I had to learn the basics of German when I was posted there in 1988.

I had a year of German in high school. I don't remember much. Of course, I had two years of Spanish and don't remember much of that either.

I had a year of Latin and I don't remember much, either.

My mom took Latin back in the day, and said the only thing she could remember was the phrase for "Anna's in the woods with the sailors". Apparently it was a common phrase to translate in class. They never got into why Anna was in the woods with the sailors, but one can guess.

I learned French from the exchange students that lived with us every summer. We had a Spanish student one year but he pretty much stayed in his room unless he needed someone to take him to buy Nike's.

I only remember a little.

I do know, in a pinch, if you let your escargot get cold it makes wicked rubber bands. :-)

In a bit, I'm going to go to my parking garage to get my portable DVD player and the two boxes of tea that I left there before my hospital stay. I hope that they're still there.

So, I came back to discover the veggie tales song about dancing cucumbers has been referenced, and that two whole pages were filled, and a third was getting started on.
And I though I had very little work to do this week...

Here's the song, if you're interested. I didn't translate all of it, and some of what Google came up with is different than what they say, but you should still get the gist of it. I hope.

I don't remember where, possibly somewhere here on Paizo's messageboards, but I read a thing about how to freak out your players. One of the ways listed went something like this:
1) They notice their horses' eyes are slowly turning red.
2) The horses slowly stop eating feed.
3) One night, they are awakened by a scuffle.
4) When they investigate, they find evidence that the horses stomped a squirrel to death and ate it.
5) Nothing changes, except the horses are now strictly carnivorous.

I kind of want to do this sometime. Of course, first I would have to start GMing again.

That surprises me only because when I went in 1987, none of the Germans could figure out my accent. When I told them I was American, they were delighted by the strange American who had bothered to learn German, so I got free beer, free food, and even an upgraded room at a hostel.. All for speaking German with an American accent.
