You'd think after nearly 20 years of living together the General would realize telling me NOT to do something is just the same as telling me to do something.

He said after walking a mile and a half home carrying a case of water and a gallon or more of laundry detergent, as well as a bag of groceries tied to the back of my back pack.

just a long, thankless day at work. One day of hellish warmth and people pop out of the woodwork, making me and my staff scramble to catch people who dont normally come by.

I need a beer and an evening with my xbone.

But I cant even do that, because my mom wants me to come over because she keeps hearing a noise!

Ugh.

I wish you a better day tomorrow.

Icy outside, so of course I'm working.

At least we have a four man crew which makes me the wheel man.

And I'm working with summer co-worker, so pretty sweet.

For example, on Friday we got chinese for dinner and ended up with a lot of leftover fried rice, as you do. On Saturday, Mrs Sunrise made steak with this delicious wine sauce that she makes. On Sunday, Yellow is eating leftovers and says to me "I've discovered that Mrs Sunrise's wine sauce goes really well with fried rice!" as if it were an unexpected thing. Like, they must have had some inkling that it would taste good else why do it, but they seemed to be in a state of wonderment that it did.

And I thought "Well fried rice is good, the wine sauce is good, there's no reason they wouldn't mix well with each other, of course fried rice with wine sauce is good."

So I guess my question is...do other people feel confident in predicting what they're going to like like I am? Or am I an anomaly?

I do not feel confident, in general, predicting how well different flavours will mix. Instead, I try to open minded to trying anything at least once. With certain exceptions that feel obvious.

I mean, I like jam, and I like broccoli, but that doesn't mean I'd like jam covered broccoli, ya know? Liking A + liking B doesn't necessarily mean liking AB.

I would have also been suspect how well a wine sauce would work with fried rice, but glad to hear it went well. :P

My day:

This morning, Teensy Valeros was feeling so awful he didn't even want to read comic books. We watched Octonauts until my brain was dribbling out my ears. Then he fell asleep for three hours, during which time I did as much cleaning as I could and made a 10x13 pan of chicken enchiladas, with homemade sauce. Then we went and picked up Hermione from her Girl Scouts meeting, came home, had dinner with Whingey Wizzard, and after he left for the dojo and I got the kids to bed, I scrubbed the house from top to bottom (lunar new year tomorrow, old habits die hard). And now I'm tired.
There is nothing worse than watching a little kid with a fever. I kept testing him with math problems just to make sure his brain was not foggy. This is probably abnormal.
He swears he feels fine and was whistling the Imperial March and making wolf noises in the bathtub tonight, but he's still hot.
Whingey Wizzard gets to stay home with him tomorrow while I go back to work, because he works nights on Tuesdays. Apparently four other faculty members and one other faculty child were out of school today, and I don't know how many students total. A bunch.

*Wishes he could just easily waddle by the LM residence, so he could drop off some of his favorite lemon cough-drops and liquorice candies for T. Val. and a pair of his favorite merino woolen sock. and snifter of Rum for LM.*

Hi, Kjel! Third day of relatively warm temperatures. Tomorrow's supposed to be warm, too.

The cold moved here. Today's high was in the 40s. I know that sounds stupid to most of you, but that's a "only once every few years" cold snap for us.

Ditto lows in the high 20s or low 30s, but the lowest I've seen this year is 35°F, and that's cold for here, but not that unusual for here.

Shadow Lodge

Been warming up here. Past few days have been high 50s/low 60s consistently. Very pleasant, except when it's raining.

For the most part it sounds good however there is some flavors that don't mix.

That sucks. better you then me. On the plus side I guess its not as big deal for you to be stuck with sucky food since its all gonna be kind of bland anyways.

Just beat Ascension 5 with Silent. That was close. I had 4 HP left.

Oh I finally beat the bloody hearthstone solo mission. did it with the 3x battle cry totem. I knew I had it when I had played the storm caller like 3 times followed by two shudderwocks. my 1/2 elemental came out as a 17/18.

I don't think I've played Hearthstone in over a year. Since before the Witchwood or whatever it's called came out.

I do the quests and then if they have an event and thats all I let myself do so I don't get burnt out but still have cool stuff if I decide I want to play it for real. Hedging my bets I guess.

Same here, tho' I did get Mecha'thuun (so a warlock) deck.

And I lost alot Slay the Spire, except I did manage to win Defect Ascension 7. Not sure if I'll try getting to 20....plus haven't even done an Act 4 victory.

I managed to do an Act 4 Victory on defect, Ascension 1. Trying to do it on Silent and Ironclad for a long long time already.

Your kind of like a reverse daredevil. Lets hope your played by charlie and not Ben.

They can play Your all they want, no idea who Charlie, Ben, or Your is.

Unless you meant You're, but I still don't know who the other two knuckleheads are.

Charlie Cox and Ben Affleck. (actors that played daredevil*)

But who's Your!?!

And at least it's me, and not some cranky German guy heckling your grammar like I had with Magnuskn. :-)
