I only have point buy as a GM, and only play in games with point buy, similar to that reason.

Not us, we're rollers, it's a lot more fun for us.
Seconded.
To avoid disparity in-party though I typically have everyone roll their arrays, then everyone can pick from all the available arrays and grab the one they want to use most. So you don't end up with one guy with all 12s and 13s and another with all 16s and 17s unless they deliberately chose to use that array.

That I can deal with because it's more like a randomized stat array than traditional rolling.

Yeah, if there's a wide difference, or someone rolled mediocre or bad I'll have them reroll.
Rolling has worked perfectly this campaign, because our non spell casters rolled crazy high, and the spell casters were 24 points (but a dwarven oracle) and 20 (but an android Diviner, which is ridiculously synergistic).
So far, so good.

...so, a lot has been happening, I might as well summarize quickly.
- The old Council of Thieves game I abandoned might see a revival as we cleared up grievances with the old DM.
- My online Pathfinder group kinda fell apart due to everyone stressing out. It's on hiatus, no idea if it'll come back and when.
- Friend of mine managed to convince me to watch Steven Universe. I binge watched all the episodes, and actually liked it. I still despise most of the fanbase.
- I have managed to gather up a team to make a Lovecraft inspired Visual Novel. We're still in the planning phase, but I hope to make some progress in the near future.
- Short stories have been on time for now, but I feel like with all the recent things bugging me, the quality has had a noticeable drop. I haven't gotten much feedback either, so yeah.
- My actual publishable work has slowly gotten some more pages to it. I'm far from done, but I was not writing at all earlier. Hopefully I can pick up the pace once other concerns are taken care of.

I prefer Rolling. Point Buy is problematic. Rolling tends to produce higher point buy totals but lower top stats on average. This favors people with cool character ideas that may need a few good stats rather than one good one. AND it's kind of like Christmas time when rolling to see if you got something like the latest video game or instead did you get holiday socks? Also it's pretty easy to get past the drawbacks of rolling but the drawbacks of point buy are built in and going nowhere.

pah. Point buy is for white wolf. I hAve no idea how an entire generation was sold on point buy for a game system that barely supports it, but maybe that's just a blindness on my part.

I actually prefer nWoD to PF, mechanically speaking, so that doesn't really work as an argument to me.
Really, nostalgia and lore are the only things that keep me playing PF. I've evolved my preference to classless systems more than anything. Savage Worlds is my Bread and Butter.
Of the six PbP games I'm in or run, two are Pathfinder, four are SW.

3.0/3.5 putting it as the primary stat generation method in the PHB and people ranting about the really un/lucky people getting low/high total rolls and generally ignoring the average section in the middle resulting in complainers wanting something that appears (but not necessarily is) more "fair".

Hey, I don't hate all of the fanbase. Just the rabid ones that make everyone uncomfortable. And that kind of people exist in most fanbases anyway.
The fan base is the primary reason I mock Firefly and it's cancellation.
Okay, it's the only reason.
Also, how do Reevers clean their spears?
They put them through the Wash!

Because no one asked, my three biggest fears
1. Heights (except climbing trees)
2. Boats (except canoes)
3. Bridges (especially long bridges and extension bridges).
I know a guy who is terribly afraid of flying, boats, bridges, and tunnels. He hasn't been off of Long Island in over a decade.

It's true, and it's sad.

Sure, but how many fanbases do you know that, instead of just endlessly bemoaning things, actually managed to get their cancelled show a "follow-up"? I know of exactly two, so far - Firefly and Community. I can take credit for neither, but I sure am glad they did.
Also, how do Reevers clean their spears?

Heh. Nice. Disturbingly awful in every way, but nice.

I've seen enough of it to know that it perfectly encapsulates all the reasons I don't watch TV nowadays.
I love their Star Wars parodies, helping to bring the show back was worth it, just for the House three episodes. :-)
I regret nothing!
But, you know, to each their own, certainly can't fault you for not liking it. :-)

I once put down and compacted the gravel for 5,000 feet of retaining walls. My grade was never at any point off by more than a quarter of an inch, as measured by a laser transit.
So yeah, I've got eye for grade (trust me, it's a curse).
Yet ask me to put a magnetic name tag on straight.
Nope, can't be done, impossible, an urban myth, you're not my supervisor!!

Futurama was great.
From what I've seen, Futurama was consistently good.
This is what I'm discovering as I make my way through it, yes.
