Somewhat relevant.

Yesterday was yet another example of, "Why I don't particularly worry about all those uber-specific build arguments running amok in the Advice and Rules forums..."

Impus Major decided to do an AC build. So he's a 4th-level fighter with an AC of 31. Not bad at all...

'til he met an otyugh who just decided to grapple, pin, and eat him instead.

After narrowly avoiding the coup de grace, only thanks to much help from his friends, the party moved on...
...only to find an apparently-dead, giant, sewn-together construct in the next room.

Rest of party: "Impus Major! Get in there in case it wakes up!"
Impus Major: "No way! I'm not going in there!"
Rest of party: "What do you mean? It can't possibly hit you!"
Impus Major: "Look at its hands! It has big hands! It might grapple!"

Ah, to put the fear of combat maneuvers into a child. My life as a GM is complete.

Well, not really, but it was awesome!

Today my party's bard decided to make my life as GM easier at least until the next level. As they just hit 7th level, she picked cure serious wounds and displacement (or maybe invisibility sphere, I need to check with her) instead of haste and good hope. The party has a two-handed weapon wielding paladin, scimitar-and-shield ranger, and a fighter.

I am listening to Miley Cyrus...

I will go sit in the corner.

Among the other events, the party was visited today by an older pair - neighbors owning the adjacent lot with ruins of their old house trying to find someone to buy it so they could leave the city and start life in some more peaceful area. The husband mentioned a thousand, the wife corrected him to two thousand... Orin, the party's spirit ranger suddenly quipped that's too much... A thousand and half would be more appropriate. After a short bargain he discovered to be the owner of the ruined house for mere thousand and six hundred. He followed to pay immediately.

The day after he and the fighter discovered that the ruined house has a cellar (the entrance was under large amount of rubble and the previous owners were unable to remove it themselves) with a 100 liter keg of wine, one empty keg, one keg of vinegar, and one piece of fifteen year old cheese...

And now the witch is considering buying her own place to act as a workshop and alchemy shop.

But who cut the cheese!!

Dragon Age Inquisition's save importer is nothing but a b@~@$!## excuse for EA to clog my e-mail inbox with spam. Go f&$+ yourself, EA.

The cheese was used as a payment for rats that were interrogated in case of missing goblins.

Spoiler:
The witch was hiring a rat-catcher to get a few live rats for experiments. The rat-catcher mentioned that some of his goblins (he is using goblin prisoners to catch rats) gone missing. The witch started looking around and reached the conclusion that someone kidnaps and eats goblins - and it is something someone capable of opening simple locks. As they spoke with a few city guards, and others, there were some cases of missing goblin and orc prisoners. Some of the orcs were actually kidnapped and killed in small lynches by the citizens wanting vengeance on the orc raiders and invaders but some of the missing creatures could not be attributed to this or escape. There were also some signs of blood at the place of last goblinnapping. She brought the ranger who tracked around, found pieces of fresh goblin bones, and later got an idea for using speak with animals to get information from nearby rats that munched on the bones. They learned that the perpetrator was a thin man smelling of "old death", "fertile-fertile earth", and similar to witch (she is a herbalist). They also confirmed that he indeed gnawed on the goblin leg (they complained that he left not enough meat for them so they got cheese later). After consulting with paladin, bard, and NPC acolyte of Tyr (who also happens to be bard's lover, and now is becoming bard's cohort), they reached the conclusion that there is a ghoul that passes for human somewhere in the city. Yes, there is - it is an old crazy herbalist that they met many sessions ago. In fact, the ranger's players mentioned the herbalist asking if he could have access to "fertile-fertile earth" (herb garden). He did not seem to pursue that line of thought, however. I think I kept straight face when asked about the herbalist.

Alright lets give this one another go:-)

One hour in, and the tiny text in DA:I is already giving me a headache.

So far, not impressed with Dragon Age: Inquisition for the 360 (and I've heard the PC port has even more problems). The character models look weird, everything is way too shiny, and EVERYTHING IS WAY TOO G+@%@*N SMALL TO SEE. I can barely read the text on the screen, I can't see any of the icons well enough to be able to tell what they do, and the camera is zoomed so far out that I can't even tell who's who most of the time. From what I can tell, this game was made for people who have massive high-definition TVs, and for those of us who don't, well, we can just go f$*+ ourselves.

I would venture that DA:I is worse, with Skyrim and Mass Effect 3 on the same level just below it. Granted, I haven't played that many games, but it seems like tiny text is becoming the way of the future.

Hey, I don't have any issues with Mass Effect 3... oops, yeah, I have a 46" TV, sorry, never mind. I'll just go sit down now.

Yeah... mine's a decade-old 24" flatscreen that I fished out of a dumpster.

My monitor is smaller than that, however it is collecting dust because my TV is my monitor now.

Installed Windows 10 Friday night. No issues so far. Only had to fix two minor issues on my daughter's laptop when she upgraded. She couldn't wait to get off Windows 8.1

I have a 40 inch I fished off the curb, the switch to digital was quite fruitful for those of us not afraid of looking poor with a converter box :-)

Also it didn't have a remote, but that doesn't matter we don't have cable so we don't flip channels, also almost all television we watch is online so the tv is almost used exclusively for video games :-)

Regular 15.6" laptop screen here.

Well I haven't died, yet.

I'm almost second level, focusing on scorched earth magic this time

Godsdamnit!! You turn your eyes away from the southern border for two months to straighten out your border with the French and BOOOM you're having to deal with a huge Ummayad invasion to take back Aragon from you.

Can't wait for them to start fracturing I tells you.

And we're moving into the last week of this year's vacation, which apart from a visit from my mother's siblings, has been pretty bad. Haven't been able to get my sleeping pattern in good order, and not had enough money to go anywhere interesting. Good riddance, I say.

Meh, I would just bumped encounter CR by point of two... They are already steam-rolling over most combat encounters.

During this campaign only one character died, and it wouldn't happen if the player didn't want to change his character in the first place - which made him take extreme risks.

Are you sure you don't want to start a thread about how it completely destroyed your campaign, and most likely your crapper's ancient pipes and it's all Paizo's fault because of the ACG errata

Uh, suffer is irregular and does not get -s in third person, or is Google Docs dictionary wonky? Chrome itself does not seem to underline suffers so it seems to be Google Docs dictionary weirdness..

I doubt that my players even know of ACG existence, much less are affected by its errata in any way.

funny!

i can see myself returning from a walk with the dog when i do a street view of my house on googlemaps:-)

So far its a lot better then i remember.

Currently rampaging through the barrow for Skyrim Moira, the court wizard dude, also totally cut down a bunch of black turtlenecked cloak wearing D-Bag Vampires, the jerks never even got a hit in, i'm totally devastating s++* and i'm only third level, we'll see what happens when i run into the wannabe tiger woods giants that always launched me into the mountainside.

Rampageth!!!

However, I might need to rewrite therigens replacing Animal Soul bonus feat, as it was changed...

Where have I saved the errata file? Ah, never mind, I'll just download it again.

Yeah, the errated Animal Soul is much less interesting to theirgens, who by virtue of being fey are already immune to effects that are limited to humanoids.

That's a bummer!

Must resist commenting on a very stretched rule interpretation...

Whoever was interested with the further fate of badgers with opposable thumbs, might want to check the new version of Animalistic Spirit racial feature.

Crap. I need to edit Therigen Elder feat as well...

Not Badger! How will him and Freehold hitchhike to Europe without thumbs, Freehold's black manliness will only get them so far before fatigue sets in.

Oh, Badger will be all right. The new version of Animalistic spririts just allows therigens to be affected with harmless spells that target animals even though they are fey. It still allows therigens to ignore prerequisites of Aspect Of The Beast feat.
