Also my first time doing this song, though I watched the 10 song marathon at expert difficulty.
This song was more relaxing then turn me on. That one I was quite tensed throughout in trying to get a perfect score.

I'd be happy if I could do a perfect run. Expert is still waaay too fast for me. Brain can't process it.

Maybe it needs an in between difficulty to get you to that point.
There's hard difficulty. Never tried that yet. But I rather full clear on normal first.
And I suppose you do get better with practice, since this is my first run with this song. I try not to repeat as I want to try out all the 10 songs, though if I wanted to perform better I should just focus on one and keep practicing.

Squee! My new Christmas cd just got here!
This is stupid... I shouldn't be getting so excited over this. But these are old, old songs that my Grandpa used to sing to me when I was a little girl, but done with modern arrangements, by a band I really like. (Enej are kind of like Gogol Bordello would be if they had a bath and a valium.)
Last night's HEMA was soundtracked by someone's playlist of accursèd techno versions of Xmas songs.
It got played through once, then got played through again. It is a bad idea to do that in a room full of keyed-up people with lotsa swords.

Saw someone do angel voices for 29k points on expert, but sorry, I ain't up to that yet.
Normal I suppose I can put on a fair decent show.
I could play you "Bring Me to Life" by Evanesence on piano if you want. And I can always whip up Pacabell's Canon in D, to the great groans of VE.
Though I'll admit I should polish "Bring Me to Life", if I'm going to give any performances.

I was gonna say "practice practice practice!"

Nightmare before Christmas (of course)
Die Hard (classic)
Miracle on 34th street (the old one because the remake is an abomination)
I like the Lion in Winter but the kiddo thinks it’s too slow.
We tried Gremlins last year, but it hasn’t aged well.
Trying to think of other not remotely sappy movies that fit the theme...
Suggestions?
I figure if I think of something now even if it’s kinda obscure I still have time to track it downI have recently been informed/reminded that Batman Returns is about as much an Xmas movie as Die Hard for pretty much the exact same reasons. And it's one of the good ones from the older set of live action Batman films.
Otherwise, Muppet Christmas Carol is the holiday standard in my family. And the best of the many versions of that story, IMO.
The Snowman (1982) is a classic animation, although a trifle sad.

Christmas?
Home Alone
I'd watch Lion In Winter. It's possible that the kiddo will appreciate it more when he will be older. Or not if he won't develop a taste for history.

What is with people thinking hotels match other hotels prices I've never found a hotel that does that. Now there is internet sites that have lower price guarantees but that's a whole different thing.
As Freehold and I discussed a while back, I think it's part of the whole "haggling" mentality: If you don't argue over the price of something, you lose. So since price matching is a "thing" for many retail outlets, such people extend it to hotels, just to try to get some leverage in getting a discount.

Or is it as boring as I think it is?
I've slogged my way through the first season and into the beginning of the second because WW really likes it and keeps telling me I should watch it, but it feels like a chore.I have to admit, I'm surprised. We (Shiro, GothBard, and I) thoroughly enjoyed Dark Matter Seasons 1 and 2. Then we gave up on it as it got bad, as is fairly typical.
But then, we hated Stranger Things, so obviously our tastes are twisted.
As for Christmas movies, our "watch 'em every year" are:
The Year Without a Santa Claus
A Christmas Story
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Elf
Other than those four, our year-to-year stuff is pretty random.
I remain mildly surprised you all hated Stranger Things! But my Dark Matter experience was much like yours.

There were any number of brawls, including a series of 4-a-side melees at the end, but none of them had to do with the playlist, more's the pity, as we'll probably get it again on Saturday as a result.

Interesting. I may have to take Shiro to task.
He swears he personally saw it, but maybe it was a gag gift at that point, produced based on the legend.
I'm pretty sure I saw some pictures of crusified santa in japan a few years back on some travel blog. Going to see if I can dig them up.

you guys are missing out. Not all of dark matter is great, but you need to watch it all to truly appreciate the overall work. The cali episode is something *everyone* should see, ditto the star trek parody(although the ending is DARKKKKKKKKKKK). I can't wait for more.

I once witnessed a couple try to get the hotel to price match a Motel 6. We were at the Hyatt Regency. In Chicago.

Flushed away is our christmas movie, same reason Die Hard is for others.

I saw all but, like, the last one to three episodes of 3 (I do t recall - you’ve seen it, I was at the point where they’d basically wrapped up the one crewmember’s plotline/destiny, but before the inevitable Season 3 cliffhanger). As I said, it gets more brutal and tougher as it goes.
