Morning FaWtL folk. :) Hope everyone is well today, slept pleasantly, and have a good day ahead. Cloud cover has returned to our fair city, and the temperature has dropped to regular levels. Summer over? Only time shall tell.

Morning! I hope your day is well! And I hope the temperature stays reasonable!

I found a postcard on Monday asking for a customs charge for a parcel, unfortunately it was dated 31/5/14 & they only hold parcels for 21 days.

However, thank goodness for Royal mail's incompetence - it was still there yesterday.

I'm glad the package was still there!

Okay, so the rains have started. Much needed, in general. While I welcome the refreshing, cleansing rains, this does cast a pall over the kidlet's coming visit. He loves outdoors and going for walks and walking about, and this shall be limited now. Curse you overcloud!

Dark Archive

He comes tomorrow morning btw. Can't wait to see him. ^_^ Any ideas on how to make indoors fun for a restless, energetic 17 month old? :P So many things are outdoors things! Still, we have many toys, and the bidet. I'm sure I can keep him entertained. Mostly. :P

Wow.
One time I went to visit my dad when he was working in Augusta, Georgia, and we ended up going to Denny's for lunch. He ordered a ginger ale, whereupon the waitress told him that they didn't have any, but could "make some." He asked what that entailed, to which the waitress replied, "It's OK, we can just mix some Coke and Sprite together. It's the same thing."

It's an old bartender trick to make drinks that call for ginger ale (like Presbyterians) since a lot of bars back in the day didn't keep ginger ale in stock and didn't have it on the well gun. It does more or less taste like ginger ale, actually.

The method is Sprite with a splash of Coke. Too much Coke ruins the effect.

My dad was a little "not himself" from the anesthesia after his colorectal cancer removal and colostomy procedure, but nothing that extreme. +1 to wishes for her speedy recovery and hopefully there'll be no further behavior incidents.

Ugh.

Wife went to get her drivers license renewed.

So.

She.....never got my last name put on her soc. sec. card when we got married. So, she went to the social security office and they said her drivers license was expired (two whole days ago--thought she had til the end of the month).

So she says "what the hell am I gonna do?"

And the lady at social security says "you can start by not cursing at me" and she calls the security guards on my wife to escort her out. Now, on Easter Sunday I got called in for a lung scan and I got vomited on. The lady was really sorry, and, you know, I felt bad that she wasn't feeling good, but the fact of the matter is this: I get this stinky brown vomit on me that looks like chewing tobacco and smells worse, but this little *t*hole at the soc sec office gets to call security on my wife for saying "hell?" Really? F*+$ing HELL? Wow. I wish I had that luxury.

Can you see that the word isn't even covered up on this website you byoch?

Anyway's the drivers license people.....I went down there and we got it figured out, and it should be handled now.

Now, Libertarians,......they don't actually want to live in Mogadishu. They're just tired of stupid b#*$+#&@ like this.

Little *t*hole petty bureaucrats who don't want to figure out a problem so want to just game you out. I'm all for the death penalty for that kinda s+%* when I'm king of the world.

My sympathies to Sabine, her mum, and her grandma. My nana had a stroke when I was little, and she was not quite the same after it. It's unsettling seeing someone you care about be so unlike themselves. I hope she gets well soon, and can get to write her book.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Thursday!! It's looking to be a rather wet day here in Louisiana.

Scarab Sages

Sweet Zombie Vecna on a Pogo Stick! That was a long day. Got up at 0500, was at work by 0600. Left work at 1630, the got home, packed up the car and family, and got on the road.

Some McDonalds, one 5-hour energy drink, a leaky diaper, a crying baby, and plenty of rain later, and we finally made it to my in-laws place around quarter to midnight.

Scarab Sages

Now I'm relaxing a bit. Later I'll get a shower and head over to a meeting at One Shell Square.

At some point I'll go see my mother and father. Today is the mother-lady's birthday, so this'll be a surprise.

Scarab Sages

For now, I need more coffee.
