Apparently, the world was not as entertained by THIS as much as I.

Naked moving? O.o

Anybody ever heard of this zombie movie?

Had to go get kidlet from school today because he had a meltdown. :(

Hi, my names' Jeremy. I'm addicted to minis. And lead. And terrain. And Hero Forge.

Hi Jeremy!

First off I am addicted to Dwarven forge stuff, second I don't think it's a problem it's within my financial means currently. :P So what if I spend 5k annually on pathfinder stuff and roleplaying accessories. When I have all 3d terrain inside and out, then I'll be happy. Plus my minis collection is all but complete :P i think everyone one else isn't doing enough to add super awesome accessories to there game. When I move into my new place I get a whole gaming room!!!

Oops. revokes gigglesnort

I am one of the few people who enjoyed the first Hulk. The only other people I know who did all have degrees in psychology, like myself.

Someone enjoyed that movie?? I admit there are parts of it I liked but damn, it just did not live up to the hype.

I am wondering what the "next" Hulk will be like since Ed Norton was supposedly so hard to work with they did not want him back and cancelled the sequel. Or so the internet rumors say, and we all know the internet never lies.

He will be back in Joss Whedon's Avengers movie, played by Mark Ruffalo.

edges closer to Jess Doors laundry as the release date for the movie approaches

It is time, once again, to NAME THE LAME.

Sorry if I am out of line for posing such a question but if it is your ex's son....well....an ex is an ex for a reason.
~grimaces~ Well, I plan on seeing a lawyer, but... ~sighs~ I can guess what the eventual outcome will be. As for my ex-'s son, I tried my best to treat him as my own. I also fooled myself more than a bit.

you didn't fool yourself, you held out hope. It just didn't work out this time. I strongly recommend the lawyer, he needs to be held responsible for his own actions.

Currently trying to coax a tired, reluctant child into doing his homework. Sigh. So much for anything that I had planned for the day.

FAIL on my part. I likes me the Hero Forge templates.

Do you have one of those whiz bang gaming tables? Saw one last year for $10k. linky Too hard core for me.

Dwarven Forge is awesome stuff. My buddy Todd has a bunch of that.

Oh, I agree. He needs to be held resposible. ~grimaces and grumbles~ Unfortunately, I doubt he will BE resposible. Thus my resigning myself to having to pay the damn bill.

At the game ii attend every other week, the host owns the Sultan. We play on it all the time, but it is a little too big for the room we are in.

Have we heard how Mac is doing lately?

Silver Crusade

Well, if you all don’t mind, I’m going to layout my plan in spoilers and you can all poke holes in it (seriously – what aren’t we thinking of?).

”Some of the primary issues”:
We’re still not 100% certain where we are going to wind up. I have family in Portland, and it has the advantage of affordable housing and good public transportation. We fell in love with Los Angeles when we were there, and it presents additional opportunities in music for me and in photography for my partner – but is expensive and has crappy public transportation.

We were going to fly out to see places, but that is prohibitively expensive, and probably draws things out more than we would like. Even staying with my brother for a while, there are flights and rental cars, and possibly a lot of back and forth among cities.

I would also love to line up a job and then go there to follow it, but right now that is not happening. There are lots of possibilities, but I’m looking for something in HR or finance, and, frankly, companies don’t recruit out of town for that sort of thing – they have local applicants that they can pursue much more easily. I have resumes out all over the place, though, so I’m hoping that once I’m set up somewhere I can follow up on those leads.

Plan:
Right now, we’re looking at packing up and driving out west (possibly even without extending our lease, which as of right now is up at the end of May). We would take our time, since we wouldn’t be on a deadline. We’ll visit my family in Portland, see the place again, and see if we want to live there. LA is more of a known quantity for us. Once we are there and can really weigh our options, we will look for a place and try to line up interviews (or even try to line up interviews in advance, if the opportunity presents itself).

We’ll put our stuff in a POD (whatever we are not bringing in the car with us; we would bring our computers, enough clothes for a couple weeks including interview attire, my partner’s cameras, etc). Apparently PODS will warehouse your stuff until you arrange for delivery, so we won’t need to give them a delivery address in advance, which sounds like it will work perfectly.

”Car stuff”:
There is still the question of the second car. One cannot tow the other, sadly (they are both 4 cylinder FWD cars – neither could handle that). We would love to go down to 1 car, but it’s almost completely impossible in LA, and iffy in Portland. Moving a car is expensive – we got a quote once and it was around $1000. Not to mention, we’d have to have a friend or family member hold the other car and be available to coordinate with the movers once we were ready to ship it.

We could sell one (my partner’s mom needs a new car and really wants to buy his), but there is a decent potential we would need to buy another one in the near future. That could be doable, because we could just buy something well-used, using the money from the sale of the car to buy the next one. Still undecided on this one.

Hmm. I think that’s about it.

I think you should just go ahead and move to Houston. All the cool kids are doing it. I've even heard of a really great house for sale in a nice neighborhood, and with a great neighbor.

Is it just me or is there anyone else out there that just cringes from seeing "Raise of the Poodle Lords"? Typos are at their worst when they are in the title...

Someone needs to write me a song. 'No Time For Neurosis' would be the title. Then I could play it whenever the people at work want me to jump thru hoops to customize their workstations because they can't deal with what everyone else is using.

I seriously believe some people just want to argue. They pick hot-button topics, or contrary positions. Seems to be happening with increased frequency on these boards.
