Aw, man. Are you sick? I was going to give you a man hug, but I don't want to squish anything out of you if you're sick.

I hope your birthday takes an upturn for the better.

Happy birthday, Studpuffin.

The Exchange

Happy Monday morning folks! Hope everyone had a good Easter Sunday, and for those so inclined I hope the Playboy Bunny was good to you.

Hope the Birthday got better Puffin. :/

Spoiler:
BttH..... that is all.

Happy Birthday, Puffin-Man. Hope you feel better immediately!

Facebook did not tell me of Puffin man's birthday. Did Facebook lie to me? Did Puffin man lie to Facebook? I would have gladly given Puffin man an extra special birthday wish that only I can deliver with without impunity.

I clearly blame Freehold's hate obsession with Whedon as triggering the loss of balance in the Buffyverse. Never mind the fact that I've never seen a single episode of Buffy. Or Firefly, for that matter. I digress.

I think it's Puffin's way of maintaining some privacy.

Of course, I feel like the ass after making the "too much sugar" comment on his FB page while wishing him a Happy Birthday/Get Well.

Ugh, sleepy today. Thank God the kids are being so well behaved.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and got lots of family time in.

First final exam today. It's math, so I'm not too worried. I did a few practice problems last night, and I think I'm good to go.
Poor kidlet is home from school today. His allergies kept him up half the night so he was more than half asleep this morning.

Wow. You have the exact same Easter plans that I do. :D

Except first I have to set up the Easter egg hunt for the kidlet who thankfully slept in due to a long full day of playing yesterday.

I would have gone grocery shopping if they hadn't all been closed (mostly unannounced) for Easter.

I was more then half asleep this morning, and I didn't get to stay home :(

Yes, but I doubt you throw tantrums that could easily cause harm to yourself and/or others when you're overtired either. :)

Yeah, I ended up not being able to do the grocery shopping either. But I did get six loads of laundry done, so that's something.

Much to my chagrin, I've decided ultimately that web-only learning is not for me. :/

Lets not forget my unyielding hatred of Facebook here, and which may indeed have caused the birthday skippage on your list of updates. If this was indeed the cause, then I heartily apologize, i hate Facebook, not Puffins or their birthdays!

I also have some beer to bottle.

Just don't get your bottles confused.

In your sleepdeprived state, that could easily happen.

Morning, all. What did I miss?

Last night I prevailed upon my partner to eat ham, which he doesn't usually care for. I wanted it for Easter, but did it up differently. Fried ham slices with mushroom cream sauce. Delicious.

Really? Why not? I'm curious. Not that I'm ever likely to get the opportunity since my classes usually involve labs, but it seems like such a good idea...

lol. See I have that problem in the classroom. Except when they let me play with chemicals. Even I pay attention when there is imminent possibility of boom. ;P

I'm more annoyed by the fact that I seem to be writing an essay for each question instead of a couple of paragraphs regurgitating what I've read. I've not received a response from the teacher nor have I heard back about how I did on my first essay. As much hell I'm going to get by wasting money, I'm just going to drop the course and retake it in the class room instead. I feel like I'm sorely missing out on the classroom presentation experience. Web courses are not for me.

I'll stick with the in-class courses. I cannot keep up with the web one. It's a shame, because it's a topic I'm well familiar with. It's just that what I expected and what I'm getting are totally incompatible. I'm getting the initial impression that you get weighed down with a lot more essays in the web environment versus the in-class experience. Frankly, I'm not interested.

I'm the type of person that likes to learn by visual instruction with the means to ask questions if something confuses me. That and the fact that these books are the ultimate in eye-gouging banality. And finally, I just discovered the other day that the instructor deviated from the books required for the curriculum as sold in the book store and subbed with a different one. Made sense why I couldn't choose one of the questions to answer questions when the page number reference made no sense. It's partially fault for not reading more closely to the syllabus. But at least with the in-class instructors, the majority of them make sure to bring to attention so you don't make that innocent mistake.

Besides, if I want to continue to take future classes related to the entry level, I don't want to overlook something and pay for it later. Live and learn. :/

augh! Sorry to hear you are having such trouble with your online course. The it really is not for everyone, and it can be depressing to find out that you are one of those people. With respect to a teacher deviating from the syllabus, i too burn with rage when that happens. Long story short, you are putting down money to take part in this experience, you should get at least some small amount of congruence with what you thought the course would be about. It's my number two peeve behind a professor writing the book for the course or dumping /forgetting to order the books for the course.

Possibly, but at this point I need something with a bit more of a scheduled structure. Personally, I miss the ADHD meds, but I had to let 'em go when I lost insurance. I realize my fallibility.

Well, Harry met Sally for some lunch, but was unprepared for her reaction to the delicious food. Meanwhile, Thelma and Louise found themselves in deep trouble when they took a wrong turn during their spur-of-the-moment road trip. And, across town, Rooster was alarmed when he discovered that the cargo he was transporting was actually.....No, wait! That's my soap opera.

Sorry about the loss of meds. Is there anything you can do through the college? An acquaintence of mine was able to get enough stuff to wend her way through a semester, but that was a long time ago and I'm not sure the methods she used were on the up and up.

G+!&+$n trolls.

Looked into online classes when I went back to school a while back. Didn't try them tho.

- I preferred the structure of classrooms. Less distractions.
- People contact and collaboration. Plus.
- Time spent online in 'class' chat rooms wasn't appealing.
- Class locations were fairly close to home.
- Typing speed. Slow. 'nuff said.
- Seemed like class time vs web time was about the same.

They do work for people. Whatever works best for you.
