I have a vivid stink-memory of the back of a cheesy gold and maroon Ford Huntsman estate, filled with three sweaty and lentil-fed small children, one of whom was me, probably reading a Fighting Fantasy gamebook, when we weren't being dragooned into singing folk songs. No Bibles on long journeys for us!

I likes my Pauline epistles, chiefly. I Corinthians and Ephesians, especially.
Oh, and Hebrews. Still not 100% on who wrote that one, though.
We should migrate this to your thread, Tac, 'fore Freehold spills more salsa.

It turns out homework might not be as important as they say.
Pea Bear, despite doing maybe 30% of her homework (and that might be generous) is getting mostly A's and B's.
Pea Bear sounds like me. I crammed all of my homework into homeroom and lunch periods. If I couldn't get it all done during school hours, it wasn't worth doing. (Exception being major projects and research papers.) I still graduated second in my high school class.

once I got to high school, much of my homework was done during free periods.

It has gems like this dead ringer for the alias as well as this Welcome.

Oh, mercy, yes. The smell in the back of some cars is... rough, at best.

Congratulations!
(I would not have considered that an empty post, by the way, but it's cool!)

Thanks for the indirect link to the site where I can watch more free anime. Don't have to rely solely on Crunchyroll now.

OK. I've never experienced this before, but I have to admit, there are few things more annoying than an incompetent paper-pusher.
I turned in all my paperwork to be a driver for my school, and then got a call a week later from the person in charge of such paperwork:
Paper-Pusher: OK, everything looks like it's in order, except we're missing a few things.
NobodysHome: OK, shoot.
PP: Well, since this is your first time ever volunteering...
NH: What do you mean? I've been volunteering for years! I've been cleared to drive multiple times!
PP: Oh, OK. I guess that's OK then. But we need the original of your DMV record, and not just a printout of the web page.
NH: I gave you an original, stamped copy
PP: Oh, did you? Hmm. I guess you did. Well, next, we need your insurance information. We're missing the page on your liability limits...
NH: I turned those in, too...
PP: Oh, here they are. Well, then, the only outstanding issue is your car registration. It shows as being expired in January of 2017, so we'll need the updated registration.
NH: OK, I'll bring that in tomorrow...
And, sure enough, when I pulled the registration out of the car, I had indeed given them the current year's registration.
So she had EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF PAPER ON THE DESK IN FRONT OF HER, and yet called me to tell me they were all missing.
WTF? What the serious F?
I mean, I just can't comprehend that level of incompetence. I really can't.

If you were in grade school, I'd say she has a crush on you.
As she is likely an adult though, I will simply reference...what is it called again, that tendency for people to get promoted until they attain a position they're fundamentally unqualified for..."her highest level of incompetence"?

Yeah; as I said, it's just weird.
I can understand, "Hi! I'm reviewing your record and I notice that we don't have these fields populated in our system. Can you provide them for me?"
But, "Hi! You didn't give me this physical piece of paper. What's that? You did? Oh, you're right! Here it is right in front of me! Now, you didn't give me that physical piece of paper. What's that? You did? Oh, here it is!"
That's just beyond strange...

Talking weather in the Yesterday house.
Captain Yesterday: 1-2 inches of snow on Monday!
The General: Ugh, fine, whatever.
Captain Yesterday: But, 41 and 46 degrees by Thursday and Friday.
The General (sounding upbeat): That's better!
Captain Yesterday: with a chance of rain and snow.
The General: That doesn't help.
