It tastes like what you'd expect fizzy, watered-down, flavored milk would taste like.
you have to have it FRESH. If you let it sit, it will taste AWFUL. Timing is very important when enjoying an egg cream.
I refuse to take part in any cultural delicacy that involves a strange ritual beforehand. Good sir, I REFUSE.
Yeah, the last time I did that, the inside of my mouth tasted like burnt licorice for a week.

I'm a nerd and I walk and cycle.

I however am a Geek! Never a nerd.

The difference between a Geek and a Nerd is that Geeks have social graces and Nerds don't.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I just thought they were interchangeable.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Nobody has social graces. Most of the so-called socially attuned have no idea how to interact with me like I'm a human being. Therefore I consider them socially inept.

So since it came up a few pages back, I think I'm going to give a Nuzlocke Pokemon run a try. Never done so before. Specifically I'm going to run Crystal version and using a randomizer program to keep things a bit more unexpected.

I don't use Tumblr for much other than keeping track of my small handful of subscriptions - mostly art blogs and Out Of Context D&D - but it's probably the best format for this sort of thing without taking up a ton of space from my Dropbox so I'll probably upload it there and link here for anyone who might want to read.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

I've never gotten the appeal of Nuzlocke, admittedly.

I mean, I understand the wish for more challenge in a game aimed at children as its primary demographic, but...that's sort of what makes them fun for me. I don't have to learn a new set of mechanics every time, and it's a great turn your brain off game for me.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Normally I'd agree, but I'm willing to give it at least one shot before I write it off completely.

I'm still probably going to prefer playing the games the traditional way =) But can't hurt to try it once.

Have I mentioned that I have a gaming convention next weekend and I need to prepare lecture for Sunday?

Nothing like attending a wedding with all of your married friends to remind myself precisely how lonely you are. Fun times.

On the plus side, surprise Summer Cult reunion show.

Either you have too many too old friends or they got married much too early.

I'm in my late 20s, and most of my friends are in the 25-35 range. As a point of reference, my parents got married when my father was 25 and my mother was 28.

It's worth noting: you're wrong about something. I've not seen the plot of Crystal before, but intend to follow, nonetheless. ^-^

(EDIT: But I like your presentation, nonetheless. :D)

Wait...Pokemon games have a plot? I thought they were just about beating up critters until they love you, and then forcing them to fight each other for your joy and sense of accomplishment.

Then again, the only Pokemon gamed I ever played was Blue, back when it first came out. Probably still have it, somewhere.

The later games have something of a plot to them, though it's not exceptionally complex.

In other news, did anyone else's clocks go wonky last night? My alarm was supposed to wake me at 8:30 and did so... according to my cell phone, but my computer and everything online told me it was only 7:30 instead. DST isn't supposed to end until the beginning of November, so I can't tell if this is just a glitch on my end or something went wrong...

I think once I finish this project I'll do some of the other games I've been wanting to play/replay up on tumblr this way. The format is really, really well suited to screenshot-based LPs, and doesn't take up a ton of storage space on places like Dropbox or Google Drive where my resources are more limited. I'm liking this a lot more than I thought I would.
