Fear for me, FAWTL.

Tomorrow I and but a handful of others will stand strong against the tide of an invading army.

But this is not the invasion force..but a scouting mission. The greenest among the frontliners. They may be the least trained among them, but their numbers eclipse our meager personnel exponentially.

I fear I may not survive Freshman Frenzy.

hi everyone,

we booked 5 days in a babyfriendly hotel ( a familotel) in the last week of october, wohoooo
it is in Westfalia in a region called Das Sauerland (The Sourland)

damn, I look foreward to this, one week without the stress here at home and at work

We had a decent holiday at Weissenhäuser Strand (a resort up by the Schledwig-Holsteiner Baltic coast) when I was 10 or 11 - might be worth checking out when Marlon's a few years older.

(We went in the winter, though, because my youngest brother had spent most of the summer getting treatment for the side-effects of his leukemia-treatment. So we never really got to visit the actual strand)

Schleswig-Holstein is the only German State I have never been to, not intentionally, just never happend

(Wacken lies there)

Actually, come to think about it - men's shorts have gotten a bit long. Unless you're in a job that needs a lot of pockets, there's no reason for them to stop below mid-thigh. Let's give the girls (and some of the other boys) something hairy to gawk at.
Meanwhile, women's fashion has relocated to the grand Pocket Desert and primarily switched to offering us the insulting sacrifice of the decorative fake pocket.

That's because you can put things in your stomach-pouch, duh.

** spoiler omitted **

Are you sure there are no pockets? On a lot of suits, the pockets are sewn shut for transport, but you are supposed to pull out that stitch. Make sure that is the case, though, before you start pulling apart your suit :)

So, Lovecraft Bar happened :)

FHDM and I made a pilgrimage to Katz's Delicatessen and then had drinks at Lovecraft. That place is f~~!ing awesome. Of course, that could be the after-effects of my absinthe talking.

Hmm...

Iä Iä!

Slaadi are listed as example of aberrations. I am not sure how will Ambrosia feel about that.

Meh, a feeble attempt for a Prime to encapsulate and label what it is to be Of Chaos. When Order is shattered and Reality falls, I'm make sure the 5e developers are ReMade as mud slaadi.

Why does it always rain on me?
Is it because I lied when I was seventeen?

Because the clouds want "to be near you, to love you, to cherish you, and to water you"?

I'd prefer for birds to suddenly appear when I'm near.

I wonder how Mav-Numas sounds as a name for a city or a nation.

Depends how it fits with other city/nation names in the setting. But I do like strangely sounding names. Even if later have problem with recalling them.

Time to sleep.

And morning...

Huh? No one's here? Was I left alone? Have everyone migrated to FAWTL 7 already?

I have also just woken up recently.

Q: What's red and bad for your teeth?

A: A brick.

...and the job search continues. I just followed up on a promising job in the Houston area (although a long drive). Unfortunately it came down to me and one other candidate. The other candidate had worked for the hiring manager before so he made the offer to him. Understandable.

On the bright side, the hiring manager is very interested in another role we discussed, lean manufacturing consultant. This may be enough to push me over the edge toward starting up my consulting firm. Another company in addition to this one also expressed interest in me in the consultant role. It would be a nice start to have two clients right off the bat.

As an aside, I did take some time today to download the Advanced Class Guide and study the arcanist. Now I can have him all updated for my Wrath of the Righteous game tonight.

So far, the little I've glanced at it, I like the Advanced Class Guide.

APARTMENT GET!!

Given all the headaches and false starts I've had, the landlady convinced the complex owners to give me a chance - I have to pay a slightly larger deposit, but they're willing to override the credit complaint due to the difficulty I've had in finding anyone to settle it with.

As soon as I hand over that deposit tonight after work, a place is locked down for me. I'll be able to move by the end of the month.

I own a home.

It doesn't feel odd. It doesn't feel real yet. Maybe once we move in, maybe once there is new paint on the walls. Then maybe, it will feel odd.

Just remember to start saving for the eventual house related emergency as well as for a new AC unit and roof. Both of the last two will come sooner than later and if you have some saved up then you will prevent a BIG headache.

P.S. - Gratz! Glad to hear that and may you ahve many wonderful memories there.

Awesome! Now to gather furnishings... like a bed... or something.
