RPG Superstar 2011 Top 16 , Star Voter Season 6

I was checking my entry to round 3 for word count and hit submit by mistake! Is there anyway it can be reset? I am unsure of my word count (which should be fine) and of my code tags. The subject like is also just a few keystrokes, the word count won't come up unless something is in the subject field. If it is too late to change the submission (which i will understand, but hope is not true) can you at the very least adjust the subject field so it actually says something?

I really hope i didn't just screw myself here!
Thanks for anything you can do

To make matters worse, I have two different drafts right now, and was checking their word counts in an attempt to help my decision.

This really sucks!

We don't really want anybody who got this far to be eliminated based on a technicality, but our form is pretty much designed to work one way. We'll see what we can do.

Oh, man. :( I really hope they can help you, Nick. I'm pulling for you.

That's great Vic, I really appreciate anything you can do here.

Really glad they were able to fix your problem, Nick. And if it makes you feel any better, I'm about to beta-word-check my entry as well and your mishap will hopefully make me very, very cautious. :-)

I'm so paranoid of doing the same thing that I only check my word count on my desktop instead of my overly sensitive laptop. I also keep a watch out for cats...

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 4 aka Scipion del Ferro

I would ask "How in the world did you click that?" but then I would probably do it on accident.

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 16 , Star Voter Season 6

After checking with the boards and commenting several times a day, your hand just knows that it should be clicking submit, and if you're brain's not vigilant.....

you know, I really gotta hand it to Paizo. They could have really been sticklers and said, "tough, you didn't follow the rules or were careless, blah blah blah." But they didn't.

They did it with the names in Round 1, and now this.

I'm really impressed and pleased by the way they handle situations like this.

Yeah, it shows a degree of care and professionalism that makes me that much more glad I am involved. It would have been easy for them to go the other way here, and I'd have had to live with the results. I wouldn't have been happy about it, but what could I do, it would be a totally fair assessment. I can't be thankful enough.

Now I really have to bring my A-game or I'll never hear the end of it :P

I discovered the Paizo website at about the same time I started my Organizational Leadership degree. One thing that comes up a lot in my degree is "company culture." Paizo has a very unique culture in that it's top developers actively answer customer questions and solicit consumer feedback. This is probably more work for them but it goes a long way in establishing excellent relationships with their customers. It would be easier for them to hire consultants to analyze sales trend throughout the industry and develop projects that way, but not as effective as their mingling with us on the boards, answering our questions about the products, and prodding us for new product ideas. That customer service mentality extends to this contest as well, allowing us to put forth ideas, debate amongst ourselves, and hopefully generate a stronger game. Not only does Paizo put out great products but they create a great culture and allow us to be a part of it.

I think the big key on this, is that the owners and developers of Paizo are also gamers. They use their own product.

I would really also like to thank the rest of you guys, top 16 especially, for not crying foul here. You could have been jerks, and were not. I'm happy to see that we're all adults, and am proud to be numbered among you.

Not only that, but I wouldn't want to advance on a technicality...not only would that make the achievement of advancing just a bit less, but I really want the best designer in the competition to win. Sure, I hope it's me, but I wouldn't want it at the expense of someone who could do a better job.

No harm, no foul.

Wow, Paizo took care of that fast! And close to 3:00 in the morning no less (unless my clock is wrong). Now that's what I call customer service! (Or would that be contestant service?)

I want to win or lose based on the quality of the submissions not some minor goof. It could have just as easily been one of us that hit the submit button accidentally. Glad you're still with us.
