How to convert APs from 2e to 2emaster?

Conversions

I’m prepping (and rewriting parts of) Outlaws of Alkenstar to play with my group starting this fall. Since many of them will be learning the system for the first time (we’re transitioning from DnD 5e), and since I am hoping to continue on to Stolen Fate if the group hasn’t dissolved into scheduling issues by the time we’re done with OoA, I figured doing the whole thing using 2emaster would be the simplest solution (for them, at least—but I’m a forever GM, I’m used to complicated, heh). However, I have no idea to convert between 2e and 2emaster; I’m aware someone has a spreadsheet tracking all the changes, but I’m not sure how practicable just going off that would be. Any advice, tips, resources, whatever would be greatly appreciated!

One thing to keep in mind is that the core math is going to be the same in about 99% of cases. The only possible changes you may want to look out for, that I can think of, are checking if the party are going to fight any monsters that do alignment damage. Either convert that to spirit damage, spirit damage that affects the opposing sanctification, or nix the added damage entirely, based on how you think your group plays and how tough you want to be. I don't think the damage swing should be too noticeable, but it's still worth looking at.

Other than that, most of the changes I can think of will be on the player-facing side, so they'll come up during chargen but not much after that. Depending on what spells you let into the game you may also want to decide if you want to use the Remaster cantrip formula, 2dX, or the Premaster formula, 1dX +Mod, so you can be consistent.

Other than that, just keep an eye out for what languages the game asks for and look for their Remaster versions to swap over, I think.

My experience aligns with Perp, Languages and alignment are the two main things that need converting and the rest is mostly terminology (off-guard into flat footed, etc.) I don't recall alignment coming up that much in Outlaws anyways.

This is Paizo's own list of changes back when Rage of Elements came out. Its by no means exhaustive, but should be a good starting point.

One Note on a Final Book NPC:
One major opponent in the final book is a glass wizard. Since Outlaws released before Rage of Elements, his spell list is a bit generic. So I added several glass themed spells to his repertoire from Rage of Elements such as cave fangs instead of fireball and glass shield instead of regular shield. I thought that went well so highly recommend that.

That's the neat thing - you don't.

It's just a bunch of names. If you want to put effort into it, I'd recommend integrating some new content from books that came after, but if not it can be done on the fly.
