How could anyone make fun of Patrick? Or is there something I'm missing?

Obviously, I'm another vote against Facebook. Although that could change if something big and sweaty goes down.

I go by Patrick because 'Pat' can be abused highly. I have been called at several junctions Fat Pat, Patrica, Patty-cakes, et al banal.

Curtin of course lends itself to stupid jokes: 'hang around Curtin!', 'you're kinda shady Curtin', har de har har. The sad thing is that every one of the mouth breathers who comes up with a name like this thinks they are the wittiest Neanderthal to ever slouch out of the cave ....

O.o People mocking Pat? They wouldn't get far here. I know more Pat's (with derivatives) than I can count on both hands. :P
It falls under 'ethnic name' in the great ol' You Ess Ayyy. Thus, not all that common, even in Massachusetts, the Lost County of Ireland =P

I must be staying in the Irish quarter every time I visit my cousin Pat in Boston so. :P Wouldn't surprise me at all, my uncle did immigrate.

Man, County Boston is totally my favourite holiday destination. :D I need to get back over there again. California this year though.

Not sure if the timing works out, but I could imagine the "Pat" skits on SNL might have provided some extra grist for the insult mill.

I guess Southie counts as the 'Irish Quarter'. There's also the South Shore, affectionately called the 'Irish Riviera'. If you are ever back in Beantown, you can always hit me up on a PM. I live on Cape Cod, and I am always happy to see a gamer come through. Plus, nice beaches to relax on!

Oh, cool! :D I surely will, next time I'm over. The family is in Brighton, but I always end up traveling about when I'm there. :)

It's damn good to have you back, Lord synos.

Hello.

Back from dentist.
Tooth filling done.

But the dentist found a sneaky bastard hole hiding on the tooth next to it that she missed last time and now I have another appointment for next Tuesday.

The Napa Valley for a couple days (big brother's getting married there), and then San Francisco for a week. Will be the first time I'll be in the States for Thanksgiving and Black Friday (that I can remember). I'm excited. ^_^

Gah. Worst onion ever. *weepy-eyed*

Wonder what it'd have done to someone who always get teary-eyed from onion chopping.

Patrick is very common in Germany, especally in my generation,

usually the "a" is spoken as i "bar" or "jar" but some Patricks insist on theEnglish pronounciation

One week into my first consulting gig. It's going well, but the 130 mile round trip is grinding me down. Tonight I got a hotel room to stay closer. On a brighter note, so far my efforts have been well received.

Silver Crusade

Holy Crap 130 miles, isn't that like 1/10th the width of texas

Not quite, according to wiki Texas's width is 773 miles, so it's more like 1/6th.

For a man with such a pleasant demeanor, you do have an inordinate amount of enemies

Did anybody else watch Phineas and Ferb: Night of the Living Pharmacists?

I have that lots of me song from the end stuck in my head....

Not as random as you might think. FHDM's large number of nemeses reminded me of Dr Doofenschmirtz.....does this make Joss Whedon Perry the Platypus?

But don't mind me, I'm obviously a few picnics short of a sandwich....

One of my coworkers has nicknamed me Perry after that show. Which I've never seen. So no idea if it fits.

I decided to do NaNo this year and I'm already stuck on the outline, it's hasn't even started yet and already with the writers block....time to brush off the procrastination skills....

I'm going to give it a shot. Not sure if I should try to pick up the partial story I did back in 2009's NaNo and continue it or try something fresh.

Orthos wrote:

It's an awesome show. I highly recommend it. I think it's on netflix too. Much like Adventure Time I would watch it even if I didn't have the convenient excuse of the kidlet. :)

I do like me some Adventure Time.
