Question: I'm considering (after completing book one of Legacy of Fire) switching our Friday night family game to a Hogwarts-lite game (solving mysteries and dealing with monsters around the castle, but no more killing stuff for a while and no Voldemort). For various reasons (we've been doing a lot of fighting and killing stuff, and I'd like to take a break from that, and they're only 4 and 6, and they're obsessed with HP)

BUT, there doesn't seem to be an official HP-RPG.

I'm guessing I can just take what I know of the castle and the cast of characters, the base spellbook, and the bestiary corollaries and build it the same way I would any random adventure, and that wouldn't cause any more difficulty than taking up a lot of time that I don't have much of,

HOWEVER, just so I don't go reinventing the wheel, do any of you know if there happens to be a fan-made, Pathfinder-base, Hogwarts crawl available somewhere?

I love having a Midas three blocks away.

Or a block, if I want to jump two fences.

i have vague memories of something like that being started, but I think it was stopped some time ago due to lawsuit fears. I think someone else picked it up with well veiled changes to names and such. I'll look around.

Hopefully not an old school D&D lower AC...

Might not work well if they play 2e.

Then bracers of defense AC 0 came to my mind...

Hmm... if it's a fan making it for personal use (as opposed to with an eye to profit), I don't believe copyright law applies. If it's distributed freely and folks kick back a "donation" via paypal, it's a bit dodgy but, well, fair and right if not strictly legal, but almost impossible to prosecute. The most they could do would be to issue a "cease and desist" letter which would look impressive but not have any real teeth behind it.

Unless the "fan" in question was somehow involved with Pathfinder professionally, even if they were only paid for occasional freelance work.

And, lest I forget my manners yet again (born in a barn, raised by wolves), Thank you. For looking around.

This is the only line I would use on kileanna.

The best line ever to use on Kileanna is "You smell good".

Well I'm off to the ER to have my head injury looked at.

No fun at all.

This is fast for an emergency room. I remember when I had second degree burns and I had to wait two hours to see a doctor then another three to tell me my foot was infected.

I am always afraid of hits in the head, but I hope in the end it would be nothing too serious. Good luck, captain!

Just gashed my eyebrow pretty good on the corner of the car door running out to roll up the window in the thunderstorm.

Wow -- I have to see whether it would be cheaper to have my car towed out to Wisconsin to get it fixed.

It just might be, rabbit. It just... might... be...

800 for all four getting replaced, but that's a little more than our emergency only credit card can handle. :-)

To say nothing of the hijinks of having to drive it home.

Cast Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr and it practically writes itself. :-)

Meanwhile, I can do a head-first fall over my bicycle handle and get up with a surface scratch to the cheek. Haven't had to see a doctor since I was 14. (Discounting the rudimentary physical during draft-call up.)

All stitched up, and got my tetanus shot. Just waiting to get my walking papers then it's time to go scare the normals.

OK, I won't be too specific other than to say the bill for my Celica was over 5x what CY paid to have all his cylinders replaced, but...
...oh...
...my...
...goodness...

I cannot remember the last time the Celica ran this flawlessly! It's like paying people to replace most of your engine with brand new parts actually gives you a better engine or something!

Lovin' drivin' my Celica!

EDIT: At least until this summer when I start teaching Impus Major to drive it. California laws on under-18 drivers are some of the most restrictive in the country, so he's not actually going to bother getting a permit nor a license 'til he's 18, but there's a giant parking lot at Golden Gate Fields that the police have designated a "driver training ground" when there are no races, and anyone can drive on private property, no permit required!

Should be... entertaining...

Okay, guys. I'm in the hospital, and have been assigned a room after spending the entire day in the ER. I've got good news, bad news, and semi-good news. The good news is that I didn't have a mini-stroke, although I am at risk due to high blood pressure. The bad news is that my vision problem is from a pituitary tumor of some sort that is putting pressure on the nerves behind my right eye. The semi-good news it that the tumor doesn't appear to be malignant, and cen probably be treated without surgery. Going to post on the other threads, now. :)

This weekend I get to go to that most cliche of Midwestern events, a barn wedding.

So, in order to entertain myself since it's the General's side of the family she gets to drink and I'm the designated driver, I'm going to tell everyone something different when they inevitably ask about my eyebrow.

All I have so far is
Squirrels
Clowns

Any other ideas are appreciated. I'd like to keep it as few words as possible as these sorts of things are more believable if they're short and mysterious.

cy and John: you are both prayed for! Heal up!

John, especially - I'm happy about what it is not, and glad for the potential fix to what it is!
