Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Wednesday! It was another somewhat chilly morning here in Houston (damn, I've yet to get tired of mentioning being in this city), but I switched back to my usual jacket. Supposed to be sunny and up into the high 40s/near 50 today. Not too bad.

Scarab Sages

But I'd best put some clothes on before I catch a cold!!!

Whoops, forgot my lunch today. So I might have to nip out and find some. Or go hungry.

:(

Anyway hope everyone's day will see them well and in fine spirits.

Scarab Sages

Stoopid f@@$ing phone.

Stoopid f*#*ing Sprint.

Stoopid f~~#ing office wifi that our piece of crap IT douche never bothered to get running at full strength again.

Scarab Sages

And I see we have new people. DAMN! We hit 100K and all of a sudden we're popular and s#~@.

Scarab Sages

That's gotta have some folks rolling in there graves, so to speak.

Scarab Sages

But, I digress.

The kids and wife all went to bed somewhat early last night, so I got to watch my Supernatural episode in peace. Then I was flipping through channels and found the new Evil Dead playing. It was OK, I guess. Not as funny as the original, and they seemed to go more for shock-torture porn-gore instead.

Scarab Sages

But the post-credits cameo by Ash was sweet.

Porn? Tell us more about that porn!

Scarab Sages

Is it sad that I turned off the wifi on my phone and I'm getting better results?

Scarab Sages

We need new IT people here in my office. The existing one's an evil douche.

Scarab Sages

Actually, that might be an insult to the forces of evil and to douches everywhere.

Torture porn. That's (almost) never the good kind. Unless it involves candle wax, maybe.

Scarab Sages

I need a new insult for my useless office IT person (I can't even bring myself to call him a guy or dude).

Maybe "You play ball like a girl".

Isn't that normal with most electronic devices?

It seems the Speed Force and tons of fan pressure are good at helping a speedster escape the event horizon of a memory hole.

(Ponders possibility of Freehold being the New52's Reverse Flash. Or at least Captain Cold.)

Meh, if he's only gonna be playing fiddle to Barry Allen, then f!$# it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I like Barry. But Wally was my Flash. And I guess listening to Barry Boys whine and b%+@! for over 20 years about "Wally Worst" and how they should bring Barry back, and then they let SuperTool Grant Morrison do it in a lame way with the mega karaoke machine storyline....

It bugs me.

So my job contract got extended by another month.

Part of me is overjoyed because I'm getting some more money.

Another part of me is worried about time, since I need that to study and write.

Scarab Sages

Not to mention that article said the new Flash creative team is drawing from guys working on Green Lantern Corps. Sorry, but there's a reason I have up on all things Green Lantern.

Scarab Sages

They'll probably make the Speed Force finite and now Barry's gotta stop others from using it.

Scarab Sages

All right folks! Enough ranting for now. I'm gonna go be productive, or something.

Maybe I'll go get a candy bar.

Or some hot chocolate - damn that s**%'s addictive.

Meal before going to work.

Drive to work was significantly better than drive home. 20-minute drive became 40-min, and that only really because I was driving at 25-30 instead of the normal 40 speed limit.

Also learned that in low gear my car starts shaking like Crowley's Bentley if it gets up to 35. In normal gear it does the same thing around 70-75. If nothing else, nobody ever has to worry about me speeding on the highways.

Beware of Fawtl, it can be highly addictive. Luckily I am just a casual user you know a little on the weekends maybe at party.

But I can quit anytime I want...Really It's totally under control

Linguistic Oddity. Is it true, Scandinavian types?

The Scandinavia and the World one is fairly spot on in terms of the stereotypes (although the Finnish stereotype could just as well be for rural Swedes as well).

The first one... eh. At least in Swedish we certainly say pojkvän/flickvän (boyfriend/girlfriend) if we're talking about the person. "Älskling" is for when we're speaking to our romantic partner. As in: "Could you pass the butter, älskling?" Or: "Yes, älskling, those shoes look great. Just like the ten other pairs you've tried on."

hi everyone

The thing is evil dead was supposed to be a scary movie that ended up being cheesy. I didn't mind seeing it as it was originally intended.

No, the network is often better without wifi.

Back from the second first day in new job this week.

Less stressful, more boring.

I consider taking overtime tomorrow and day after tomorrow - I would be sitting at work from 4 pm to 4 am but I would at least balance the loss of Tuesday to get as much as I got for last week.

I don't know if I would survive that.

Off to bed for now.

Sleep well!

Why is it whenever I hear a horrible lyric swap of a children's song, I remember it better than the actual lyrics?

It's called the Boodalay Principle.
