This is why I generally spend time building up that reputation for being a harmless eccentric. People just...get used to the weirdness and stop questioning it or taking the goofball that I am all that seriously.

I told all my classes the first day of school that I wanted to be a supervillain and take over the world and then did a Fluttershy impression giggle. Most odd things can now be chalked up as "Yep. Same $#*! as always..."

I make learning fun. And surreal!

Edit: Not that surreal!

A BMI value of 23 and above indicates that your weight is outside of the healthy weight range for your height.

Mine is about 24...

I did manage to get to 120 lbs before, and probably 120 lbs is more realistic.

I also do know that these days a good part of me is muscle which weighs more then fats...

Thanks though, Kjeldorn =)

According to the BMI, gymnasts, martial artists, and professional fighters are all overweight.
BMI is just a pretty terrible measurement tool all around, as it doesn't allow for any sort of variance of body type or anything.

As a national team member on an internationally-ranked collegiate tae kwon do team, working out 22 hours a week including at least 10 hours of full-contact sparring, you couldn't "pinch a centimeter" anywhere on my body, much less an inch. We didn't have fat percentage calculators back then, but from pictures and memory it had to be well under 8%.

But my BMI was 25, putting me squarely into the "overweight" category.

I understood Orthos wasn't serious.

No worries, we all have our preferences.

But yeah, I don't know any good PS4 games to recommend. A quick Google showed lots of FPS titles, which I hate because they make me dizzy, and also are rated like M, which makes me judge parents.

Unfortunately I’m pretty sure that you could pinch an inch off my tummy =) Also I have a friend who is a lifeguard – but he’s all muscle – so I do know BMI doesn’t work for him.

I don’t think the all muscle would apply to me.

Just this morning…one visit to the pantry and a failed will save later…

We've got the measurements out! I'm about 37% fats and... 33.8% skeletal muscle mass...

I told you I had some muscle, right? ;)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Well since My mental image for you is a large jungle cat I would assume you had more muscle.

More like a pussy cat. I have to look bad@ss or people might turn me into a fur coat =P

If you're big, you're naturally scary. Me? I look so approachable that everyone asks me for directions/donations etc.The worst thing is I have no sense of direction. I would rather tell people I am clueless then give them the wrong directions.

Who knew people asked large tigers direction? hmm I guess I appreciate the be left alone perk a little more now. I'm terrible at giving directions.

Snow leopard. Snow Leopards and Tigers are different, even if they are both felines =)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Is it a snow leopard? the face makes me think tiger. I'm noticing the spots now.

The Exchange

The paizo description for this picture was Droogami, who is Lini the pathfinder iconic druid's snow leopard animal companion. Note the similarities =)

Though the Bengal tiger is white too.

I wonder what everyone's gonna say when they wake up and find the conversation between us both and different types of felines ^^

snow leopard it is then.

There could be worse things to hear conversations about... Like it could be all the critters I've ever devoured. Some of them could be questionable to say the least.

Exotic critters gobbled:
Kangeroo
Ostrich
Camel
Alligator
Donkey(it was good!)
Goose
Rabbit
Quail
Venison
Sea urchin(yes I ate it raw)
Jellyfish(quite common here but maybe not elsewhere)
Wild boar
Grasshoppers
Scorpion(latest addition to the list)!

Looking forward to adding more critters to the to gobble list!

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I can say I would try everything on that list. The jelly fish and scorpion being the most tentative.

The Exchange

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Oh I also gobbled frogs,
snails and turtles! =D

I've eaten shark before but I don't really feel it's very exotic. A small shark makes good stir fry with ciltrano and ginger =)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

The snails are weird looking the inside looks like green bread.

The Exchange

I believe it's the nature of the sauce, they could be topped up with some variant of green sauce. The Italians have verde sauce and it's delicious even if its green.

Also edited last post to include turtles(may offend some animal right activists out there...)

But sorry, down here we're not too much into animal rights...Though I know some people in RL who find the practice of making turtle soup yucky...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I've eaten wild boar, goose, and quite a lot of rabbit (when I was small and lived in the country, the village policeman used to go out and shoot them, then bring you round a couple if you asked) - nothing more exotic than that.

As for BMI, I was alright when I last checked. 30 inch waist and 5' 8" tall, but that isn't the be all and end all. I'm certainly not terribly well sculpted.

Trust me, there have been much stranger conversations for people to wake up to here. Some of the ones between Punniculus and Kileanna, for example.

Wild boar can be a little gamey, but frying with curry powder to get rid of the gamey taste is good. The rabbit satay I had was rather tough. Disappointing really.

Camel just smelt really bad. No I'm not eating camel again in a hurry.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

From your list of critters eaten, I have had the following:
Ostrich
Alligator
Goose
Rabbit
Quail
Venison
Frogs
Shark

I've also had squirrel, bison, duck, snake, and I think elk.

I know I actually go out of the way to add more exotic critters to the list. Though the place you really should go to for this kind of thing is China. You can eat nearly anything, as long as you're willing to pay...and have the right connections....

Guanxi, they call it.

So you aren't interested in trying this recipe, then?

I think it's funny how most of the measurements are in kilos, and then it says gallons of water and pounds of pepper.

I'd think Bison is rather tough and needs a long stew. Squirrel - once you've finished stripping out the fur, what's left?

Duck is common here so not worthy of ending up on the list. I've always wanted to try snake(I heard it's very good), but I think I'll have to go to China for that.

Elk - same as deer? Just curious.

I didn't go out of my way to eat most of it, just happened across it. I will say, I'm not sure if the shark really counts since it was jerky. And I could have had snapping turtle, but we had to leave before it was ready.

I had camel jerky. The meat was rather.. Pungent. And that's from someone who generally likes the gamey taste of most exotic meats.

Bison steaks can be quite tender, I hear, but the bison I had was ground and made into hamburgers. Squirrels don't have a lot of meat on them, but it is there. The snake wasn't very good. It was tough and tasted kind of like old chicken. And the elk tasted similar to deer. It's basically a big kind of deer.

Kangaroo was jerky too. I asked one of my friends to bring me some and was given a disgusted look. So I asked another less squeamish friend to do it and finally got my hands on some kangaroo jerky.

My dad said the meat of a snake was like fish, but very flavourful. Delicate taste he said. So regretting I missed out that opportunity =(

It was a tree snake. I've heard the poisonous ones taste even better.

Must be a little like puffer fish make sure its prepared well. Although I guess all their poison is in those glands.

Can't believe people are having problems with these.

The solution is simple:

Just more of:

This

And

These

The good news is I was just trying out the stalls standard, so I wasn't expecting too much, so it wasn't really much of a disappointment.

For anyone thinking I'm an incorrigible carnivore... You're not exactly right. If you wanted to talk about veges, there isn't a vegetable, besides bitter gourd, that I don't like. Well maybe too much chilli.

Heck these days I've even been eating tomatoes. (In the past, the sour taste used to put me off)

I must be one of the easiest kitties to cook for, since I will eat nearly everything unless its spicy, too sour or bitter..

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Well leopards are carnivores so your diet being mostly meat does not surprise me.

The Exchange

Nah. I'm really an omnivore. Though I do a decent job of faking I'm a vegetarian, should the occasion arise.

I definitely know enough about vegetarian dishes to get the best stuff at vegetarian buffets(hint, hint - get the deserts and the mock mutton curry) and can even converse convincingly about vegetarian recipes=)

Nothing wrong with being an incorrigible carnivore.
