Some of the recent threads around here haven't helped much with that, to say the least.

There's a lot of cool things in Golarion, but it's always been a thing to cobble stuff out of more than a setting to play in, for me.

I have already seriously altered golarion.

In my opinion, Golarion starts with kingmaker and the PCS making their own kingdom, and moving on from there.

My group's Golarion consists of everything contained in the first 2 APs and nothing else.

I plan to run it after Kingmaker with some serious alterations. It looks good thus far, but the paizo weakness of one adventure path, five authors is quite obvious here, especially with sci-fi elements involved.

I want to give my NPCs blasters because shooting at the PCs would be so much fun.

We don't run in Golarion, but we do run APs. Timeline-wise, we ran Kingmaker first, then we plan to jump some few thousand years forward and run Crimson Throne set in the capital city of the kingdom the players created. We'll be playing through Savage Tide between them though, to give the players a break away from their kingdom and exploring other parts of our homebrew world.

I get bored by horror, so I've turned Ustalav into an 30-Years-War era Ustalav expy instead. (With Molthune as the Spanish, Kyonin as the French, and no Swedes.)

Bored by horror? Heretic!

Jokes aside, I haven't played an AP word for word in a while.

I mostly try to get ideas for Mystralas on my own, but on occasion I could borrow elements from other settings as well.

Also, damn it! I forgot both my cellphone battery charger AND my memory stick at home.

So I won't be able to write my stories forward until Friday, and I will need to borrow someone else's charger.

I never have, I always end up changing something about the plot and the characters involved.

I tried running it word for word and it ended up ugly. I had to make changes, especially as different writers have different ideas that don't always play well together.

It's why I can't ever understand why people would start running an AP before the whole thing is released. How do you know you won't hit a snag that you'll want to alter, or find out something cool shows up with zero foreshadowing?

One of my groups rejects APs entirely, though I am not sure if I told of that before.

I don't think you're supposed to run the APs completely as written - they're there as a very elaborate starting point, but the GM will always know the needs and sensibilities of his or her group better than the adventure writers.

Wouldn't it, without Swedes, turn into something more like Ten-Years-War? Maybe Fifteen-Years-War at best?

new car, new car !!!!!!

today we get our family vehicle, a Skoda Octavia Station Wagon

we signed the contract early in august, delivery was scheduled for week 36! now we get it, only 14 weeks to late :-/ grrrrrr, but yeay new car (well, for Sabine, I will still drive my old Opel Astra)
the Skoda dealer pays 2 of the winter tires as compensation for the delay

I am fascinated by the cars in other countries. Opel I already knew was a subsidiary of General Motors, and it appears the Astra is sold in the US as a Chevrolet Cruze.

Skoda is a tougher one, so I had to look it up. As a property of Volkswagen, it shares a platform with the VW Golf and Audi A3, both of which can be found stateside.

I thought this would help the new world FAWTLs visualize your purchase :)

That's the intent from the authors and from Paizo, yes. Some GMs don't though.

Probably. Although the Danes made an attempt at intervening before the Swedes stuck their oars in rather more successfully (due to having practiced by beating up Poles first. ;) )

I don't think my group has ever managed to run through an AP as-written without causing some kind of major plot-changing event. I'm tempted to run the Lovecraftian Horror version of Kingmaker we ended up with on here sometime.

The rest of the world? We alter it in a lot of places based on what we agree with from the latest supplement. We recently added an overdeity of sorts to allow for this: Retconnia, who alters reality whenever she gets bored and has been known to make heroes mythic for such things as successfully killing a rodent. Most of what she does is based purely on personal amusement.

Sort of. Back in shape, but I've had bronchitis since October, and there's still one more doctor visit to go.

At this point, I'm basically an expired hot pocket. Looking good on the outside, but the inside's full of cheese and dead maggots.

Maggots are a source of protein when times are lean.

David, I will have you in my thoughts.

And, just in case, on my necromancy list. What type of undead do you want to be? No liches; I can't get an easy supply of Japanese schoolgirls, drop bears, or backpack nukes anymore. And they look at me funny every time I buy rat poison and razorblades.

Sweden cheated by getting rid of Sigi and keeping Gustav Adolf. It should be Gustav Adolf who would candidate and be elected to Commonwealth throne... :/

On the plus side - I've finished the morning's 3 hours of paper delivery in sleet and strong winds (stay indoors if you're in Norway, says the Norwegian authorities), and is lieing in bed with a cup of hot tea.

On the downside - in 15 minutes I have to go out and start a (hopefully just) 5-hour shift.

I ran a quick Pathfinder game yesterday for a group of beginners.

While it was pretty fun, there were two dudes at the table who didn't care much.

Also, I'm not going to try advertising my blog anymore. It seems people just don't show interest in it. *Sighs*

Either way, some of the guys liked the session so much they want me to continue tomorrow. An unusual adventurer group stuck in Belkzen, of all places!

It's winter! It's cold! There is rain, and strong winds! Ai! Ai! Cue nationwide panic! (in tabloid media-land, at least). This obviously means that Paizo's Moses of Snow is reaching the climax of some Epic-level ritual in the NYC Temple of Talos, lightning playing about his mass of gold chains as a horde of sexy storm elementals cavort maniacally about him.

Or, in dub reggae terms,

Freehold come.

I think I will finally start writing down one of my ideas for a base class - Artifact Class: Hammerhand. A class representing character that bonded with artifact hand/arm. Inspiration would be Hellboy, Vladyn from Valdis Story, my own devourer of spirit, and a few other ideas.

Of course I haven't finished many of the, uh, recent (for a value of recent being 'started in the last five years') base classes. The two classes that were actually finished had been pushed to it by publication.

I can't wait for the moment Vladyn is released as playable character...
