So now I'm getting a brain and thinking, "Hey, I can pay someone to patch up, texture, and paint my drywall. Why should *I* do it?"
Apparently, because it's too small of a job for an actual professional firm to to.
LM and WW gave me name of exactly the guy for this kind of job, but I have to look into licensing garbage -- I may be able to get away with having him paint stuff without a license.
Otherwise, Albany is as bad as a homeowner's association when it comes to handymen working on your house -- if the work is noisy or takes more than a day, the inspector will be called on you...
...gotta do some research on painting. I *think* it's actually something a handyman can do...

So next week I'm finally pulling the trigger on getting a medical weed card.
My only question is: Do I play it safe and go in lying, or do I go in assuming that the doc will happily fake a chronic pain diagnosis for the sake of treating my insomnia? Obviously lying is the safe bet, but I don't like lying to doctors. And it would be nice to get some pro tips from him or her before walking into a dispensary.
I should note that I found this place via newspaper ad, and judging by the clinic name and website, they're definitely catering to recreational users or people with an unapproved illness.

I can't lie to anyone to save my life,so I'd recommend honesty is the best policy. Also don't snort too much weed at once. Especially if it's pure you could get more then you bargained for. No, I haven't done weed before, just what I picked up from VE.

I think I need to listen to ABBA for a few hours...

Just watched Your Name with GothBard, and I'm afraid it's one of those movies that doesn't live up to its hype, but it is only because the hype is so amazingly over-the-top that it sets a high bar indeed.
Your Name is a very, very, VERY good film. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it. It's extremely Miyazake-like.
But it's not life-altering. It probably won't be your favorite anime of all time. And the people who call it unbelievably sad are just... er... wrong?
But yes, I really enjoyed it and I'm glad I bought it instead of renting it so I can watch it again soon.
But after that I don't think I'm going to watch it again and again and again, like Spirited Away or My Neighbor Totoro...

I'm still trying to find the piano score for the ending theme for spirited away.

I think it is called "always with me" if that helps.

I have a dream that I will be able to play that song. But heck, the only things I have managed to play so far is Bring me to Life and Canon in D. I play To Zanarkand too fast and mechanically for it to be nice. The emotion doesn't come through. Again, I don't really have the time to practice these days.

Man, you people need better information.
We thought we were bad!
There is no such thing as "a bad trip" when smoking weed, only with synthetic weed, which we never, ever, ever recommend.
Point of fact: we've been using it for over twenty years to deal with our insomnia and we haven't had any of those things happen.
We have however, gone through a phenomenal amount of Cheetos. We don't even like them.

It probably won't affect most people with standard amounts but some people may be more susceptible. It has to do with dopamine levels. Schizophrenia for example has to do heavily with dopamine levels. If you happen to be genetically predisposed to Schizophrenia the chemical changes marijuana causes could trigger the condition. I learned about it in college. It is possible that more research has been done since. I haven't kept up to date with it. That article above seems fairly recent.
Oh I remembered another determining factor is the potency and apparently most of it you get in america isn't that potent.
