Morning... Why can't I dream any dream to its plot finish? And why I tend to forget them anyway?
It's probably because the Illuminati are using their secret Dream Control Satellite to manipulate the sleeping minds in the region where you live, all as part of their larger, and far more fiendish plot to control humanity by threatening to make us dream of naked elephants doing cartwheels.

Whew! I'll have to take a look at it tomorrow. I'm whipped and probably heading to bed very, very soon.
And thanks! Beyond almost getting creamed by an 18-wheeler and having a tire nearly blow out in the middle of nowhere (Kansas), it was a good trip. And don't think I'm ungrateful that the little town of WaKeeny had four auto shops, one of which had a tire of the proper size and could install it immediately. And that the tire didn't blow out before we got there. Hooray!
Hooray, well sounds a bit terrible. But hopefully it's the start of your (& puffins) fortunes turning around - to make a fortune.

Helping the Magus player in my Kingmaker group explore alternate options. He's frustrated by the class's narrow focus and getting outshone in melee by the Samurai and Barbarian/Cavalier and at ranged by the really well-built Rogue. So letting him try a rebuild as an EK to give him more spell versatility. Spent most of last evening making a long list of spells that I thought would be good for him. We'll see how it goes.

Yeah, I keep hearing things like this about the magus. Seems to be sort of a jack of all trades, master of none type.

Honestly, it's less that he's got an ineffective build and more that his dice absolutely hate him for anything that isn't a Knowledge check.
Pretty much this. His build is fine but his dice just don't cooperate. Hence why I've been trying to nudge him toward a control-mage EK - so that he can be effective in combat with things that don't require good rolls to do his job.

In our D&D game worst rolls have the most complex multiple-combo character. Best rolls are domain of simple hp-focused Fighter...

Well we played the 40k Talisman game on Friday, I couldn't roll more than a 3 on a d6(exploding). Whereas 1 player had all his enemies explode there d6 on every combat.

Went for a shopping at 2 AM to take advantage of a 24-hour opened TESCO that was opened nearby some time ago.
Contents of vegetable bargain bin exceeded my expectations... Cheap cob of maize cheap cucumbers, cheap broccoli.
Also picked some potatoes because they were cheap too.
Maize is in the pot ascending to be my dinner.

Hmm, so just figured out what I might have to run.
A pathfinder game ranging from levels 2 to 5 (reaching that just before the climax); lasting for 10-13 sessions of 2-3 hours.
With the climax being once they've fought the BBEG do they activate the McGuffin or stay at their homebase? (Inspired by This Thanks Jess)
This option will allow a changeover of players if needed. Or a different situation, as well as providing a permanent/recurring village for all players.
Anyway lovely Monday to all.

I've been listening to Super Robot Wars soundtracks and getting more ideas for Kingmaker. The group's Wizard Sage has a bit of a history with a certain cult of Abraxas in Nex, and I got an idea for a villain who will show up to bother him later on during a character focused side-quest of sorts. Said villain is an elven cultist of Abraxas named Mansur, though his original name is Milanthar*. I also had some more ideas related to a few NPCs who worship Erastil, considering local PC Ranger Kiriv Ikitclaw also venerates Old Deadeye.
I don't think I've ever been this excited about a session as DM before...
* = I'd tell more about this guy and some other things, but I know at least one player from my group hangs around here on occasion.

Made it to Denver a couple of days ago and have been struggling with the altitude and catching up on sleep ever since.
The drive through Missouri was uneventful, but we did have to stop in Topeka to rest. The KC/Topeka area is amazingly beautiful. I'd heard it was, but didn't really believe it.
I noticed the next morning that the van I was driving kept trying to pull right. By late morning, the front end felt like I was driving on speed bumps and I had to tug against the wheel to keep it from veering off the road. I pulled over on the highway and we checked the tires, but the wheels weren't loose or anything. Must have been my imagination thought I, I did. But as soon as we started, the terrible fear of driving that machine the way it was returned, so I pulled into the next rest area.
Long story short, a little town was ahead and we decided to limp there and try to find a shop. First one was closed. Second guy found a bump on the tire but didn't have the right size in stock. He called his neighbor, who had one. Within an hour, the van had a new tire and we were ready to roll.
Naturally, as Puffin pulled the car into the last shop's parking lot, the engine revved like crazy and he barely got it stopped in time to keep from running through the side of the building. We had NO money after the tire for another car repair, so on the principle of 'fix what's obvious and then see if it helps', I popped the hood and poked around. There was an odd thing that looked like a narrow hose with a little coupler on it, with a cord inside keeping the coupler ends near each other - but they were uncoupled. I popped the connection back together and - WALAA! FEEX! I confess to strutting a bit.
Besides the truck that nearly took me out when I was too tired to even get a jolt of adrenaline from the incident, the rest of the trip was smooth sailing. I would have appreciated air conditioning, but Puffin and I swapped dogs at rest stops so they didn't overheat. They do love a car ride and are perfectly ready to hit the road again. I don't think so.
So now that we're here, it's time to finish putting our junk away and start looking for jobs today. One trip hauling a box down to the basement and dragging back up for the next gets us panting, though the headaches have subsided. It's amazing to be able to go out on the deck and sit on a dry deck chair, or to have glasses full of ice water not leave puddles on the table. The locals laugh at us for putting paper towels under our cups, and they're right to. The lack of humidity, bugs, mold, pollen, etc. is incredible! We love it here so far.

You know Freehold, I'm not a dedicated fan of Super Robot Wars (yet), but a friend of mine who is wanted to do a collaboration inspired by it, with our original characters from various sources as mech pilots. It's both hilarious and awesome in my opinion, so I decided to go with it. We haven't gotten to work on it so much so for now it's only an idea between two friends, though if I do become a professional writer some day I'll make use of that idea one way or another. I could write out a script and my friend would draw it out as a comic, or we could go for something even more ambitious as time goes on.

Monsters elude me. Dungeon design likewise. NPC stats? Gimme an excel sheet and srd access stat.

I also wonder if I can call myself ambitious, or am I just a dreamer.
Part of me wants to just give up on writing and on any of those other things I think about.
Then again, my dad also dismissed my ambitions as pipedreams, and he gets my confidence down a lot in general.
I've been writing for five years as a hobby, but sometimes I feel like I haven't improved at all, and that I'll never achieve anything with it.

I've actually heard that good artists/writers are usually quite down on themselves when it comes to skills. If you ever get to a point where you like what you've done, so I've heard, you lose the drive to improve upon the product.
My problems with writing are less "Ugh I hate this" and more "Ugh what is free time"/"Ooh 10 hour nyancat remix" so there's that.

Yay complementary partnership? I can make NPCs obviously, but I enjoy monsters more.
