Going to sleep.

First time sleeping in new place... Meh. We'll see.

Stay warm.

My son in law's Mom has mercifully passed away.

Thank you all for all the good thoughts and prayers.

Take care.

My condolences BT. My uncle just passed this past week as well. It was not unexpected, but it was still a blow, and brought up emotions tied to other recent things. I hope your daughter and son-in-law are doing ok.

thank you

Positive waves to both of you, BT and Patrick. One of my fraternity brothers is also dealing with a loss this morning - a fellow law enforcement officer he works with.

Thanks.

I'm not going to catch up on 364 posts, but I hope you are all doing well.

Mid 60s here. Just drove from Chattanooga to Lafayette and back with the windows down and blasting Two Steps From Hell the whole way.

Only complaint was that my hands got cold, but turning on the air vent (not heat, not AC, just vent) to middle-of-the-circle temp solved that problem easy.

Was beautiful out otherwise. I love the Georgia countryside away from the city. I'd live out there myself if I could afford it. The older I get the more I want to live away from cities and with some actual space between me and other people.

:)

What would our fellow fawtls be in terms of character levels with respect to our jobs?

I think we did this once before, but it was a loooooong time ago and we've got 100k posts to get to and this will help us fill some space.

Is minarchist gun nut a class?

*yawn*

Head aches a bit. Local weather or the neck being stiff after sleeping on a new bed?

Read it in this guy's voice

What a lovely Sunday, somehow I woke up earlier and feel nicely motivated to do stuff. I hope that continues.

And glad to hear that you got over here alright, Drejk.

Headache recurring from time to time. And no sane chance of sleeping here with all that commotion around - father watching tv, mother in kitchen...

I decided to look it up. It looks like Krakow to Paris is 22 hours and Paris to London (via the Chunnel) is about 4 hours. Yeah, it looks like the flight saved you some time.

Silver Crusade

Cake is in the oven. I'm a little concerned it isn't "setting" like I want it to. It should be almost done, and is instead still quite gelatinous.

Glad to hear you are safe, drejk

Another short night sleeping. Napping a big possibility today.

DARKLIGHT SISTERHOOD SUNDAY WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I am soaking my chicken in buttermilk for sunday fried chicken tonight. Just noticed that the buttermilk is bulgarian cultured buttermilk.

I thought bulgaria dissapearred awhile ago

Disappeared how? Slid into the Black Sea? Nope, still there.

Ugh. I have not started the chicken yet and I am already tired.

This cake is a thing to behold, though. And the scalloped potatoes are mostly cooked, so that all I have to do is heat them after I take the chickens out if the oven.

Cheer up, CH, you're almost done! Don't you wish you could taste the cake, though, to be sure it turned out right. I'm convinced recipes should make two cakes, one to serve and one to 'test'.

Silver Crusade

I know! I tasted the batter and the frosting, and a little piece that fell off when I removed it from the pan (now concealed with frosting), but you don't get the full effect that way.

It's just not the same.

Good thing your potatoes are done. I have the hardest time getting scalloped potatoes cooked through. It seems like they always need about double the cooking time.

We're finishing the white chicken lasagna today, and I'm making turkey noodle soup. Om nom.

I'll never tell:

Isn't it awful how pieces of cake just happen to fall off and you have to taste them? I hate when that happens.

Celestial Healer wrote:

Well, according to one hypothesis, it might have happened in the past. ;)

Oh my word it was a long day today.

Closer once again neglected to complete roughly half of the closing tasks, setting me about half an hour behind...conveniently, the exact amount of time I'm given to prep for opening. This would have been fine if she hadn't left a full cup of water on the paper towel shelf in addition to the seven or eight "whoops I forgot" items.

Which is approximately 5'6" off the ground.

Which has approximately half a foot on me.

Which means there was no chance I'd be able to see the impromptu booby trap before reaching for the paper towels.

And that was just in the span of the first 35 minutes of my 7 hour shift.

Good night everyone.

'Night, Drejk. *Headbonk* Best wishes for Monday.

DARKLIGHT SISTERHOOD SUNDAY WAS AWESOME!!!!!!! Thrills spills chills, etc.

Goblins?

Good heavens, Drejk, did you have to bring the weather with you? o_O

Meh. I woke up with hurting head/neck and hurting backbone. It might be the bed, mattress or weather. It's terribly windy and a bit rainy. Still no super-storm they talked all the day since Saturday evening but flying yesterday or today could be terrible...

Treppa wrote:

Actually the weather in Poland when I was leaving was nice. It was also nice weather here in Norfolk on Sunday. It went worse at night. Probably the supply of nice weather I brought with me was used up yesterday.

Well, actually the forecast has it good again for midday! Yay for the changeable English weather, what else would the English have to talk about? Queues, snooker, cricket and the price of fish.

Anyway hope it's a lovely morning to all and that the week will progress upon a positive direction.

That reminds me that I hope to eat some decent fish soon. Being in place much closer to sea than my home city should have some benefits beyond wind and seagulls, after all.

I hope the guy in white is just lamenting the loss of his car or storage and not some unfortunate person who got stuck inside =(

Or not lamenting at all and just trying to search the wreckage, that would be good too.

Scarab Sages

Good morning FAWTLY Folk!! Happy Monday! And I say that despite the pain in my shoulder and neck. Think I pulled a muscle. But that's why God invented ibuprofen and icy hot!!!!!

Scarab Sages

All in all, not a bad weekend. Charlie napped Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We carved pumpkins over at my brother's house in Saturday. There were hotdogs. And beer.

Sunday was a pretty quiet day. Did some grocery shopping, a little house cleaning, and some laundry.

Scarab Sages

And at the grocery store I found Young's Double Chocolate Stout, one of my favorite beers. Bought four bottles.

He's the crime scene photographer, I believe.

Wow, Kajehase - lucky it didn't spread too far.

Scarab Sages

Did I mention we bought a new bed on Saturday? Big sale over at sears, so we took advantage and got a new one for ourselves. We'll put the old one in the guest room.
