Magus Spell Combat question

Here is a hypothetical situation. My 1st lvl magus character is in flanking position with the party fighter. They are both flanking an Orc. I decide to use the spell combat class feature to make an attack and cast a spell. I assume I would get a -2 to my attack roll, which might be off set by the +2 flanking bonus.

I assume my character would have to cast defensively, and the DC would be 15+(x2 spell lvl) so a first level spell DC would be 17. I think. Would the DC for a cantrip be 15?

So If my Magus character attacked, the flanked orc, and then say cast Acid Splash, I assume the DC for casting defensivly would be 15, and assuming my character makes the concentraition check, he would then need to make a ranged touch attack, to do 1d3 pts of damage (I assume, since the orc is also engaged in melee with the party fighter, My Magus would have to take a -4 to his ranged touch attack)

Do I have this right? Have I missed something?

Thanks

Ranged touch attack provokes attacks of opportunity. Probably not a good idea.

Trouble shooter, thank you, I am full of ideas of "questionable" value.

I dont think i will try that one. Perhaps ill just use color spray and get it over with. But then again the other party members might not be so pleased with that idea.

Well i can always whack on the hypothetical orc with a sword.

Thanks

At the levels you are talking of there is nothing wrong with Daze or flare. Of the two Daze is stronger but flare affects any creature.
