I'm giving them a chance to do so, which I'm sure they'll pick up.

Naked pick-up's are the best ones :P

But yeah, usually my PC's investigate stuff I don't want and make me improvise. Whilst the developed backgrounds are rarely explored.

Anyway at last I might have a chance to spend 2 weeks creating stuff before running my game. Last couple of games have had 0 prep time.

:D

Cheers for that! As for me, I have a dentist's appointment that should fix the worst of my tooth pains at saturday, and a GURPS Fantasy session at sunday. I've been playing a kindly Dark is Not Evil, Anti-Nihilist Necromancer lady who's been pulled over into a plot regarding some ancient civilization as well as involving the gods. It's been pretty fun playing this character. She's the friendliest character in the entire party, mainly spending her free time tending to the sick or giving the dead a proper burial. Adding to that, she'd a pacifist and would only resort to non-lethal spells if forced to defend herself.

GURPS Necromantic college... Hell yeah!

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! Happy Thursday!

KM tonight is gonna be mostly RP. The Duchess is getting promoted to Viscountess and the other four charter signees are getting Knighted. Varn and his retinue, the Drelevs, Havelock (my homebrew world's counterpart to Irovetti) and Engelidis, the Iron Wraiths, and a few other localized dignitaries will all be in attendance, including Elegy's brothers and sister-in-law and nieces. Who she has to break the news of "Hi I died and got reincarnated as a spider" to.

Otherwise should give them a chance to mingle and introduce them to the other charter-holders and maybe provide a little foreshadowing.

Sounds like my game's Elga Verniex/Old Beldame. Who got rebuilt as a Witch and basically turned into Granny Weatherwax.

Scarab Sages

Went out for a quick dinner with the wife and boy last night. That was cool. Then spent most of the night on the computer working on a potential second Wayfinder submission. Not sure if I want to submit this idea though. I kind of like it and may want to keep it for myself.

Scarab Sages

Anyway, just a quick post or three and now I'm out. Got plenty to do this morning. Later, people! Have an awesome day.

I'd figure the difference there is that Claritia (my necromancer) doesn't have a familiar, and is a fair bit younger :D

Sound of a Thousand Screams:
I actually realized the Horned Hunter / Ascalon doesn't seem to have a proper melee weapon during the first fight.

Figured he'd either wield a Frost Brand or a Maul of the Titans, both being references to Garl Vinland's hammer Bramd.

:(

Now I feel bad that my Kingmaker game sort of petered out. We never even got to the end of Book 1 and I cannot really see us picking it back up. (1 player was young & hasn't been back to the club, 1 player went to study abroad, 1 player is a serviceman, & 2 other players are GM's (who hate D&D (although they enjoyed the game)))

Technically he has a gore attack like all satyrs. But yeah, a big frickin' hammer is a good addition.

Today is off to a sucktastic start. Just got my car back after spending almost $900 of my dad's money (I'll pay it back if, when, and as I can) to replace the water pump, thermostat, a few hoses, and completely redo the front brakes (pads, rotors, calipers, and lines), and now it has no oomph and shakes like the dickens. Looks like either a fuel filter or fuel pump. Fingers crossed for filter.

And I still don't have any creamed chipped beef on toast.

Why do apps with audio figure they need to start with the volume cranked to ELEVEN! Ow, my freakin' ears!

That sucks! I had two things go wrong with my car when I had nowhere near the $1100 the garage wanted, but found a shade tree mechanic who did all the work (and got parts) for under $500.

A friend last month got 4 new tyres for his car, within 2 weeks one of them was ruined because they had been put on wrong and he had to get another new one.

Sorry to hear that, gran. About to do some serious bike work myself, and on my own.....

BP, sorry to hear about your dog. :(

Gran, I hope your car just needs a fuel filter. Sorry to hear about the auto woes.

Aeglos, I hope Sabine's grandmother's surgery goes well.

Sounds like my car as well. Parents say it might also be a spark-plug issue. Haven't been able to take it in, but thankfully have the van on loan from the parents until the car can get looked at.

I hope everyone else is doing well. I saw that Studpuffin had a job interview, so I hope that proves fruitful.

Cinnamon. She's on my Facebook account.

She's cute.

However, I never knew you had a Facebook account, and it's not like I ever got a friend request from you. :P

so uh okay gather round boys and girls it is Lamontius story time again

Lamontia and I have two cats, one is an enormous fatboy black cat who is up over 20 pounds yet sort of agile and possessed of both enormous greed and a crafty sort of bull-headed stupidity

So last week, we are on our patio in the late evening, both enjoying a glass of wine and trying to beat the heat by sitting outside where there was a bit of a breeze

Our place is on the 2nd floor of a large house that was long-ago split into four units, so we share our upper-floor patio with our neighbor, who is a good friend of ours. Each of our places has a wooden screen door that leads out to the patio area from opposite sides

Our neighbor came out and joined us for awhile, but finally, the hour grew late and it was time to retire, so we said our goodnights and headed in to go to bed

Since it has been so hot, we both leave our back doors open to the patio, just shutting the screen doors to keep the bugs out

I wake up the next morning and for whatever reason, the patio is just thrashed: One of the potted plants looked like it had been dug in, with dirt all around it, the layer of outdoor carpet on the patio had been pulled up in places, and...our neighbors lower screen panel on her door was completely ripped and pushed in

Now, our neighbor has a cat as well. Our cats and her own are all good buddies and we will frequently let them all play together on the patio or in one of our places when we visit. I figured that maybe her cat had gotten a little aggro or something, but I honestly had no idea what could have done this, especially since our screen door was closed and intact, with both of our cats quietly curled up on the sofa when I walked into the living room that morning.

I did not understand what happened, but it being a Saturday morning and not having to go into work, I cleaned everything up as best I could and upon realizing our neighbor had left very early in the morning to go to her job shift, I made a mental note to talk to her and ask what might have happened out there after Lamontia and I went to bed

...so our neighbor gets home later on that day, knocks on our back patio door and is already laughing when she tells us that she had a bit of a shock that morning.

...our fatboy cat had somehow snuck out onto the patio with Lamontia and I the previous evening, despite being large and fat and not terribly easy to miss. But, it was dark while we were out there and I guess sometimes you forget to look for a large black ninja sneaking cat before going to bed, when you are pleasantly twisted on some merlot

Apparently, our cat just chilled out there on the patio all night, dug around in the plants, pulled up the rug...and then, getting bored, decided to visit our neighbor by pushing in her screen door panel until it ripped, so he could enter her place and visit his little cat buddy.

He apparently ate all of her cat's food and then jimmied open the door to her living room walk-in closet. (long story, but he learned how to do this on our closet by getting his paw under the door. Her unit has a nearly identical setup to ours)

Our neighbor woke up that morning, got dressed, went to the closet...and found 20 pounds of sleepy black cat laying on her shoes, staring up at her like he owned the place.

Once she got over her shock, she picked him up, opened our screen door, and let him back into our place before having to head off to work

so basically, Lamontia and I are the proud (we are not proud of this at all) owners of a creeper cat-burglar who breaks into houses and lays on women's footwear.

Luckily, we are good friends with our neighbor who was a VERY good sport about it and laughed it off. Nonetheless, Lamontia and I repaired and re-screened her door the other day, as well as completely fixed and cleaned the patio. Good as new, save for us being completely embarrassed at our cat-owner negligence.

So yeah, our cat is a terrible stealthy ninja beast and Lamontia and I basically pulled the cat-equivalent of leaving a kid at the gas station on a road trip

The moral of this story? Always do a cat head-count before bed, even if you are slightly twizzled on vino, because your terrible fat cat-burglar animal may decide to sit on your neighbor's shoes all night

Yay for new puppies and new monsters.

Getting a dog is on my to-do list once I get closer to being ready to move out. Since I've made arrangements with my dad to buy the car I usually use (once it's repaired) the list has gotten a little shorter much more quickly than I expected.

ROFL to that story Lamontius. Makes me wish I had a cat again.

Too much to read. Not enough time.

I think I caught the flu. I feel a fever starting: chills, body ache, sore throat, and I think there are kobolds trying to dig a tunnel out of my skull. I did not need this.

Oh no, CH, very sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself, or have John do it for you. We need our angel.

=(

Get better soon man.

I hope you get well soon, CH

Also, I'm glad it's kobolds and not gnomes.

This is a very good life lesson. I have noted it, sir.

I am putting some random Razor Coast goodness into my S&S campaign, now that my player group is done with Chapter 1, in order to give them some interesting encounters when they inevitably sail wherever the hell they want, rather than do what is in the AP
