PCC has decided not to contract with Magic Meeple Games, the company that took over managing the gaming volunteers this past year. They have decided to move all gaming into the convention hall proper. We cannot use our usual hotel ballroom. So rather than deal with the hassle of getting into and out of the hall for games, we're not going to attend.Whelp. No more gaming at PCC. At least that frees up my Memorial Day weekend.What happened?Yes!

And because I'm too lazy to hit edit and know I'll be ninja'd if I do (but NOT posted before a triple-post, because that's how these things work): 8/90 days at the gym today. I took last night off 'cause I was too damn depressed. Still, I started last Monday, and have only taken off three days (which, one of them, we doubled up the day after - which let me tell you, you do NOT want to double up on leg day - not with any other muscle group).
I officially look damn good while sucking the gut in and wearing clothes. On my way to "looking somewhat acceptable without sucking my gut in while wearing clothes" in no time.
Which is of course the path to "looking good wearing clothes" and then of course "looking good nekkid" being the ultimate goal.
This is entirely for horrible, shameless, selfish, superficial reasons. I walk for my health. The gym is for me to obtain women without actually using my personality.
Shut up. You can't use your personality if they don't actually talk to you.

For all of you who are curious why you act in certain ways, I recommend The Myers Briggs Personality test
There are 16 different personalities and I find(tested it on myself) its fairly accurate in describing you. That being said, some of you may find it uncomfortable sharing the results with others, which I understand since personalities are quite private things.
Theory of Myers Briggs.
I revolt about those personality tests almost as much as you do guns.

Yeah, and some companies require you to fill out an application when you already sent in a resume with literally everything on that g~$@@$n application, and actually write do not say 'see resume' here, like they just want you to suffer.
Some companies don't understand that morale can affect productivity up to 20%, and treat their employees like s$#*, telling them they can easily replace them if they complain.
Some companies don't realize that every dollar spent on perks is worth 2.50 in salary, on average in regards to how to motivate an employee.
Some companies don't understand that outmoded corporate culture from the 1980s is over, and ties and a suit have no actual representation of true professionalism, but simply perceived professionalism until you actually open your mouth.
Some companies are f@~@ing Comcast, which is enough said for how to not be a company.

In all honesty I did not know – since I’ve generally been speaking freely about it (albeit in non “public” threads) so to speak.
I mean I talked about chewing gum bans also and apparently that didn’t seem to raise any eyebrows…

It's not firearms in general that's political, but rather the banning or prohibition of such. It's a highly, highly, HIGHLY politicized issue in the US and a few other places, one that can get EXTREMELY volatile.

Joss Whedon, and Alton Brown – Dunno who they are! I generally spend my time watching national geographic or animal planet!
Maths – why would I talk about a subject that would eat the thoughts out of my head?
Banning of firearms – noted on that point. I guess that’s what happens when you’re not American, so you do not realize the kind of stuff that is political to them. Call it cultural insensitivity. To me, what I feel is politics is something like Brexit etc.

Joss Whedon is a storywriter and occasional movie director. Freehold has a raving hatred for almost anything he's ever touched. Best known for "Firefly", "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", and the first two "Avengers" movies in the recent MCU.
Alton Brown runs a TV cooking show. That's the full extent of my knowledge about him.
The other thing Freehold hates that no one has mentioned yet is Facebook. I honestly can't blame him for that one. ;) Also, for some reason, Harry Potter.
And yeah, there's a lot of stuff in the US that isn't inherently political of its own right, but has become a political issue primarily due to strong feelings on the subjects in question attuning very, very closely along party lines. No worries on not knowing, that's why our initial reaction was "you don't want to talk about this, it'll summon the mods and/or make people angry/upset" rather than something more hostile =)

I'm paying $70 a month for DSL with 800 KB per second download speed, and I paid $100 in wiring fees, because the only non-DSL option available in my area is Comcast.

Yeah, especially since I have well-formulated replies to that topic that include economics, trade, the difference between island nations and non-island nations, the black market, and the difficulty of keeping items out of a country that shares the world's longest unguarded border with a country that's almost as gun crazy as the USA.
But I choose not to do so, because, you know...flaming bikes.

...and I'm not the most conservative person here, I'm absolutely 100% certain of that. Yet we all get along. Because we don't bring that crap up. Because why? Nobody's opinion was *ever changed by a well-formulated argument, when it comes to politics.
Nope. You have your opinions, and well-formulated arguments probably just entrench you deeper into them as you look for a retort rather than listening to/reading said argument or considering it as a possible truth. It's human nature. Most people never change their opinion on religion/politics/etc unless they experience some life-changing event.
*We might have a few exceptions to that rule here, but it's like the birthday phenomenon. Get enough people together and there's bound to be two people with the same weird traits. By and large I guarantee you, debate is a pointless action with almost everyone you will run into in your life. I was damn-near 30 before I figured that out. I used to debate people about everything, with well-cited scholarly articles or properly designed studies with actual random samples rather than college convenience samples, etc. Nobody gives a s&$# about facts.
Hey. I'm not talking about politics. I'm talking about why not to talk about politics. I'm talking psychology.

I have no facebook and do not intend to. There are not enough hours in the day to keep up with this thread, run Strange Aeons at breakneck speed, play Path of Exile and Hearthstone at night, not to mention keeping up with exercise. I like Harry Potter, but if Freehold doesn’t I won’t mention it down here.
I don’t watch anime because there are not enough hours in the day. Insufficient sleep makes me cranky. Again when I’m up I’m usually a ball of energy running all over the place.

I actually don’t bother debating with people all that much. It is considered talking back and not encouraged. But if accused of something I didn’t do, I’d be damned if I didn’t defend my point. And if you want to question my actions, I will of course – justify them.
