8th Dwarf,
by the way,
it was great to see Twickenham Stadium in the Rugby Union Video, I was there two years ago for a Maiden Show, sadly the England Rugby Museum was closed that day (because it was used as the Backstage Area)

Hi 8th Dwaf,
wow, thanks for the in-depth explanation.
Sadly all the videos except Union where blocked for me - stupid german copyright laws *shakes fist* The Copyright agency protects the composer of music from me listening to it - STUPID S+*&
Sorry to hear the bit about soccer, the FIFA world cup decisions severely damaged the reputation, and their rules board nearly made me give up on my favorite sport.
In italy rugby almost surpasses soccer in popularity because of the idiot officials and hooligan problems
Hey Aeglos Sorry you cant see any of the videos
Australian Rules is a mad game it is a lot of fun to play but a headache to watch a full game.
In Australian rules you can be penalised but you cant be sent off.
You cant tackle above the shoulders or below the knees.
There is no offside the ball can go forwards or backwards.
You have to bounce the ball every so many steps.
You can shove, nudge, verbal the opposition even if they don't have the ball.
These are called Marks - if you catch the ball on the full you can kick from the place you caught the ball without being tackled - once you kick the ball you are fair game.
Top AFL Marks 2008 .
This is a bit of playing the man not the ball and some shepherding - only 2 draw a penalty, the others are legal.
These are some AFL goals

Howdy FAWTLYs! Had a great day yesterday. Stuffed myself silly on boiled crawfish. Even helped prevent the Great Crawfish Escape of 2011!. Had some good beer. Introduced the boy to more folk. Spent some time with my niece and nephew. Had a snowball.
Then, last night, my brother and I went and saw Thor. Awesome flick! I highly recommend it.
Today - the baptism, followed by more food and fun and my folks place.
Right now - off to breakfast.

One of my favorite pitchers (Tyler Clippard, Nationals, for those who actually care about baseball) used that song for his warm-ups last year. The whole ballpark crowd would sing along. He's got a different song this year, but there are still those of us who sing the peaches song when he comes out of the bullpen. :)

Heya Aberombie
Never had Crawfish - I am guessing they are similar to our Yabbies.
Best wishes for your boys baptism.

Yeah - a fellow baseball fan! My interest in baseball has shifted into a higher gear with the unexpected resurgence of my Cleveland Indians. Best record in the American League even after losing 3 in a row.

I was never into baseball until the Nationals moved to D.C. in 2005 and some friends talked me into going to the first game they played here. I've been hooked ever since. (In spite of the pain of the last six seasons. *sigh* Someday we'll have a winning team.)

The great crawfish escape sounds aswome....
It was hilarious. With crawfish you have to purge them before you boil them (i.e. get them cleaned up). So my dad had his old concrete sink set up in the back yard for just such an activity. Draining all that water out the sink caused the ground to soften up too much and the sink tipped over, spilling the second batch of crawfish all over the back yard. By the time we noticed, they were everywhere. Took three of us like 15 minutes to get them gathered up, and we don't think we got them all.

Australia has what we call "giant crayfish." I remember reading that somewhere. They usually are about a hand's length (for someone with big hands) and trapped in crawdad traps (no moving parts, rely on their clumsiness). Then the crawfish are boiled en masse.
Hmm... I sense that there will be a flame war over the correct name.

I was going to post something about this, but I thought <insert adverb here> of it.

You mean "insert adverb here."
You thought unintelligibly of it?

Good call. This really isn't the thread for that kinda crap.

Hello, all. What did I miss?
Bored retconning, time messing-around-with, and multiple personalities. Jerry married Susan, but she turned out to be a Borg, so Clark had to kill her after removing the mask he had made of Jerry's face. Then Susan's dead mother came back as a zombie and Ian had to go back and restart the universe. Oh, wait, that's not going to be my soap.
Also: pretensions! Do they even exist?
