No, I've got enough of those, also. It's just that it's 2 AM in Pittsburgh, so I'm winding down to go to bed.

To be honest, I didn't need, nor want to know what two steam engines f**%ing sounded like.

But now I do, so there's that.

And now you also know how kettles are made.

Not sure how you will manage it, but watch the macross series if you can. They have all aged and the most recent addition, delta, got Meh reviews. But it is a true classic, one of the three most important series in my collection.

So tired!

They should make Valentine's day a roving holiday. Like the second Saturday of February or something.

Winter is back for a day or two, before the great and sunny fifties move in for at least five days.

I hear you.

After getting home from work, we celebrated V-day by having a cheap Taco Bell dinner, putting our boys to sleep, and then mostly wiping out from exhaustion on the chair or couch, depending (though I woke up later).

Also, they're totally trolling Dwight by not recognizing what his costume is...

I can't listen/watch but I can read.

They record them. So you could potentially listen at another time, or in pieces a few minutes each day. As far as I know, they don't do transcripts.

And/or will likely be putting our children to sleep during that time (and/or likely be sleeping with our head in the children's bed while they laugh maniacally and jump up and down repeatedly)?

I don't get podcasts. Is it something you have to pay for. Is it just audio or is video involved. Is it basically an evolved radio interview.

The dog also isn't ready to confront the fresh chill. Little guy is still burrowed under the comforter. Only his tail and one leg are sticking out. Which occasionally kick and wag as he dreams of bunny chases.

So, I can understand people who aren't professional writers making a bunch of grammatical errors, typos, or whatnot. Or making choices that don't match our standards. No biggie.

But I really don't understand when ONE author makes a bunch of different choices on the SAME SLIDE:
- Bullet 1: The plural of SR is shown as SR's. While this is technically incorrect (it is neither a possessive nor a contraction, hence should not have an apostrophe), it is considered an "acceptable modern use" of an apostrophe
- Bullet 1: Ends with a period. OK. No biggie. Different groups do it differently.
- Bullet 2: The plural of SR is now SRs. OK. I guess we're changing things. And the bullet doesn't end with a period
- Bullet 3: Oops. Back to SR's again. And another period
- Bullet 4: Now it's SRs and no period

I mean, seriously! Did you intentionally alternate just to piss me off and make my job harder?

You'd be amazed how uppity customers get when they're paying $1000 (or more) a day for training, and the author can't even get his errors straight...

I'm hoping if I get a second cup of coffee the process will reverse itself.

Job interview monday.

The position involves watching tabletop games, calculating odds and doing quick math in your head to run them smoothly, and knowing and remembering the rules of games.

I have never been more qualified for a position in my entire life. Here's hoping.

I want:
- sleep: an unfortunate necessity
- money: it sucks how much requires this
- Time: see sleep, above
- work ethic: I'd explain this one, but meH.
- Health: see immediately above. Also, a lack of general sickness

See, the thing is, none of those are my real, or actual once. They're just the things that I kind of have to have in order to get what I actually want. And that kind of sucks. Why was he being an adult. Kind a wish I was a conjurer, now.

A podcast is an episodic series of digital files. The audience can download them, subscribe, or just play a single one that interests them.

captain yesterday wrote:

I am sure that the hosts of New Direction have to pay quite a bit in terms of equipment, site hosting costs and other things. For the audience it is free.

captain yesterday wrote:

Depends on the podcast. Some are audio only. Know Direction is both, but I warn you that the video of me is going to suck. My webcam keeps turning me PURPLE. I may have to borrow my boyfriend's iPad and film off that.

captain yesterday wrote:

Think of it as an amateur (but professional quality) radio interview that you tune in to via the internet. Hosts Ryan Costello and Perram have put together some great episodes and have interviewed top people at Paizo. I really loved the one they did on upcoming adventure paths. Great stuff.

Quick, random question: do any of you ever do any freelance editing? If so, what's your going rate?

I ask because a friend of mine has asked me to edit his novel prior to submission, and I'm not exactly sure what to quote him.

David and Treppa do some of the editing for Wayfinder. Ask them and see if they have the time and what their rates are.

I'll say this for Gearbox and 2K: Borderlands and Borderlands 2 Co-Op mode are doing more to strengthen my marriage than any romantic movie ever could.

We just killed part 1 and all the DLC as Roland (her) and Mordecai (me). Now onto part 2 as Mechromancer (her) and Commando (me). First game she ever beat. First co-op that we really enjoyed together (Fable 2&3 was okay together but co-op kinda sucks and makes your partner a weak reflection of you...)

I'm not sure of a good rate but I think pros charge per word. Check upwork.com for examples of freelancers.

Borderlands 1 & 2 rock! There is a Borderlands 3 in the works, but no ETA or other info yet.

BTW, I wanted to say hello and see how you are doing. I was thinking about heading over to Jacksonville for a day trip sometime next month or the month after. Are you interested in meeting up?

Also, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, which is the story of Jack becoming Handsome Jack and the president of Hyperion. The game itself uses Borderlands 2 engine with some tweaks and changes. And a new set of characters of course (well, Athena from one of the Borderlands 1 DLCs becomes a playable character, and a few baddies from Borderlands 2 got their backstories as playable characters... Also, A Claptrap Fragtrap...).

Borderlands 3 would be a welcome sight, as the ending of the 2nd and the Pre-Sequel are quite explicit there are incoming complications...
