Have an awesome time with your son!

I've been busy the past couple of weeks, and it doesn't look like it will end for a couple of weeks, but it's a good kind of busy.

However, I made time to post a new monster.

I will be putting up a second one later today.

Huzzah! A fun looking critter.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if it would fit in your Kingmaker game, but it's yet another fey creature. :)

Also, watch out for your animal companions with this one!

I am not opposed to more fey =) This one's not nearly a threat to my group as it would be to others, having no one with an animal buddy (my party is Oracle, Warmage, Cavalier [no mount], Hunter [Fistful of Denarii version, thus no pet], Samurai), but I might have one or two show up just for flavor purposes when the fey weirdness increases. Maybe have it go after their farms.

... actually there's quite a bit of ruckus something like this could kick up amidst domesticated livestock in a newly-settled area of a formerly-wild territory...

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Friday!! It's a little gloomy here in Louisiana. But that's all good.

Had a bit of work yesterday - a meeting in downtown New Orleans at One Shell Square. It went ok. Not good, but not as bad as expected.

More importantly, we were able to surprise my mother for her birthday. We stopped briefly over at her house to give her a gift and let her know I had been lying to her about our arrival schedule. We did not have time to stay long, but may try to take her and my father to lunch today.

As a bonus, my grandmother (dad's mom) is in town for a visit and stopped by while we were there. So she got to (briefly) see two of her great grandchildren.

And my younger brother may try to get in touch with her to see if she wants to come to the Christening tomorrow. It's otherwise tough for her, because she doesn't drive herself, and such long drives are tough on her sister.

As an aside, my grandmother is over ninety, and I'm fairly certain she could kick my ass if she wanted to.

Mrs Rumnaheim and I are leaving to drive up to Minnesota this morning. We are going to take the pottery pieces currently sitting in my parent's garage that we made during my parent's 50th wedding anniversary weekend to a local kiln to get bisque fired. If we deliver them by tomorrow (Friday) they can turn them around for us by July 3rd. Then we pick them up and make the 19 hour drive back home.

A lot of driving, but it is worth it since one of the pieces is a platter we made that we all signed and marked the occasion.

Pictures from when we made the pieces are on facebook. After the pieces have been glazed, I'll post pictures here.

I hope the drive goes well! Be safe! And I would love to see those pictures! I just don't have a facebook account.

it will still be about a month before the pieces all finished. I will post a link here so that you can see them.

I don't understand a trend I've seen with the online job applications I've been filling out. Probably 90% of them require you to upload a resume, but after you've done so, you have to fill out page after page of questions where everything on your resume gets typed into little boxes. If you're going to ask me all about my work history and skills on the application proper, why ask for a resume? All it does is pad out the already long application process and add unnecessary headaches to it all. Some of these s#+&s run 20 pages or more and take HOURS to complete a single application.

I know what you mean. I hate the redundancy in many job application sites. Poor web design makes me cringe.

That's brutal. I'm sorry to hear it. There isn't much worse than seeing someone you love slip away mentally. I hope it's temporary and she recovers soon.

Sweet Zombie Vecna on a Pogo Stick! That was a long day. Got up at 0500, was at work by 0600. Left work at 1630, the got home, packed up the car and family, and got on the road.

Some McDonalds, one 5-hour energy drink, a leaky diaper, a crying baby, and plenty of rain later, and we finally made it to my in-laws place around quarter to midnight.

I can relate.

Morning FaWtL folk. Hope all and sundry are well today, and issues are being resolved in a quick and pleasant manner. The sky fire returns once more, though the overcloud is ever present of the horizon, so how things will go is anyone's guess. Thank the RNG that the weekend is so close now. I would say I look forward to sleeping in, but that's not exactly on the agenda this weekend. :P

Morning! I hope your day is going well! And, I am glad the overcloud is gone for the moment! I hope it stays gone.

Orthos wrote:

So in other but equally frustrating news, back to Orthos's Apartment Hunting Saga.

Over the majority of June I've been working on moving out of my parents' place and into an apartment, as I've mentioned before. The past two weeks, that's been on hold due to my application being locked out by what appears to be an outstanding debt with one of my prior apartment complexes. Nevermind that it's been eight years since I lived there, and that in that time I'd applied at three other apartments and never had this debt come up on the radar.

So last Thursday I called them up. They've since been sold to a new owner, who doesn't have those records. So I called the credit company whose number was on my credit report. After getting the runaround from their machines for ten minutes, I finally got to speak to someone flesh and blood, and got them to send me the paperwork. APPARENTLY, they can't just confirm my identity the normal way (Full name, social security number, current address, and other standard questions), but rather they had to send me some paperwork, I fill it out and fax it back, and THEN they can send me the paperwork that actually has the information I need to dispute the debt or pay it. And no, they can't just forward me to the people I actually (presumably) owe money to.

So I filled out the paperwork and faxed it back to them. That was a week ago. I hadn't heard a thing from them. I hadn't received any emails - and I've been checking my spam folders obsessively. So after calling the apartment and making sure it hadn't accidentally gotten sent to them instead (which it hadn't), I called them back, and sat through another ten minutes of robots. They'd never received the faxes. They wanted information that I'd never received to verify my case identity and other junk - stuff they were supposed to send me last Thursday. Which, again, I never received.

Thankfully telling them to email it again seems to have done the job, and rather than faxing I'm going to fill it out tonight and email it back. That way...

Our credit system is broken, evil and stupid!

Also when you do this for a temp agency why the hell do you have to repeat the process verbatim for each position they might have. It makes the baby Jesus cry. *head desk*
