One of my PCs wants to take an alternative class feature on his artificer to replace Craft Homonculus. Any ideas for balanced replacement options?
I'd probably allow the PC to take on of the Artisan feats from the Campaign Setting, or possibly another "artificer" like feat from Magic of Eberron or another sourcebook.
Another Alternative would be to get a bonus to the Craft Reserve (? Whatever the pool of "free" XP is to craft items that you get at every level, the exact name is escaping me at the moment)
Or possibly give him another of the Artificer Bonus Feats, but at an earlier level. ie. He gives up Craft Homoculus, but will get Craft Ring 2-3 levels earlier.
