Didn't realise home made pizza doesn't freeze well, but again uh... It didn't hang around for more then a week or two.

Hmm. You see I try to make it a point not to buy convenience foods, especially if I can bake them myself. Mainly so I can stock it full of yummies.

Also didn't realise that talking about pizza gets you nekkid.

How I accidentally poached all the good players:
The major RP'er of the Pathfinder group I was in left. He got tired of how little RP we actually did. He said he could finally leave the PF group because he had a game he was actually invested in and excited to play - My L5R game. PF lately has had a ton of tangents, never started on time, and just turned into a mindless hack and slash.

I followed suit after, leaving as well. I just don't want to play when 1/3 of the heavy roleplayers left (and I'm another 1/3). My girlfriend left with me. The only other person who actually ever RP'd left after that. All within a few hours of the original notice.

The new quitter? Guess where he's going...

So I have all the heavy RPers from my old group in my new L5R group, and we're playing something besides Pathfinder.

I feel kinda s~%!ty to my old GM, but well...he talked a good game about RPing, but this is how he introduced my girlfriend's character:

"So a gnome hops out of a box"

I s$&~ you not.

It wasn't my intent to make them all quit - I held the game on another day of the week so they could do both. But - now that all the players in my L5R group aren't in the PF group, we might switch the day to the old PF day.

I'm doing research for hook ideas for my L5R game, as well. I'm considering having the Kolat smuggling Gaijin weapons into one of the minor clans. Since the minor clan hasn't been able to handle it on their own, the Emperor has asked each major clan within a reasonable distance to send envoys to research the situation. This is essentially a huge dishonor to the minor clan in question, and potentially a huge boon to the majors being represented.

On the way, they might hit up a village or two being accosted by bandits. Almost all the players took the "hero of the people" advantage, and are oddly pro-peasant (I say oddly, cause in Rokugan for samurai to care about them it's pretty damn rare), so I can throw a little moral ambiguity by having the bandits being ashigaru who were exiled without pay just because the village headman wanted to save a little change.

Eventually I have plans to have them found their own minor clan, possibly replacing the mysteriously lost Tanuki Clan...with each player founding a new family. But - hey - long-term goals.

Hi, everyone!

So, there's been a change in my schedule. One of my co-workers quit to focus on his ministry full time. Tuesday I had a trainee that could only work afternoons/evenings. So, Monday, I work from 5 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. and the rest of the week is as it was. That's all.

How's the new trainee going? What do you train security guards to do?

The training session went well. I instruct the trainees on how to perform security patrols in the garage, which keys open which doors, and operate the equipment within the garage.

The Exchange

What machinery do you operate in the garage. Do you guys actually carry guns for security detail?

No firearms. We're not licensed for that. The exit gate machinery, mainly. Since that's the POS that gives us the most trouble.

Sorry. I am a greedy guts.

Well, I'm not all that hopeful. You want a fatty, tough piece of meat for braising because all the fat and cartilage breaks down into something wonderful in the broth, and filet mignon is neither fatty nor tough, so I'm expecting it won't be as good as if I'd used the lamb shoulder or a chuck roast, but we'll see...

Why yes, my gnome has a Bluff of +20, a Diplomacy of +24, a Insistent Doorknocker, and a second-floor inn room. Why do you ask?

Are you serious that a large cat is supposed to live on vegetables and even eggs are too much?

Piece Of [redacted]. Specifically the exit gate cannot read the paper tickets with magnetic tape strips when it's raining or there is very high humidity. Let's also not forget that the machines haven't been properly maintained for well over a year.

And yes, I have had someone cause trouble while I was working. In September of '17, my relief had a full-on psychotic break. He was talking about getting a gun and start shooting people, beginning with the Police, his doctors, and the rest of the world. I had no choice but to file a report on his behavior. Last that I heard, he was in jail.

Just how bad is Costco's take-n-bake pizza?

I picked one up on Sunday, and Impus Minor baked it on Sunday night.

Since then we have had 6 teenagers come over, plus the Impii for a total of 8 hungry teenagers.

I just had to throw out the remaining half of the pizza, because every single person who had tried it had deemed it inedible.

Wow, Costco. Just... wow...

How do you make such bad pizza? I can get that some pizzas are unimpressive or passable at best...

Wow, that is bad. I've seen teenagers eat the weirdest things when hungry. Must be one real bad pizza.

I almost want to take up a dare to eat it. I'm pretty notorious for the stuff I'd eat. Almost everything goes. Really.

Snow forecast for tonight into tomorrow: 1-7 inches (of snow).

It's like they're not even trying anymore.

And of course, the headline for the storm is "Winter storm takes aim at Ohio Valley!"

Um, hello! We're here too!

I'm GMing at a game day tomorrow, but I'm just not feeling it. Its probably because its been a real busy week, and I'm tired.

I'm GMing for...I'm not really sure at this point...tomorrow and Sunday.

It might just be for Aiymi and her "solo" RotRL campaign*, or it might be Zelda coming over at some point with two of the kids and we play their campaign*. I have no idea what's going on. I know it's not the Giantslayer group, because that's not scheduled again until February 2nd. Then again, maybe the kids won't want to play, so that moves us into the other, other campaign***.

*:
She's playing 3 characters and asked me to GMPC 2 more for her, and based on the house rules I've done I'm making RotRL a bit harder than written. For example, I've reworked Tsuto, gave him 2 additional levels, and instead of being accompanied by 8 goblins in the entire Glassworks, I made it 24 goblins running around the place.

**:
Ruins of Azlant with Aiymi, Zelda, and her two younger kids, ages 14 and 11. And I am the GMPC filling holes for them.

***:
Reign of Winter with Zelda and Aiymi, and again a GMPC.

Politics:
So, wow... if you really want to see how disillusioned the population-at-large is about the workings of our federal government right now, look no farther than GothBard.

We were discussing this morning's latest, "Oh, we have him now!" article on the remote possibility that there may somehow exist evidence of Trump suborning perjury before Congress. (Yes. I'm a skeptic. I'll believe it when I see it.)

But in the course of our conversation, I said, "Well, in the unlikely event that this turns out to be true, this is finally something even the Republicans can't ignore. If there's a paper trail of him suborning perjury, they're going to have to impeach and indict him."

And she doesn't believe it. She honestly, fundamentally believes that even if there is a concrete paper trail proving suborning of perjury, the House will pass articles of Impeachment and then McConnell will block a vote on it in the Senate, because he's that evil.

That's really a sad, sad indictment of our entire political system. I believe McConnell is rotten to the core, and the most evil, vile politician I've seen since Cheney, but I cannot believe he would very publicly try to bury a criminal act.

I hope I'm not wrong.

But as I said, I honestly don't think that this "bombshell" is anything of the sort, and such a paper trail will mysteriously never appear.

We keep talking about how we can drive up to Flagstaff to see snow and then come back down when we're done, but so far no one has been interested in driving the couple hours north just to play in the snow. Strange.

I'm actually hoping for something like 24" of snow tonight. I know it won't happen, but I've been getting nostalgic for my childhood.

Well, I can drive east for 3 hours and get 4' of snow; in fact the snow pack even higher up is now measured in the tens of feet. We were hoping to take the kids skiing in February, but with the sudden urgency to save up for a 3-week trip to Europe such side trips are probably out of the question...

Final Spoiler for Friday, since I have work:
That's where you and I differ, then. To be impeached, he has to commit a crime. He is crass, vile, egotistical, narcissistic, etc., but as far as I've been able to tell, he hasn't actually committed a (provable) crime yet. That's what Mueller's all about. Every single time I hear, "Impeach him!", I ask, "For what? What concrete, provable crime has he committed while in office?"

I have yet to get an answer.

Calling for impeachment just because the guy's an a$$hat isn't productive.

Spoiler:
I'm with GothBard on this. McGonnell and the radical conservatism that both he and Trump are products of are fundamentally tribal. They've both demonstrated repeatedly that it's all about promoting radical conservative family 'values' at the expense of any kind of honesty, integrity, compromise, and patriotic spirit.

...

Remember when Scalia died, Obama nominated the eminently moderate Garland, and McGonnell told us all that he and his people wouldn't even talk to Garland because they wanted "the people" to choose Scalia's replacement? Then when he realized that we were going to choose Hillary, he turned right around with a smirk on his face to say that not only would he still refuse to meet Garland, but in addition vowed to refuse the nomination to anyone Hillary would put forward?

That's him straight-up lying and violating the RAI of the Constitution; violating the RAW is merely another justified sacrifice for conservatism.

Just whiling away the hours at work until the weekend. Had a few troublecalls to handle this morning, but it's definitely winding down.

Arrived early for my shift. Watching an Anime series between my security patrols.

A few months ago I rewatched Psycho-Pass with Mrs. Sunrise and was excited to realize that Netflix had added S2 since I had watched S1 on my own. A few days ago I finally remembered this fact, and was then disappointed to find that Netflix has dropped Psycho-Pass. :(

That's why I prefer to own the actual DVDs. I can watch what I want, and not have to worry about whether or not it's available on a streaming service.
