Why great graphic novels are always so damn short? Mere eight hundred pages? *sigh*

Oh, heard from Derek, by the way. He's planning to turn himself in this Tuesday. He wanted me to let FAWTL know and he'll see us on the flip side.
what did he do this time?
Parole thing. He just has to finish out his whole term now.

Bummer. Tell him we'll be thinking of him
Ok, I understand that some people like to wear baggy jeans hanging off their ass. I also understand that some people like to wear skinny jeans. I don't know why you would do either, personally, but there was a kid in my lobby this morning who needs to make up his mind. He had skinny jeans hanging off his ass. I really wanted to smack him upside his head and yell "Choose 1 style and stick with it!" Maybe I'm just too out of touch, but that seemed too stupid to let go unmentioned.

Good morning FAWTLY Folk! It's a rather gloomy and rainy Saturday morning here in Philthadelphia.
Sometimes I really hate Disney.

The boy seems to be feeling better this morning. At least his fever seems to be gone.

There might be need for more coffee.....
I asked the boy, and he agreed. So, more coffee it is....

It does my heart some good to see the boy have a preference for choo choo trains over princess crap.
Electric trains = epic fail. Best to stick with steam or diesel.
Not that I'm biased or anything....
But it's a well known fact that diesel trains are evil bastiches.
Best way to be woken up?
Not with a cat retching beside the bed. So you just have enough time to get up, before the vomit comes...

Cats are like Diesel engines - evil bastiches. It is known.
Time to go prevent my son from climbing the stairs with his bowl of goldfish crackers.

Probably wise. Everyone knows it's salmon that swim up. The goldfish might confuse them.

soon we go for dinner at an australian restaurant, then to a rock club "the cave" for dancing - or as I like to call it: releasing my inner Joe Cocker

I hope this round is not too bad for HD, and I hope it goes by quickly. I'm sure we'll be here when he gets out :)
Morning, all. What did I miss?
Jesus christ. Fire at my sister in laws. She lost everything, but her, her son and their dog are okay. Faulty wiring behind fireplace. Staying at my grandmother in laws. This is awful.
Holy crap. Here's hoping they can get back on their feet quickly and with a minimum of hassle from the insurance company.
At least no one was hurt?
Rather less awful calamity: I was gonna make tomato sauce and penne for dinner, and now (1 hour after the close-by shops have closed), I discover I'm out of tomatoes. *headdesk*

This is awful. Yikes. Glad they are OK. Warn her to be careful of companies 'willing to help' her deal with her insurance. Also warn her that the insurance companies' contractor tend to promise a lot and deliver slowly. The restoration process and hassle is worse than the tragedy of the fire itself. She should be sure to record everything. Went thru this in '97 and it is a total pain.

Until he has kids himself and realizes you are actually not a butt head, but a Wise One who he never had the sense to respect.
