Back from work. Tired but at least tomorrow I will have a fay off.

Mother came back from the doctor with news that she has suspicious results of examinations so, to avoid potential risk of development of cervical cancer she will go to surgery in a month or so.

I'm sorry that happened. And I am sorry PayPal is such of a pain about this.

That is why I don't leave accurate bank info on my PayPal account; if hacked, hackers can't use it.

You missed the Singularity. It was beautiful!

And now we're all slaves to our new robotic overlords.

I didn't miss it either! Because I'm always watching.

I'm glad you have a few days off!

And, I hope your mother comes out of the surgery just fine. I also hope she doesn't have cancer.

Ugh. My mom went through that too. It's a pretty routine procedure for doctors these days, but it sure doesn't feel that way to the patient and family. I wish her a uneventful medical procedure and a speedy complication-free recovery.

Ugh. It's bad enough being violated by having your account info stolen, but why do the people at Paypal (and banks and credit agencies) have to make fixing it so painful and head-against-wall frustrating? It sucks what you're going through Sharoth, and I hope the hackers find their hard drives stuffed full of drunk clown-porn-loving pugwampis.

Woot indeed!

And me too! Woot if you want - I'm in the "God it's awful" stage of my relationship with it.

We're usually our own worst critics and disproportionately so... Judging by how hard it was to even get one submission into this issue, yours has to be good just by virtue of being accepted! So triple-w00t for Kajehase!

oh joy. F-ing paypal said that it will take up to two weeks to get my money back and I have to transfer it back to my bank myself. I think that my paypal and e-bay account are about to get closed out and never used again.

I've yet to hear of anyone NOT getting hacked, regardless of how often/little they use the account. I got hacked, and I only used it for 3 purchases over a year. PayPal's security, and fraud prevention/resolution, are a joke. (Granted, as someone who worked in Fraud Resolution department for a major credit card, I tend to be harsher on this than others may be.)

Wow.

One time I went to visit my dad when he was working in Augusta, Georgia, and we ended up going to Denny's for lunch. He ordered a ginger ale, whereupon the waitress told him that they didn't have any, but could "make some." He asked what that entailed, to which the waitress replied, "It's OK, we can just mix some Coke and Sprite together. It's the same thing."

I didn't think Denny's employees got mythic abilities, like "not ginger ale" into ginger ale. I guess I learned something new.

People say/do the darnedest things some times, eh? To someone who doesn't like/drink ginger ale, they may as well be the same thing. Still, I find this hilarious. Did he give it a try just to see? :P

Just to play Devil's Advocate on this quickly, I've been using Paypal for... a few years now? I want to say 5. Anyways, a good while. I use it about 3 - 4 times a month. I've never been hacked. So, here's one person who hasn't been hacked. (Though I'm probably jinxed now :P )

That being said, it sucks that you, and so many you know, have been, and you have my sympathies. I use a top up credit card with the account, so even if it was hacked, I can't lose much. I can only imagine how frustrating having to replace it and deal with FR is.

I found a postcard on Monday asking for a customs charge for a parcel, unfortunately it was dated 31/5/14 & they only hold parcels for 21 days.

However, thank goodness for Royal mail's incompetence - it was still there yesterday.

As far as I know my paypal hasn't been hacked yet... or if it was, the hackers saw that scale of transactions I do through it, laughed, and went their way. Not to mention it is almost empty through my own spendings, like $0.23 or something like that...

I likewise have yet to be hacked *knock on wood*. Thankfully my Paypal isn't directly tied to my bank account, just my debit card. But I'm loathe to just delete it as that's where I get paid for freelancing.

I am almost sorry for my coworker who had to handle whole dispatch from 8 to 10, when other coworker comes to work, alone. Almost.

Then I remember that particular coworker is going for holidays the week after the next one and I will be doing exactly that every damn day for five days...
