it doesn't have the flavor and it's rather pointless.
But you should be asking Captain Yesterday, not me. He's the pastry chef. I'm just a cook.

I am rapidly learning that Steam is a guarantee of disappointment for me:
[snip]
As Orthos was saying, it looks like you just picked some bad games for you. As you said under L4D, you don't like FPSes, and 3 of the 5 games you mention are FPSes. And DmC is a console-port, always has been, so its controls suck on PC. Maybe you need some games more tailored to your tastes?
And what better place to find a fine selection of Steam games to try out than on the great Steam games list! Up to 626 individual titles, all of which are free for the taking to anyone on FaWtL (or anywhere else, really), feel free to peruse and pick out whatever titles grab your fancy, or ask for recommendations relating to the genres you like. :)

I want to apologize for earlier, I am not, nor have ever been, a racist. I'm sure there are lacrosse teams not entirely made of white people, I know tons of poor white people, in fact, some of my best friends are white, and I have no clue about the size of white wieners except the one I saw that one time that was really big.
I am sticking by the fried chicken thing though...

The problem is I think if you were to do it commercially you'd be concerned more about the taste and cost of producing items. How healthy, unless you're talking about gourmet health food joints, wouldn't come into the equation. Now if you were experimenting with various stuff(like bacon bits on top of your bundt cake), that's when you start pushing science.

I don't bake with whole wheat flour unless I'm getting paid to, and I haven't been a professional baker for 16 years, so no idea.
Personally, I use unbleached all purpose flour for my baking.
