::sigh::
Just put down the computer and back slowly away.
I felt I had a nice exchange with Sebastian. I'm done with that thread (and similar) now. Nothing to see there but ... wow ... just, wow.
It's a decisive topic. Once that fact has been well and truly accepted, it becomes a lot easier to read.

That sucks! I hope your pain subsides soon.

I might have shared a little more than was warranted...
that's horrible to read. It hurts whenever I hear stories like that. All I can offer is sympathy and the observation that you're building the family you should have had yourself as a child. That's the best answer to such a childhood.

It's what I hope to do. I noticed you removed your last post from that clusterf%&@, it was pretty spot on.
I think I should just try to ignore that whole thread...
And thanks Jess, being a father is my chance to sort of rectify my past.

+1
That can be a real challenge, and I give you a lot of credit, LPM. I speak from some level of personal experience, but nothing I really want to post about...

Yeah, I failed my will save, but had time to rethink my post and decided it smartest to withdraw it. It served no purpose except to express my anger. Much as I feel that anger is reasonable, it's not worth poisoning the boards further.
Besides, giving into my temper makes me feel less superior. :p
I had relatives on both sides of the family with similar stories. One, when my parents found out, they put a stop to it. The other only started after my mom was no longer a part of their lives, and when she found out when the child became an adult, she was wracked with guilt that she wasn't there to help. Both of the sets of children did what you are doing - built lives that wouldn't pass on that horrible legacy.
It's inspiring to see. I salute you, sir.

It's ok for me though... ;-)
I've really had to fight to not respond in snark. And just when you thought it couldn't get any lower...

The asshats on the boards don't bother me much. It's the rehashing of the past.

I may resemble that remark.
Of course my view point on both the OP and on the current rant is that it is not just a one sided issue and anyone trying to make it so is clearly missing the point.
Just not worth the effort to post it in said thread.

this is as it should be. Noone can make you feel inferior on the Internet without your consent, but a person's past is something they must deal with every day of their life, for they are always creating it. I am glad that you are keeping the pen of your autobiography firmly in hand, and are writing chapters that you can be proud of.

Greetings all. I'm fairly new to the Paizo boards and I recently got pointed to this thread.
Now let's see if I've got this right. This thread is a place of wackiness, weirdness and sometime awesomeness. A place where smart, sexy women and intelligent men hang out.
FAWTL is where you post until the thread gets so long that the boards break right? Then you move on to do it again?
Did I get everything right or did I miss anything?
Oh, and there's the zombie that loves soap operas (or is it writes them?).

I like Mr. Pibb a lot too. You know, it's really almost the same thing as Dr. Pepper...

Add Diplomacy to the list - it will kill a friendship stone dead - especially when you show your ally one set of orders and hand in a different set of orders. I almost won with Italy but everybody decided I was being a douche and smashed me :-( .
