I may have just failed writing the post but no the students could ask stupid questions to slow the class down.

Ah misunderstood. Thought you were saying the professor was throwing out stupid questions to delay the class.

Oh my f~$&ing god... So I'm taking an ancient history class--Babylon up through Egypt, Greece, Rome, and early Islam. The professor's great, a laid-back and sardonic fellow named, I s#~@ you not, Craig C. Champion. On the other hand, my fellow students (I use the term loosely) are a bunch of baboons. Some of the great comments from JUST TODAY:

"Nazis were in Germany, right?"

"Does Chinese come from Proto-Indo-European?"

"Are 'Turkians' Arabs or Asians? I mean, what box do they check for 'race' on the census form?"

"You shouldn't call [early Semitic tribes] Hebrews. That's racist."

"Greece isn't in Europe! It's in Greece!"

And so on and so forth. Idiots.

I've never run into it done on purpose. But I spend a lot of time tutoring the 'little lost lambs' as I refer to those students who are in over their head academically, so I am well aware of just how sincere they actually are. :/

I can tolerate that. It's officially moving into the triple digits in Las Vegas kiddies. I'm excepting 105 by June 1st.

Here comes the heat wave.

Today is nice. It's sunny and warm, but there's a nice breeze and it's not so gosh-awful hot and humid as the last few days.

If it really is a stalling tactic, that's actually a good way to identify who is paying for their own education. Anyone who realizes how much they are paying for each credit at SU would try to squeeze every drop of information out of every lecture. Those who would want to stall are probably lacking that incentive.

I didn't try to claim it was rational. just that it could happen and thought of that when bored with the stupid questions. Although doing that would be a collosal dick move.

My partner was in an Eastern Religions class where the students liked to derail the prof. It made him so angry. They didn't use stupid questions, they just asked her questions about her kids and her pets and everything like that knowing that she was the type to get hopelessly sidetracked. If people don't want the material from the class, they should just stay home.

Poor Charlie's got another ear infection. Still, it looks like we caught it early, the doctor said. And this has been the first one since he got his tubes put in back in February.

So now the wife is gonna stay home with him tomorrow, keeping him dosed on Ibuprofin and ear drops.

I had a night calculus class, where the teacher had bad allergies. If it got too hot in the room, he'd cut class short. The thermostat in the room was a model I'm familiar with (used to install them), and I knew just how to adjust it to ensure the room would be warm enough.

However, I was a good boy, and only used my power when someone absolutely needed to get out of class early.

Or when I didn't feel like being there.

Or sometimes just for fun.

Well, work is uninteresting, as it mostly consisted of getting permissions to folders and installing applications on my new computer. I will start training in earnest tomorrow. :)

And not only jeans, but free soda!!

And I just bought my plane tickets to Paizo-con.

Looking forward to PaizoCon. It'll be a nice new experience. And then, five months of drudgery until the Christmas holiday block leave.

Need a dream expert.

I don't get them all the time, but every now and then I dream of gothic churches with beautiful stonework lined up in a row across campuses/blocks and buildings like schools/apartments/rectories/cemeteries/etc done up as nicely. I'm always awed when I walk or drive into these areas, though I'm often wondering where everyone parks to go to these places. They also have expansive lawns/entries to the front of the buildings.

Today's version had an abandoned/crumbling church, but with an up to date apartment/city office type building around the corner. I was trying to collect pieces of fallen/broken stained glass windows.

Not sure if I've ever seen this stuff before. I wish I could draw it out.

It's almost like a college campus made up of multiple churches/denominations along with other buildings. There are different layouts/make ups whenever I dream of them.

Not sure why I dream of this stuff, but I've always loved old buildings.

So my kids ranked up Tuesday night in Scouts. My oldest is now a Life Scout and is well on his way to Eagle, while my youngest just made Star.

I am trying to decide if it is better or worse that it is a almost the same movie as Bloodrayne 3. (and I hope it was meant to be a parody of that).

Cool, nekkid Bloodrayne.
