So, I'm fairly new here, and this is definitely my first Superstar

RPG Superstar™ 2011 General Discussion

I think I've posted ... once prior to today. :) Not for any lack of love of Paizo -- my GM and I are currently in the process of coaxing our group to switch to Pathfinder -- but I just have been busy mostly posting elsewhere.

I think this is an amazing contest with a great prize. I'm in awe of the Top 32 items and their creators. I doubt I would ever create something quite as innovative and flavorful. As a paladin, I need to do my very best at something ... so I'll excel at voting!

My question: anyone else out there joining in on the discussion as a result of this cool contest idea?

RPG Superstar 2011 Top 16 , Star Voter Season 6

I was drawn to paizo because that's where Dungeon and Dragon magazines went and I needed back issues of savage tide. Also, I have a bit of an addiction to buying dice (about to cap 500) so I did a fair amount to tooling around the site looking for cool stuff. When I happened upon Superstar 2010 (mid or slightly post contest i think) I was blown away. It's an awesome idea with a great prize. This ultimately got me to convert to PFRPG so I would be better equipped to enter this year. Since I'm DM to a table of a dozen players I started to switch that campaign over to get a better feel for the rules, and everyone is happy with the change. A few other friends play, just not in my game because having more than ten players makes me want to kill myself sometimes, and they have started the switch too.

Ultimately it was the Superstar that got me interests, got me talking, and got me selected.

I love Superstar!

This is where I come from too. I was familiar with Paizo because of Dungeon magazine, and I'd order back issues mostly. Superstar 2008 is what really got me into Paizo, and I entered an item the first year of the contest when I came across RPG Superstar. Since then, I've gotten more and more into Pathfinder, and look forward to RPG Superstar every year.

I think this is a great contest, and I hope you find lots of inspiration, DP, as you follow along. And maybe you'll even submit an item yourself next year. Because win or 'lose', it's an awesome contest to participate in. :)

Thanks, Seth. I plan to throw an item in the ring next year, just to see what happens. No harm, no foul, right? :)

I'm now busy reading over all the proposals so I can decide who to vote for ... :P

12 players, wow! And our DM is getting antsy with 7 ... ;) But you are a good guy for putting on an evening of fun on a regular basis for that many people. Don't forget that that's exactly what you are doing; it's not something everyone gets to experience.

Glad to hear the dice-buying kick is a bit more common than you'd think. I have about 100 now, collected since my first RPG back in ... oh, 1996?

Good luck in the contest, Nick!
