Liberty's Edge

I have several upbeat soundtracks, but where to find a cute animal sidekick...?

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOYAH!!!

Scarab Sages

Wow, some people really suck ass.

Scarab Sages

Also, I've got at least two new posters on my list of "just flag everything they post".

Scarab Sages

But enough about America-hating douchebags, let's talk about one of my favorite subjects - me.

Scarab Sages

It's Cinco de Mayo. A day you should all be very happy about. It's the day that gave you - me!

Scarab Sages

Already got some cool gifts!

From the boy - blurays of Ice Age, Gremlins, and Cats & Dogs.

From the wife - a gift certificate to one of the beer brewing stores I go to!

Woot!

Scarab Sages

Of course, I have to go to work today, but oh well.

Scarab Sages

However, I am going to take off tomorrow.

Scarab Sages

And speaking of taking off. Time to finish getting the boy ready and head off to work.

IDK what the deal is really. I have noticed quality of care in medical issues around here has steadily declined since Romneycare came into being in the PRM. Of course, I may be viewing this through partisan glasses, but in the end, I base my philosophy on what I observe with my own eyes, not what some policy wonk puts out in an internet article.

The nurses telling me that 'oh, Jim had your number, but he must have assumed when I was calling the wrong number that I was calling the one he had.' was a corker. Or, 'Well, the MICU had your number, but they have a different computer input than we do, and we couldn't access it (the MICU and her current bed are but a dozen steps away from each other on the same floor). OR, 'Well, we have the wrong number in our computer system, but we have to call to get that removed, so we'll put your number in another place in our computer systems we like to put numbers in such cases.' (leading me to speculate, 'why can't you CALL this mythical place and have the wrong number removed to resolve any further issues like this?')

*sigh* bureaucracy at its best.

Lowry: Excuse me, Dawson, can you put me through to Mr. Helpmann's office?

Dawson: I'm afraid I can't sir. You have to go through the proper channels.
Lowry: And you can't tell me what the proper channels are, because that's classified information?
Dawson: I'm glad to see the Ministry's continuing its tradition of recruiting the brightest and best, sir.
Lowry: Thank you, Dawson.

Indeed....

I've got a little of both for them.
I have nothing but hate. For everyone, not just a select few. >:D

I pity addicts, but I keep them at arm's length. I have been burned all too often by their bullshit. Active addicts are a social cancer, and destroy almost every life they interact with.

Happy Birthday Zombeh!

I am happy about today, as my daughter is home! YAY! My wife went early yesterday and talked to a few supervisors about the treatment we got from the staff. From what I understand, a few heads will be rolling. They totally went sideways to established proceedure, and the supervisors were horrified with what my wife told them.

Thanks Mothy!

To everyone else, thank you for all your positivity and support. It has helped quite a bit.

Leafy: Sorry to hear about your back

E7: Sorry to hear about your daughter's issues, but I am glad she is getting to the prom.

Lynora: Gratz on the high grade

I am sure I am missing a whole lot of things, but I hope everyone has a good end of the week.

Isn't that how zombies get drunk? Eating brains of drunk people? Hehe, that would be a funny movie spoof.

Cinco de Zombie -- my favorite holiday! Have a happy one, Az.

I'm glad my profs weren't tanked to the gills on pain meds when they designed their finals. Or were they...?

Patrick, glad to hear that Ally is home and that there will be at least some attempt to deal with the crap you guys had to deal with from the hospital staff.

E7, glad that your daughter is okay. Hope she has a good time at prom. :)

Mairk, I hope your back gets better soon. :(

Percent chance I will actually clean today like I'm supposed to instead of reading online manga all day like yesterday? ....yeah, it's not high...

Hate housecleaning so much. Especially when it hasn't been done since Christmas. :(

Eew. That doesn't sound attractive at all. I think its spooky action on me from a distance will mean that I come home and lay down and watch anime, too.

Should be an interesting exam. You wrote it while both in pain and on pain meds.
